Egan, Jude  

Dr. Egan is awesome! This was his first quarter at Cal Poly and he did a great job with my Judicial Process class. He was incredibly understanding of the classes' concerns. He was always helpful during office hours/in emails. Really a great faculty member to have at Cal Poly. I really learned a lot. I look forward to taking him next quarter for Constitutional Law. Advice for 245 with him: only skim the book, the one midterm is based off of broad course themes that you can get from lecture.

Jude is awesome! As a sociology major this class wasn't super important but I decided to take it anyways to fulfill a requirement. BEST. DECISION. EVAR. Jude is such an awesome professor. Super knowledgeable about the subject and really approachable. If you ever have any questions definitely go see him during office hours. The midterm and final are both online/timed. If you go to class and pay attention you'll do fine in class. I bought the book and it was soft of helpful during the midterm but other than that, not really. If you're on the fence about this class, take it! You won't regret it.

Professor Egan is the best. He is such a great guy!!! He is super laid back and a easy grader. He wishes he could give everyone As just for learning. He teaches very practical material. I found his lectures extremely interesting. You get out of class early a lot. Take him if you have the chance, you won't regret it. The class has a midterm, a paper, and a final. Midterm and final are online and the paper requires you to observe at the courthouse which is really cool. I LOVE HIM

Egan is the greatest teacher I've had at Cal Poly. He is hilarious, but knows exactly what he is doing and how to explain it so the students understand. Very little homework, just one project that is very interesting and was not hard at all. His tests are open book take home tests so you have no reason to ever get a bad grade. You will want to show up to his class, which usually only goes 1.5 hours and then he lets you out. You will not regret taking a class with this man.

I absolutely loved Jude, he is the man. Occasionally his lectures get a little boring but he'll notice and let class out early or tell a funny story from his law practice. Theres a midterm, a linkedin page, a paper and a final; none of which are hard if you put in the effort. He reviews the day before tests on whats important which is usually helpful to narrow done what to focus on. Honestly I just went to class most of the time and followed instructions on syllabus and got an A, it was not that hard but I also learned alot. Overall I loved Jude and this class

Professor Egan's class was my favorite class this quarter. His lectures are interesting, and he has a very relaxed teaching style. There are only four assignments in the class: a midterm, a final (both tests on Poly Learn), a paper and a LinkedIn page. He is an easy grader, and he doesn't assign tons of reading. I would definitely recommend this class as an elective if you are at all interested in law.

Egan is the definition of inconsistent. His grading is the most inconsistent and unexplained I have ever seen. It is literally as if he flips a coin on what to give you. He is a cool dude, but a lousy teacher. His midterm and final are online. We did an essay about going to the courthouse, which I slaved over, and it was never even graded. He doesn't grade his "Linkedin" assignment. He is an overall poor teacher and I would not recommend.

I am actually the person below who wrote "Dr." but I accidentally his submit evaluation after only writing "Dr." Anyways, Dr. Egan is an awesome professor! He was very passionate about the class, especially towards the end of the quarter. He is also very knowledgeable about the material and tests you on the material said in class. He is very easy-going and accommodates to student needs. Take Dr. Egan, he is cool!

Jude is an amazing professor! He is very helpful and moves along with the pace of the class. He is very helpful during his office hours and is very flexible with his midterms and with student needs. I highly recommend taking Jude if you can. He is a new professor here, and so far I think he's doing an awesome job!

WOW! Judge is totally awesome. He is a very understanding professor and is very flexible. His midterm was very tough, but he curved it! He knows what he is talking about and his lectures are easy to follow. He is also funny and to-the-point with his lectures. Definitely take his classes!

Jude is a great professor and adds a lot of value to the Political Science department. He is very laid back and has a lot of knowledge in the subject matter. He is very approachable and genuinely wants to see his students succeed. His teaching style is very to-the-point, which is makes the material easy to understand. Not only that, but the material was also interesting (especially towards the end of the course). He had an online midterm and exam. They were not necessarily easy, but if you attended class and at least briefly read the assignments you'll do well. Definitely take a class with Jude.

Egan.... is a beast. He has top-notch experience in the field, a heart of gold, and is pretty damn funny once you get to know him. He knows his shit and has adapted quickly to the various demands of the courses he teaches. Despite being a lawyer, he is not jaded, nor is he an asshole. Who would have known those existed? Anyways, take this guy if you get a chance. Between him and Den Otter the law side of the Political Science spectrum at CP is fairly well covered by awesome profs.
