Fine teacher, but a little dry in the presentation. I wouldnt suggest having her at 8:00 in the morning, might be difficult staying awake.

I had Dr. Brown for Intro to Horticulture. DO NOT TAKE HIM! Unless you like feeling stupiid and talked down to. He thinks he is the greatest thing since sliced bread. He thinks our generation is unknowledgeable and does not know valid information that is usefull in daily life. He has to put his opinon into everything! It is really annoying. If you have a guest speaker, just assume he will do most of the talking. He loves to interupt. AVOID IF POSSIBLE.

If you're a white, ginger, freckled male with a farming background, take this class. If you're not, avoid at all costs. He's the typical ivy league graduate; always name dropping his college (Cornell). He may have brain damage, considering he walked straight into a clearly marked room full of pesticides. Teaching wise, he's okay. Just easy to make fun of.

There isn't much of another way to put it other then that Dr. Brown is an asshole. He expects students to not take notes in class and pay attention to what he is saying instead. He claims you don't have to take notes in class because he posts his notes to the Class's polylearn but what he doesn't tell you is that he delete half of the material. He also does this ridiculous system where he will spend 2-3 classes going through a power point with absolutely no writing about a topic then once he gets through the power point he opens up a word doc, blows it up to 400% magnification and scrolls through it too fast to take notes on. You you see the pictures and the accompanying material sometimes a week apart and you don't have any time to write anything. Honestly avoid if you can

Dr. Brown is the most arrogant peice of work i have ever seen. he was my advisor before i was kicked out of poly and he thought that he was the shit. lectures are horrible and he uses his phd vocabulary in a 100 level class. he will lecture on irrelevant information that will not be on the test. what are on his tests are covered in the last ten minutes of class that he is trying to catch up on because he was blowing smoke up your ass the first 3/4 of lecture. if you have brown for an advisor i would suggest an immediate change and i would never take another class with brown if i could help it. suck it easy brown.

I am so confused by all of your comments!! Dr Brown was one of the best teachers I had at Cal Poly. SUCH a nice guys and very helpful, and we got free veggies after lab. I learned a lot and really loved having him. Y'all be trippin, sorry college is hard, it's not his fault you don't like studying.

AEPS 190 Dr. Brown is a dick. half the people don't show to his lecture because its so damn boring. If you ever have a problem, get ready for him to talk down to you as if he is better than you. He's kind just an ass. DO NOT TAKE HIS CLASS. if another teacher offers I take that

Wyatt Brown should stop feeding at the public trough and try surviving in the real world. He would quickly learn that he is, at best, a mediocre teacher who is his own biggest fan. Cal Poly needs to cleanse itself of detritis like him and instead bring in new faculty who have more to offer than just arrogance.

He is so boring. He tries to hard to impress with usage of the english language then convey the information at hand. He definately has favorites and it shows. His class are seem to be the longest 50 min of your life. He is by the book and and seems like he doesnt really care how you do but how the rules are followed, he kinda sucks. Avoid him if possible

Professor Brown SUCKS! No offense but his teaching style is horrible! It was a good class, interesting as well. YOU NEED TO PAY EXTRA ATTENTION TO PASS. I have friends who are good students drop the class because they couldn't stand to sit through 50 minutes of the most boring lecturer. He teaches proper english during his lectures and hates it when others don't. He is very picky with the way he teaches. Stay on his good side and become one of his favorites, if not, good luck passing the class.

By far the worst, most arrogant professor I have had in my many years of school. If you do not have an ag background, are not interested in vegetable science, and you don't like demoralizing teachers... don't take this class. He prides himself on making his students feel stupid

Dr Brown is a good lecturer. His classes were always informatative, clear, and he did his best to make it interesting. His lecture and grading style make it easy to do well if you pay attention. There are bonus extra credit problems to help your grade. He has a quiz every 2-3 weeks which he warns you about well in advance. The mid term and final are exactly like the quizes so it is not a surprise. The class is fair and well taught. It was fun to learn what all those weird looking vegetables in the grocery store are called.

Dr. Brown is an interesting teacher. Besides the fact that the labs are totally boring, I actually learned alot from this guy. He isn't the best at communicating with students, but he is really intelligent and has alot of information to offer. His tests are reasonable and he offers extra credit numerous times. Plus... he gives you great vegetable recipes in lab.

Professor Brown is a picky professor who knows his material well and will engage students in it if they are interested. What he obviously doesn't like are smart asses who interrupt him or lower the classes ability to focus on what we are studying. I you tend to be a smart ass, don't take his class, you'll be miserable and make the rest of us miserable as well. If, however, you want a professor you can really learn something from, Brown is your guy. He is a fair grader, teaches the material and expects it back on tests. Labs are generally interesting.

