This guy is not really a professor he does not know how to teach at all, he assigns readings on blackboard which are pages scanned from a book at a terrible resolution and basically impossible to read. Not only that he makes you read about 30 pages but never makes a clear connection between his lectures and the assign readings. every day in class about 5 students left early, people would just stand up and leave because he made absolutely no sense. the two hour lectures seemed to last FOREVER. Not only that but his assigments are not clearly stated, he is unexperienced and doesnt really know what the hell he is doing, my high school teachers were much better than him. seriously if you take this guy you wont really learn anything which sucks because the class is a support meaning you will need it in the future so i recommend you take someone else or wait till he is not teaching the class

His class had to be the biggest waste of two hours. Cutting out early was the only was to escape the agony of his class. First of all his grading system consists of a total of 100 points. 3 ten point assignments, 10 participation points, 20 midterm and 30 final. This has to be the worst system to grade with. Every point was 1% of your grade and on the assigments he never made any marks about the content of the project, but just grammar marks. Which was annoying because he never really made that clear. The midterms and finals clearly show his inexpiernce with teaching because when you can spend a week studying the lecture notes and notes from the review session and none of it helps at all on the final, you question where he makes the test from. the only way to really grasp the main vague as hell "concepts" of this class was to sit thru the 2 hour straight bland lectures. Just don;t take him then i wont be forced to write extensively about every stupid thing he does in his class.

I agree with the other ratings of professor Doyle. He isn't interested in helping the students learn and is far more interested in hearing himself talk than answering concerns. There also doesn't seem to be any clear direction as to what his grading requirements are. He made enthusiastic comments about some people's work, yet they wound up with only average grades. Plus, it's really creepy that he's dating a student. If you can take this class with another prof., I'd recommend it.

doyle was an exceptional teacher. he really cares about his students and wants them to understand what planning is all about. he is probably the smartest man i have ever met and he wants to share his knowledge with the students. he has witty comments that make the class less boring at times because it's two straight hours of lecturing, which can get boring after a while. my only complaint was that his test questions were vague. overall i would definitely recommend doyle and im going to take his classes in the future.

I took CRP 215 with D. Gregg Spring 04. And I read his evaluations and don't think he got the credit he deserves as a good professor. I think he is empathetic to the student needs. Yes he is a hard grader and expects you to write well. But he teaches you how to think and perform at the college level. Also, like someone said earlier he has lots of knowledge to share. Take his classes, you will learn a lot.

D. Gregg is one of the most approachable instructors at Cal Poly. However, he has a pet-peeve regarding commas, hyphens & mis-used words. I think that grammar questions are NOT appropriate on mid-terms or finals. Save those for the English department!

Basically this class is a joke. I had an A no even if i got a c on the final. The essays can be a little hard but the final presentation is easy except that we have to work in a group with sucks. D.Gregg is a great teacher and the class is very interesting! take it for sure and definelty with D.Gregg over anyone else.

D.Gregg is a new professor to the CRP dept. and his first 410 lab shows how he is only interested in impressing his peers, at the cost of his students. D.Gregg likes to hear himself talk, using entire lab days for lectures of material covered in previous CRP courses rather than for actual lab assignments. He assigns projects with unreasonable deadlines which forces you to skip other classes to complete projects because he gives little to no in class lab time to do work. When taking this professor for this lab expect four hour lectures & no lab work time, expect your other classes to suffer, expect no sleep, and expect him to put more time into looking good for the other faculty than actually teaching.

D.Gregg may lack sensitivity to student needs, but he has a lot of knowledge to offer. He is also motivated on many issues, which in itself can make class more exciting than classes offered by drab over-tenured professors that lack a fire inside. Ask, and he will help.
