Overall, he was a good teacher. However, when you have him at 7 in the morning and he doesn't give you a break and you are half asleep the whole time, it is not a fun time. His tests are the law portion of the CPA exam, but he gives you plenty of pages of notes to use plus the appendix of the book. Just remind him to keep up with quizzes otherwise you have to take them everyday to catch up with other classes and just to have more points.

Dan Bertozzi is an awesome professor! He was very informative and made this class so interesting that I didn't mind going at 8 a.m. He usually structured our classes as discussions so that we could go over all the cases and laws together. His tests are kind of difficult, but as long as you read the book you should do fine. I highly recommend him!

He gives great lecture! There is only one Mid Term, 8 quizzes and one Final. All the exams are MC and the quizzes are T/F, so this is a pretty easy class. But be prepared to read lots of material if you want a good grade. Since most of the testing material are from books and his own book, so Get Ready for Reading!

Bertozzi is an excellent teacher. Although the material in the class is sort of dry, he does a good job of answering questions and keeping the discussions flowing smoothly. His grading policy is fair and he offers some extra credit to help out if needed. He places a fair amount of weight on participation, so speak up and enjoy the class.

The man knows his stuff but doesn't come across like: "I am the superior being, kiss the ring of my doctorate." His tests were fair, he presented material very well, etc. But the class I took, political and governmental influences on business, was not one you could snooze through. It was expected in the class that you read the material beforehand, so you could understand the lecture. He's a great prof, but his are not the classes to take Friday at 8:00 when you're hungover.

dr. bertozzi is an excellant lecturer. People kept saying that the material that he teaches was dry. I thought to myself oh great, but the lectures were quite interesting actually.

Hey bertozzi is a swell guy, he's lectures are somewhat flat with an occasional set of a few good ones. There is a lot of reading and stuff so make sure you read all his BLUE BOOK (he wrote it w/ Bergunder) Anyways just pay attention in class and take good class notes, and stay into it don't bogg out. And when it comes test day, pull in and get barrelled with a A. Test are sort of difficult. Just stay focused my friend stay focused. Sweet!

He is seriously a cool guy. I think it would be hard not to enjoy his course or him. Take his class if you can. Make sure you participate in class because it will seriously bump your grade up.

This guy is a great teacher but the class does get a bit boring. He took role on a daily basis and penalized you severly for skipping a class. You really don't need to pay attention in class let alone go to class since the tests are directly from his book. Overall a great class!!! He curves it so an 85% is an A, and he does give a weekly quiz which I found to be practicaly free points. Oh, and be sure to talk, talk, talk, and talk in that class as it can literally boost your grade a full letter!!!

This class is boring. The only days worth going to class are when you discuss cases because people get angry and things are at least interesting. If you do all the reading you could get an A, but good luck doing that without falling asleep.

I would have to agree with the consensus..B...O..R...I...N...G I made myself participate so I didn't fall asleep in class which actually ending helping me out in the long run since he gives extra credit for participation. If you have any background in politics/history..this class will be redundant but at leat you wont have to study for the first midterm. The Final is definitely hard and anti-trust crap isn't what you could call the most interesting subject.. I took this class during the 5 week session and feel sorry for all the 10 weekers..but it was fairly easy and the cases are entertaining at least.. **Quality moment-when he reads explicit rap lyrics for one of the cases..fuckin' hillarious.. *Oh yeah-dont read course materials-but read the book-he asks random q's from it..

Bertozzi is a great guy. His lectures go pretty smoothly. If you want extra credit at the end of the quarter, you need to participate in class lectures. Even though I got an A in this class, if I could do it all over again, I would take another teacher (there are easier teachers for this class). This was definitely not an easy A. There is a lot of boring reading to do. Overall, it's not a bad class and you should enjoy it, with or without Bertozzi.

