i wrote a comment bout the teacher so bad last time it was deleted by the web keeper. i came back to make sure poeple werent goign to take this teacher and found the message deleted. in order for my comments about how bad he is to not be deleted this time i will tone down my words. 1)take yin over him!!! 2) petition to the dean to have this fake removed from the program and may he stay retired!! 3) if you do have him, do make your project a glass cube with as little creativity and thought as possible and you will get an A. TaDA !! if you attempt to think you will fail, if you attempt to try to work hard you will fail..... the key here if you do somehow get stuck in this class is to work as little as possible and make a cube. i cant stress enough that he only wants a cube. if you work had at a design it doesnt matter if it isnt a cube!! i think you see where i am going with this. i hope no one ever has to take him again and if you have had him before please write more warnings so others will not take him too.

Amanzio's evaluations are really harsh on here. I didn't feel like it was as bad as people say, but I can see how people might misinterpret him. See, he tries to let you solve your own problems and make them your own. And maybe after a few shots in the dark, he'll tell you how he's seeing the problem. Maybe he's right. In any case, take his POV for what it's worth. Make it your own. Or make it right, if you see it differently. It's a little hard wondering what he's expecting, but I think he just wants your best. Granted, sometimes he won't hear things the way you intended them, but that can happen in communication. And it does get frustrating if all you're looking for is easy answers. His class is very computer based, so it's not for the digitally weak. He'll train you a little, and you shouldn't need more than what he gives you. Keep in mind that he does appreciate the ability to go from idea, to sketch, to computer... y'know? Don't take all the analog stuff you learned for granted. We are designers, and sometimes the computer is way too slow. I must say my glasses can be somewhat rose-colored when it comes to my teachers. Like I didn't think EDES 101 was so bad. And I did like Yip and Denel. So maybe I'm naive.

Joe is a very difficult person to read. His instructions on a project are very unclear and when asked to clarify what he means he responds with a wry smile and "what do you think I meant" as if he is trying to be some smart-ass character from Fountainhead. At the end of the qaurter review, he gives remarks that lend one to believe a good grade is in store. However, my actual grade was lower than what I expected and what others in the class thought I deserved. His approach to grade "negotiation" is frustrating. His response is "although you did work well enough to get an A, I gave you the grade you got because I get that feeling everyonce in awhile that the project is a "B" project." I am baffled by his responses to students and his ability to relate to them (completely non-existent). I would recommend that this teacher be avoided at all expense.

I felt that there was a lack of communication on expectations for the class. It was unclear many times on what he wanted in the projects. I also thought that the professor would be teaching more about the computer programs to us as opposed to the students learning on their own. I personally do not learn very well that way and I felt I didn't learn as much as I should have in this class. I was very disappointed.

Absolutly worthless! I learned nothing from him personally. I learned everything on my own from reading and working with others in the class. It was the same as if he never showed up so then why are we paying this guy who is just lazy and dosen't have a clue what the word ARCHITECTURE really means. Also, don't ask him any questions technically or design wise either because he just ends up being very vague and it is clear that he is a deer in the headlights.

This class is awwwwwwweful. I Should have taken Yin. You go to class, stare at your desk and go home 5 hours later. This university is running the architecture department into the ground. Why do they keep retired teachers on the payroll????!!!

Joe is an unimaginative drone, who would be perfect for the person who wants to punch a time clock and wear a tie, upon getting out of school. His biggest downfall, in my opinion, is his lack of personality, and inability to communicate or inspire. A very dull, and unhappy person.

Even at a second-rate architecture, Mr. Amanzio is a third-rate teacher. He is rigid in his teaching style and not very knowledgeable about anything beyond a certain set of software. A dogmatic dinosaur who should retire soon before another generation of students is turned off by his approach to "teaching" design. Even Hasslein would be better!

He is inconsistent with his teaching style: habitually late for class, is unreliable, and is very unclear about what he expects from students. This class is exclusively self-motivating.

He's the most dull professor I've ever met in my life. He needs to retire soon, so the school could give the chance to new fresh talent waiting to teach in this Architecture Department (which needs some change...)
