Dr. Freed is a great professor. This was her first quarter of teaching IME 301 and she did a really good job. If you didn't understand something during lecture, she's more than happy to help during her office hours. I'm really looking foward to take some more IME classes with her.

She is a great professor. She really knows Operations Research and it is something that she is interested in outside of the classroom. She has a LOT of patience with students, which sometimes can mean the class moves a little slowly, but does make it so most if not all people understand it. She is excellent in her office hours and really wants to help you know the information. I never had to read the book (which was terrible) because her lectures were sufficient to do well in the class. Just stay on top of the homework and pay attention in class. That's it. Def. take her if you want to know O.R.

She is a very good professor although she is a bit disorganized. Lectures are clear, to the point, and very easy to understand. This class is really laid-back as homework load is pretty light and that class usually gets out early. Even so, she spends lots of time talking about her adventures as an RFID researcher and brings in guest speakers to talk about her industry. Anyway, tests are pretty easy as she hands out sample tests from previous quarters to let you know exactly what to expect on the exams. She is very sociable and likes to communicate with students, as well. The only problem with her is her organization in that she tends to spend too much time on one topic (although most of the things towards the end of the syllabus were 407 stuff). Too bad she is not doing the whole series (She does OR I and III) because if she did, I would do the whole series. Somehow, Seifodini is doing the second part, who is awful beyond repair and to be avoided at all costs. Take Freed.

Tali is an incredible person, she is more than a professor to her students which enables a deeper level of learning. She gives decent tests, and grades on the students ability and improvement rather than just the raw score of points earned. If you are teetering between an A and a B, she'll help you out. Take her, no doubt, one of the best IME prof's we have!

Freed is an excellent professor because she really cares about her students. Her lectures are very easy to understand and tests are easy enough to do well. She gives out sample tests from previous quarters to give you an idea of what is on the test. The lectures usually do not last the whole two hours so you usually get out early. Overall, she is very student-oriented and that she will always help if you are in great need.

oh i hope the dean of engineering reads these comments.... she's the LAZIEST professor i've seen at poly.... she doesn't lecture, she's never ready to lecture, and very selective.. i hope she stops teaching and find another profession... good luck to her future students (avoid her if u can) very sad

Great teacher, but you can just tell that at times she is overwhellmed by everything else she has going on outside of the classroom. This resulted in a number of unprepared lectures, canceled classes, and a slight disorganization of the class. However she was very clear when she taught, gave us time to buy our book from some place other than the bookstore, and made herself very availble for helping students.

Freed was a very good professor and the material was interesting. When we did have class, there was a lot of good information and examples. Still, it seemed like a lot of class time was wasted on field trips and days off. Make sure to read the textbook well - she likes to ask a lot of questions on the tests about real-life applications of the methods and other random stuff.

Tali is the man. She is a very nice person and willing to help you whenever. Just be honest with her and actually try, and I guarantee you will succeed. She wants you to do good and cares. Take Tali because Tali wants to take you.

Just remember to study. I think one reason I got a bad grade is that I thought this class was too easy, so I didn't care too much. Her teaching style is a pretty unorganized but she knows her stuff.

Tali was a good lecturer, and super helpful in office hours. She wants you to do well, so ask questions if you have them and go to office hours! She is so nice and will help you if you are struggling. 301 is kind of a joke. She goes really slowly through the class and canceled the activity 6 weeks out of the quarter. If you put any effort at all into studying for the midterm and quizzes you will have no problem with the class.

I really enjoyed IME 301 with Tali. She was very knowledgeable and very willing to help students. I also really enjoyed the project that was assigned for the quarter. It was pretty straightforward and all of the student presentations really helped in understanding all pf the possible problem topics that exist and was a good review for the final. Workload was fairly light as well. Would highly recommend this professor!

Very relaxed class with lots of help if you don't understand the material. As a non-ime major, i find the class very interesting and easy with no more then 2-3 hours per week for studying/homework.Homework submission time is not strict and 1 quiz is dropped out of 3.Final was pretty straight forward as I barely studied and I got an A- on it. Highly recommend if you need an engineering support.

Tali is like a mixed bag to me. The concepts are fairly easy and understand. The way she presents to them is dazzling. I feel like she improvises once she starts lecturing, like she assigns textbook problems on the spot on labs. I don't like the times she holds office hours, they are on Monday and Friday and I had some questions about the homework and they're usually due on Thursday. It was a good experience and I was creeped out that she memorizes around 60 people's name in a classroom.

Tali is an amazing professor. She gave thoughtful and relevant feedback, and treated everyone like adults. She challenged myself and other people in the class without making the class feel like a challenge. She was always super helpful in office hours and really took interest in what you thought about things. Every day I walked into her class I felt like I mattered as a person, which is a rare experience at this school. Despite only getting a B I felt like I really took a lot away from the class. The only thing that I think some of us in the class struggled with was that some requirements for homework were not always clear, and she didn't really talk about what to expect on the final in class. She cleared all of that up though as long as you asked her, so no big deal. I would HIGHLY recommend taking a class with Tali.

Tali is a great person to get to know and network with, but she is an awful professor. She is disorganized and lacks structure with her course. One would expect a professor to teach, but half the time she cancels class or ends it early, making her availability for class help extremely low. While it's fun at first, she spends way too much time teaching students how to dance to Turkish music. If she taught class material for half as log as she spent dancing, maybe she'd receive a higher rating from me. Overall, go to Tali's office hours (when she's actually there and on time) to get to know her, but please avoid having her as a professor if possible. She is too lazy to be a useful professor and would be much better off sticking to RFID consulting.