Easy easy class. I got a B+, and hardly read a word of text and showed up to the 7:00 AM class maybe once a week. This class really shouldn't exist; it's a pretty redundant mix of political science, history, and economics. He'll tell you what the quizzes are on ahead of time, and you'll even talk about the material before the quiz. Usually I just waited for him to talk about the quiz subject, then I'd just open the book and find that part and read the main points and get an easy A. He doesn't test details or dates, just the main ideas, points, and themes. The truth is, I'm not even a Business major, I switched over into GrC, so this class had no purpose for me but to boost my GPA. Bertozzi really is a super nice guy. Some people struggled in the class, but I know that if you went to him, he was helpful. I recommend him for the class. It may not be your favorite or most exciting ever, but why take a harder professor when the easy one will do just fine for a class that you won't even really learn anything from anyway?

The class isn't a lot of work, just a lot of reading. The quizzes are easy but the final and midterm are hard. Very useful class. You learn a lot.

Regarding the actual class, it's pretty easy if you just show up. There are two required textbooks; the smaller one, which is co-authored by Bertozzi himself, you should get (it's cheap) and at least skim the main sections. I didn't bother buying the larger Baron text, mainly because I was short on funds, but it didn't matter since I was able to get an "A" in the class without ever reading a word of it. My advice is, if you plan to show up for lecture, take notes, and participate in the discussion, then save your $85-100 and just skip the Baron text altogether. You won't need it. Prof. Bertozzi himself is VERY easy to get along with and seems genuinely interested in the subject matter, which helps a lot since the material is mostly pretty dry. He can be a bit long-winded at times; I can clearly recall one instance where he spent twenty minutes explaining a concept that can be thoroughly covered in two sentences at most. But he does pick interesting case studies, and never makes you feel bad about asking questions. I would definitely recommend him.

well we didn't really have the full course load because he broke his leg and missed a few days. my first complaint is that he doesn't warn you about class being cancelled, so you get to walk all the way there and then go back home. we had 3 quizzes, a midterm, and a final. two of the quizzes were unannounced. he takes off 10 points for missing class without a good excuse, but he does offer extra credit for participating in class. i don't know how reliable this extra credit is because he doesn't write anything down. there is one book and then a ton of stuff on blackboard to read. i would tell people to take him, but beware his lectures are extrememly boring and he talks forever about something that could be explained in 2 minutes.

Great teacher. The material was a bit hard to swallow at 8AM, but that's the nature of the course, not the teacher. Easy tests. If you're worried there are an abundance of "all of the above" answers, DON'T. There ARE a lot of them. I probably had a different kind of class as would normally take place because the poor guy broke his foot during the beginning few weeks and was absent a lot. If you do the readings you'll be overly prepared for classes. The most important thing to remember is that you'll want him to know your name. TRY to talk at least once a class, or talk to him during the mid-class break about random things. The more he knows your name, the more likely he is to dump extra credit points into your grade. In that respect it might not be a bad idea to sit in the front of class so he can see your name card better! He's not a bad professor and I got an A without doing much more than do the readings so I really have to recommend the guy!

This is the most boring class I have ever taked in my whole life. It is basically civics for college students. I hated civics in high school and find it even worse now. If you liked civics then you'll enjoy the class. He mostly talks about the way the government works, which we have all heard a million times(how a bill becomes a law, ect). I had hoped to learn more practical information that is directly related to business.

This class is truely the most boring class ive ever had. You have quizes almost every class, which aren't too bad if you did a good job of the readings. Also the class runs late EVERYDAY. He continues lecturing about nothing right up until the hour then as you try to grab your stuff so that you can get on with the rest of your day he starts mumbling about what you need to read for the next day. Dont take this class if you ever need to get out early or have some where to be right after the class, you'll always be late. Overall i feel i would learn more by watching cnn for an two hours a week.

this guys is sooooo boring! try not to take him. His quizes are easy, but there are way too many of them! his test is hard, and the book he wrote sucks. I jst ready the texbook chapters he gives you online instead of reading his book, and you should do fine.

Okay I went to every class and read EVERY single page in his book, and the chapters he gave us online, and all the articles... and I still got a C. Uh yeah, I learned a lot but it doesn't show in my grade. Oh well, at least I learned something... oh yeah and he rambles on and on about the same topic for about 2 hours but I think the class got it the first time.