I took this class as an AGB support. Avoid this class at all costs if taught by Brown. The guy is really smart and loves the class but it is rediculous how much material he requires you to know for quizzes and exams, especially for a class where the course information is basically useless to all in attendance (unless you are a farmer or tractor driver). He requires you to learn the latin root names of every vegetable to ever be harvested in the history of the world, what type of plant it is and other useless information. there are 2 tests like that. He loves to brag about a PhD from Cornell and correct grammar on essays or even when you talk with him one on one...a total prick. The class is huge but he knows when you miss class and will question you about it later even though attendance is not part of the grade on the syllabus. Looking for an Ag elective/support? TAKE SOMEONE ELSE unless u enjoy 400 level type courses.

His class was interesting and conveyed a lot of information. His tests ask for this information. Know EVERYTHING he says in lecture. Overall, a good teacher, and a stereotypical college class.

Brown is an interesting teacher. He makes really inappropiate jokes about drugs and is convinced that all college kids do is drink, screw, and coke. His lectures give you the most basic info and his tests are on the most ridiculous detail. As far as conveying information, he sucks. I was waiting for an in class evaluation, but it never came. If it did come, I would say that he is often extremelly inappropiate and about as boring as it comes. I took this class because all the other classes were full. You must go to lecture even though it does nothing for you or else he starts to hate you and becomes very vocal about it. Don't bring cough drops to class either. He would pause and wait for me to finish with mine to return to his lecture.

Dr. Brown is a truly unique professor. If you don't go to class and you don't come from a farming family... God help you. I personally have no prior farming experience so I felt lost at times. He is a really funny guy and loves to call people out when they come to class hungover. He curves at the end of the quarter and the final wasn't too bad. I would recommend taking any class with Dr. Brown if you like a teacher who tries to make class interesting and fun.

Professor Brown is obvisously very intellegient and passionate about his subject. His lectures can be very interesting or can put you to sleep. He posts outlines to the majority of his lectures blackboard, but if you actually want to know what is going to be on the test, go to class everyday. He often says that you don't need to write things down, but I would anyways-related subjects have a tendency to pop up on quizzes and midterms. I had to take this class for my major, but I am glad I took it; I learned a lot in additon to my vegetable crop background. Just remember to go to all the classes, and don't take his sense of humor to personally.

Dr. Wyatt J. Brown is the most arrogant piece of fecal matter at Cal Poly. He swears he\'s god\'s gift to Cal Poly. Always talking about how he went to Cornell and how he\'s been reading sience books since he was in 5th grade. that explains his need for attention; he had no friends. Anyways about his class: Presents the material and then goes off on tangents about his life and about his extensive vocabulary and how alumni and alumna are diffrent. Who gives a shit! The crop science department seriously needs to get rid of some of its staff and Brown should be on top of the list. And Brown I know you read this and just keep in mind that the students grades are only a reflection of the teacher and obviously your not a very good one at all!

Dr. Browns lectures can sometimes be confusing and he does go on a lot of tangents as previous comments stated. BUT I thought overall he was a fine teacher. He is arrogant sometimes, but he also tells really funny stories and references partying all the time. Most people in my class liked him, even the people with bad grades. He has lots of office hours and will agree to meet with you if those times don't work. He will respect you if you respect him and work hard in his class. He's a stickler about coming to class and will call you out if you don't come often. We had three quizzes and two exams. He posts his notes on blackboard and study questions for the quizzes/exams. Do the study questions!!! If you put in the effort you will do well on the tests. His tests are fair (he doesn't put anything he hasn't taught) but they are hard because there are a lot of a,b,c,d,a&b,a&c, a&b&c type answer choices that make you second guess yourself. He gives out a few extra credit problems that add 2% to your entire grade, these aren't even that difficult so definitely a great way to boost your grade. I knew nothing about farming/vegetables before the class and I managed an A so its definitely do-able!

I think it is inappropriate to call Dr Brown such mean things on this. He is a great guy. I have had him for alot of classes now. He is very reasonable and if you are lazy then you wont do a good job in his classes. I have never had a teacher who is so into actually being a good teacher. He wants us to learn and is always in his office so he is easy to get ahold of. Dr Brown is seriously a great guy and if you want to learn and work a little hard then he is great. Plus if you are an agriculture major you have to take him anyways.

Dr. Brown is a highly respected scientist in many academic circles. I saw him speak at an ASHS meeting and there were people there specifically to see him speak and ask questions about his research and methods. There were so many questions that he had those with further questions follow him out to the lobby to answer them. Dr. Brown is misunderstood by the other students posting defamatory comments on this site. It is typical and predictable that such things are said and written about a professor with high academic standards. Dr. Brown does research that can potentially save lives. He works hard to provide students a quality education. Professors like Dr. Brown should be respected and I recommend taking him.

This GUY..... is hilarious. People are just way to sensitive above, just show up to class and try to avoid office hours because he criticizes you for not knowing knowing something you just learned, when in reality that is literally why you are there... to learn, not get criticized. Coming to class is funny and interesting, he's got some pretty good stories. Great Guy.
