frawley was frickin awesome. Hes gotta be my favorite teacher ive ever had. He really enjoys what he teaches and teaches it really well. He's not just a teacher but he also is a friend, he tries to adjust to your schedule, like if you had conflicting classes he'd make arrangements to get you the info you missed. Frawleys awesome and i recommend everoen take him. His style of teaching and his enjoyment of teaching made me interested in agb, even though i wasnt interested at all in it at the beginning of the quarter. TAKE EVERY CLASS FRAWLEY IS TEACHING...I GUARUNTEE YOULL SHOW UP FOR ALL OF THE CLASSES

Frawley was a great teacher! He made the class very fun. There is quite a bit of homework and he gives pop quizzes every once in a while to keep you on your toes, but he is still a great teacher! I would very strongly recommend that you take him!

ANY CLASS WITH FRAWLEY TAKE IT. If you DON'T like one of the nicest teachers on campus then you have a serios problem. Frawley is such a down to Earth professor who wants all of his students to succeed. I don't know how anyone could say something mean about the guy. Anyways the class is not to difficult if you do the slides and show up for the tests. He made the class a lot of fun and I am definatly going to take him for more ABG classes. HIGHLY RECCOMEND!!!!!

101 is easy, so don't worry about who you take. However, Frawley helped me with other AGB and career planning things. I wish I took him as a freshmen so he could have helped me plan out my time at poly. He's a nice guy, if you have problems with anything, go to his office hours, he's very accomodating. Some people find his midterms hard because his class is so laid back that they think the tests will be cake, but they are not. If you go to class, take notes and the tests wont be so tough.

At first I didn't really like Frawley. But as the quarter went on, I realized he was a good teacher. He has real life experience and applies that to his class. He realizes 101 is a basic intro course and doesn't expect anything outragous. Some homework, a price comparison paper, and some quizzes/tests. I thought he ended up being a really good guy and I plan on taking him again.

Frawley loves his job. He always tells stories and switches up the lectures. It is not a hard class at all. You have a few one page papers to write and a big one at the end. He grades fairly and as long as you study for his tests they are easy. I loved this class and will definitely try to get Frawley again in the future! Take Frawley!

Frawley is a must take teacher. I would highly recomend any student to take Frawley. I am a freshmen and hope that future teachers are just like Frawley.

WOW! Tom is a great teacher...I looked forward to coming to this class everyday. He learned everyone's name, just like we had to! When I see him on campus he still says hello. He demonstrates the characteristics of a teacher that I was looking for when I came to Poly.(Not to mention he is a great piecce of eye candy!!!)

Frawley was the best teacher I have ever had so far at Poly. His lectures are easy to follow and he often makes the, entertaining with his funny jokes. If you do all the work required and put some time into it, then you will get a good grade in the class. THere is only one midterm and he gives you all the questions beforehand, and the final consists of a take home assignment. Take Frawley if you want to have a fun, somewhat easy class.

Frawley is an awesome teacher! He makes jokes in class, and makes the class enjoyable. You never want to miss a day in class because you'll be curious what you missed out on. The class is very easy, and you learn alot. If you want a good grade, and a great class to go to...choose frawley's 202 class!

HE IS THE SHIT!!! Frawley is by far the best AGB teacher you can take. He is so cool and he is hilarious. He turns out to be more of a helping friend than a scrutinizing teacher. He knows what he is doing and his experience in agriculture makes him the best teach available. His homework load is light, he is flexible with the notes, and always takes his students opinions into thought before making a decision. His tests are incredibly easy as long as you do the minimal reading each night. Frawley is a fair and easy grader. Take Frawley for every AGB class you can. He's awesome!

I definitely learned a lot in his class. Frawley previously worked in the produce industry, so he really knows about the topics covered in 202 (sales, communication, and leadership). Probably a professor who could help you find a job or internship later because he has so many connections in the private sector. The only thing I didn't like about this class is that he is not always clear what his grading criteria is, which is part of the reason I ended up with a B+ instead of an A. Overall, a pretty chill guy. If I could have a beer with one of my professors, it would be Frawley.

One of the best Professors I have had in a long time. Frawley is a straight forward guy with no b/s, grades very fair and is crystal clear about everything from assignments to his lectures. Very organized. Has real world experience which he applies to the class during every lecture, and is enthusiastic about what he teaches and is pretty funny at times. Keep up with the work load (it's not bad): You'll have a few quizzes, in-class assignments, multiple papers, a speech, a 7-10 term project (which is actually very enjoyable when you do it) and 3 exams. All in all the class was very manageable, my advice is to be there every class or you'll miss a lot of points with in-class assignments and quizzes. Also, the exams are somewhat difficult so study hard for them. BUT if you keep up with all of the work you can get an A in the class even with an average exam score of an 83 (first hand experience) Will take a class by him for sure if the opportunity comes about!

Frawley is the bomb. While he is virtually impossible to get a hold of by email, he does have office hours and class time to clarify/ask questions. I took the night class, and the only thing that kept me awake was the fast paced lecture slides and the breaks that he gave us about half-way through the 2 hr lectures. He has a 'day with an agribusiness professional' assignment that is easy- only if you find one early and get it out of the way. Otherwise you're screwed. We also play the 'name game' and have to learn everyone's name- at first it's stressful, but if you're a freshman it'll be especially fun. The midterms are also pretty difficult, make sure to read the book and review the slides- it's all there. He may also not give a final, but instead give three midterms throughout the quarter, the last being on the last day of lecture.