Tali is the bomb. Super entertaining, interesting professor. 301 consists of 4 quizzes worth 20% of the grade each, very fair. The other 20% consists of homework and a project. Furthermore she offers a generous extra credit final which you can take at the end of the quarter if you are not happy with your grade and want to work extra for more points.

Tali is an amazing professor. She really understands OR, and after having learned OR from several different professors, I now have a deeper appreciation for how well Tali teaches the fundamentals. She stays on a subject for longer than necessary sometimes just to make sure that everyone grasps it. She is also super helpful in office hours and really wants to help you succeed. She also brought in cookies for everyone during our midterm. Take her if you have the opportunity!

Tali is so great! The only complaint I have is that she was a little unorganized and missed a decent amount of class (all for very valid reasons, but still) she is super involved in outside activities which do take over and effect the amount of time she spends with our class (not very much) but she is very nice and knows A LOT on the topics she is teaching. She's really fun and I do recommend going to class because the stuff on the slides doesn't have solutions. If you take notes while she is teaching and get help on the HW you'll be more than fine. The 4 tests she gives us are problems straight from the powerpoints pretty much so notes are very important!!

She is a great teacher. Those that have put in bad opinions might have had her during her first quarter here. Since then she has gotten settled and is now a GREAT professor. She is always willing to help you understand. She KNOWS her stuff and will explain it until you do as well. Unforutnately she does go over the hmwk EVERday in class, but I think that she might be moving past that. It makes DOING your homework kind of pointless...that is UNTIL THE EXAM. Shs is Fair and knows not only if you understand it, but also if you're TRYING. Too many people now expect Average work to get them an A..... Average is a C...don't take it out on the professors because you've half assed it. You'll learn a lot, have a decent time, and get the course over with. What else do you want?

Tali knows her stuff but she failed this quarter at teaching us. The things she taught us couldve been done in 3 weeks tops, she seemed really overwhelmed this quarter and it seemed as if our class was low on her priority. I feel like she couldve taught us a lot more.

Tali, is a very knowledgable instructor however she is terrible at time management. She is flakey and appears to never have time for anything. She takes on too much maybe? Secondly, she is the most unorganized professor ever. Constantly changing the schedule, canceling class by having someone else write on the white board instead of email something. Its frustrating. Very knowledgable but should NOT be a professor.

dr freed was one of the best teachers i had at cal poly. she explains the material very well and makes sure most of us are on top of it. i had her for 301 and 407. 301 was really great. 407 wasn't quite as good because she tried a student presentation method that didn't work so well with the huge class we had because everyone insisted on taking it with her. still she is one of the nicest profs even when she doesn't have much time because she is into rfid research.

Freed is very knowledgable about IE topics, specifically Ops Management so she knows what she is talking about. The problem with this class this quarter was the students were the ones doing the talking. I appreciated her allowing us to work as teams and gain that experience, however I would've appreciated more input and teaching from the teacher. I know that we could've learned more and I would have gained a lot more insight into what we discussed, however I got an A so I really can't complain. I know Freed was really busy with Golden Jubilee and getting the RFID lab ready for classes but I think this class could be organized a little better. She's a great teacher normally and not to be avoided.

dr Freed is knowledgable about OR and RFID. But with the structure of the class I was not able to grasp as much of the material as i liked to. The students were divided into groups then presented the material during lecture. WE had a midterm(which all the students struggled) and a final and a evaluation from the presentaion. I agree with the previous comment, I would've appreciated more input and teaching from the teacher. She is not to be avoided.

I did not learn a thing from Dr. Freed. She's a nice lady but needs to change her teaching style. It is very obvious that she doesn't know Pro-Model at all, she showed us the same simple simulation over and over again just to try to teach. All the labs consisted of her randomly picking a few questions at the end of the lab section and saying "now ask the TA's if you have any questions, I'll be in my office". And this is only for the first few labs, after that, she said we didn't have to turn anything in, we just had to know it for the final. how were we supposed to know what we were supposed to know when she didn't teach us about it? Then there was "lecture". Dr. Freed never felt it necessary to prepare for class (which definitely didn't make me feel like I should prepare either!) One day she actually came in, asked us if we knew about the topic, when we said we didn't, she said we would spend the day looking it up on the internet. The midterm was open notes, open book, and most of us did terrible. What?!?! Well, her questions were extremely general and she was looking for extremely specific answers. She also said that the test was mostly from the lecture - but she didn't lecture!!! I can say for a fact that the rest of the class was just as confused as I was about the objectives of the class - she never announced things and seemed to make things up all the time. Good luck to all IME students who pretty much will have to take her.

Tali is a very nice person and if you can track her down she is very willing to help you. However, I chose her as my senior project advisor knowing that she cancels office hours and class often. I figured it wouldn't be a problem. BUT, I would come to her office hours and several times she did not show up, and she did not let me know that she wasn't coming. I understand that she teaches several classes and does consulting outside of school, but sending a simple email letting students know that she will not be at office hours takes a total of 30 seconds. Beware of choosing Tali as an advisor. The best way to get help from her is face to face, but that is difficult since she can be very hard to track down. On the other hand, when she did give me input about my project it was usually positive, and I got an A for the quarter.