Tom is by far the best teacher I have had here at Cal Poly!!! He really likes to help his students out in any way he can! Frawley is by far the best teacher I have had at Cal Poly. Econ isn't the most exciting class in the world, but Frawley gets you almost excited about it. You can tell that his heart is in his teaching and that he genuinely cares how his students are doing. To not do well in this class you have to be a moron... Frawley couldn't give you anymore help. He writes out all his outlines for you and there are a bazillion opportunities for extra credit. The tests are average. Actually they are easy as long as you have everything you need on your cheat sheet. This class was great and so is Frawley. I would recommend him in a heartbeat for any class he is teaching.

Tom has such a passion for economics and he passes that passion on to students. He is VERY helpful and even came in on the weekends to hold study sessions for the two midterms and final. Some of the material can be challenging, but he goes over any questions you have thoroughly and allows you to have a cheat sheet for all the exams. There wasn't a lot of homework and it was pretty easy at that. Tom is one of the best teachers I have ever had in all my years of school!!

BEST TEACHER IN AGB!!! The class material is boring and Frawley knows it so its not that bad. He understands college life outside a class room so the work load is light. He grades easy on the homework, but you have to study a some for the tests. And watch for him you may see him hanging out at a party or at the bars! Frawley is not a very good teacher. He tries to play himself off as a cool guy in the beggining of the quarter, but he is really a jerk. I have a verified learning disability and he would never sign my DRC form correctly. He screwed up multiple times! i thought he was a good teacher. his lectures are really easy to understand which helps out a lot. i never read the book other than the one hw assignment we had to do in it. He doesnt take roll but i'd definitely recommend going to every class...itd be really difficult to make up on ur own. I got a B but thats probably because i underestimated his first midterm and didnt do well on it. his lectures are easy, but his midterms are hard! so you may think you know everything and are prepared without studying very much, but study anyways cuz they'll probably surprise you. all in all, i learned a lot from him, i felt he prepared me well for 313.

Frawley is pretty much the best teacher I've ever had. He presents the material effectively, and ACTUALLY CARES that you understand it. That's what makes him such a great teacher. He realizes what people have problems with and not only goes over it but holds after hours study groups. YES GROUPS, NOT LECTURES. I went to him to try and work out my schedule for the next few years, and he was so really enthusiastic about helping out. His real life experience has really benefited the students here. Frawley usually gets so excited about the tests and what not and wants us to do well, so he sends the whole class emails about what to study, and what concepts/main points he might ask questions on. This was my second time taking him, 7-9 AM tues and thurs, just because he was teaching. I'll take him at every chance I get.

Frawley is a really nice guy but a bit assumptious. As a Nutrition major with a concentration in culinary science, his assumptions that I had taken 101, 402 and other AGB classes made it difficult to understand what he was talking about at times. He thinks that everyone there has had basic AGB and so knows what he is talking about. However, if you see him after class and talk to him he'll take the time to get to know you and even throw in references to your interests or major during lecture. My largest complaint though is that we had daily reading quizzes, and then he would repeat all the material we were just quizzed on in powerpoint format without adding anything new. His life stories were interesting and applicable, but redundant after he had repeated them endlessly and used the same example for every situation. I did well in the class because of the group project, which really applies your knowledge to a real-life idea. The tests were somewhat ambiguous and could leave you open-ended to bomb an essay. Overall a nice guy, decent teacher, and somewhat interesting class.

Frawley ROCKS! He gives a study guide which lists every topic that is going to be on the test so basically go to the back of the book and learn these key terms and you got an A. Mr. Frawley should NOT be teaching AGB 406. Yes, he has experience in Produce, but when it comes to marketing he only knows what he learned when he went to college here. I could teach the class better. If you had to choose between Frawley or Wolf, don't even hesitate = take Wolf. Save yourself the worries and stress, don't take Mr. Frawley. Also, with Marianne's class you jump right in and start working on your marketing plan for your client. However, with Tom, you waste the first 2 weeks by working on an assigned marketing plan that has NOTHING to do with your AGB 406 final marketing plan. That was a waste of time. So, take my advice, and DON'T TAKE FRAWLEY!

Frawley had the BIGGEST mood swings. One minute he loves the group and project and then the next thing you know he hates everything. He has a memory the size of a fish, doesn't like anything anyone does. If you have to have Frawley for 406, make sure you do a wine project, and not produce (which he knows about). If you do wine, you could tell him anything and he will go along with it. If you can take Wolf, I highly suggest her!

The work load for this course was intense but, definetely doable. Tom made him self readily available at all times in order to help the students. It was nice not having to meet for an actual lecture for most of the quarter and just meet within our groups. He recognized when some group members slacked off and who worked harder and grades reflected this. He does have a produce background, and although doing a non-produce related project may be the easy way to go, you will only learn more by taking advantage of the opportunity of working with Tom. My group felt like we were the least favored group the entire quarter but in the end the client, Tom, and the group were very satisfied with our results.

I am a Graduate Student, who interns for an Organic Farm (the largest farm in North America, and the number 4 organic brand in the nation). Needless to say, I 'get' produce and all aspects (sales, marketing, r&d, PR, policy, etc...) I never missed class. Always had questions prepared for the stupid guest lecturers the two 'professors' pulled out of their magic kiss ass hat. Diligently turned in all papers and received full credit. Used part of my thesis research as my final project for the food fair that was staged in class and received high praise from all visiting professors and appreciation from students. So what did I receive grade-wise? B So I emailed the Vix and Frawley and was told to stop by Frawley's office in the Fall to ask for an A. ASK FOR AN A? This class is stupid, a waste of time, and I really hated that Vix warned the class to be nice to the Walmart schmuck they brought into the classroom. Come on fellas, its not a board room or a University Foundation meeting, its a classroom. Where we are supposed to challenge ourselves and learn...and that might involve tough questions and answers. Honestly. Skip this class. Its easy, impossible to get an A, and you'll learn little (unless you're an idiot and then you might learn even less).
