Giving an early evaluation just because he's going to teach CE 251 for summer 2017. HIGHLY RECOMMEND- TAKE THIS PROFESSOR!!! For ENVE's who have yet to take CSC 231, CE 251 is a MUCH BETTER alternative, so much so that the new flowchart is going to implement CE 251 instead of CSC 231. Took CSC231 for a week before dropping it as a sophomore. There are weekly labs and reading you turn in, but they're not busywork and really do help you on the quizzes. He teaches you exactly what you will need to know for the quizzes, no vague bullshit. Usually lectures for the first hour, but honestly it goes by so fast, and the other hour, you work on the lab and he's helpful in answering any questions. Final is like 6-8 projects you work on with a group to turn in.

Amro is the real fucking deal as he's arguably the best professor in the ce/enve department. He can teach phenomenally, super nice, and very charismatic. He does not waste your time at all and gets straight to the point. He only teaches you material you need to know and does not ramble on.

Dr. Amro is a kind and knowledgeable instructor. Personally, I like his practical way to transmit the information. Very minor cons because he is still new and need some time to get perfectly adjusted. For example, in the beginning he used to be little less organized, then he improved that point by presenting the material more neatly on the board. Also, I felt that his speed was not constant. At the beginning, I was understanding almost 100%. As the quarter moved, I felt my self lost and barely understood 30% of the lecture. He was too fast, when I am focused on writing, he covered lots of things that I immediately I missed. Overall, amazing instructor with a flexible, comprehensive, and friendly personality. His grading breakdown is 25% for 2 quizzes+30% for the final+ 5% class activity+ 20% for 2 field trips reports+10% for homework+10% for presentation No required textbook. Mostly, lecture, useful handouts, useful 2 field trips, and some helpful pdfs. The class is so sweet in which I learned a lot by the practical way of Dr. Amro.

dr amro tries his best to make the class as interesting as possible. it's difficult to get college students interested in these topics especially as a GE but he really wants to do everything he can. go to class because a lot of the points will be based off in class assignments. he also gives a lot of extra credit so that was a plus

Best thing about this professor is he really cares about his students and wants to make sure we are doing well and understanding the material. He's really helpful when you ask him questions. Some of the HW is complicated/takes a long time but he's very straight forward on tests/quizzes and doesn't try to trick you.

The most effective professor I have had to date. His commitment to the instruction of the course material is unmatched by any other professor I have encountered. This was his first time teaching Air Quality Engineering yet he seemed like a seasoned veteran. Always willing to help in office hours. Going to take him at every opportunity.

Amro is the best professor in all of Cal Poly. His lectures are informational and all you will need to succeed in his class. He genuinely cares about his student's learning and understanding of any subject he teaches. I have had 3 of his classes, ENVE 331, 325, and 438. In all of them he was super consistent because all of the information he taught in his lectures were exactly what were in the tests and homeworks. Also, if you are confused and go to his office hours, he will explain everything thoroughly and you will leave with confidence. All of his grading is fair, and even beyond fair. His homework is not tedious or long, but reasonable. Any class you see this man teaching, run to it.

Amro is one of the best professors I've had in a long time. He teaches with enthusiasm and passion which also affects his students. Even "boring" topics are presented in a interesting and comprehensible way. If there are questions, he is always happy to answer them and does that in a logic, step by step, way. I was never stressed in his classes, yet I learned a lot. His quizzes and exams are usually the same things that are covered in the lecture which encourages his students to have good grades and therefore be motivated. As an international student, who's native language is not english, he was always very easy to understand. I never struggled following his classes. HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS CLASS IF YOU'RE INTL EXCHG! His classes are a great way to lift your gpa ;)

El Badawy was a great professor for ENVE 331. He understands that it is an intro course, and teaches only the basics (which is good if you are not super interested in the environmental side of engineering). And even if you are, he still covers enough to give you a good handle on the material for future. His homework and quizzes were very straight forward; it looked like most of the class was getting high A's. He is a very nice guy who wants everyone to do well. His accent is a little hard to understand at first, and he lectures and writes quite quickly. This was definitely the easiest 300 level class I have taken, while still learning a lot. Would recommend!

Amro is one of the nicest professors I've had. He really wants all of his students to do well and will always take the time to explain things that are at all unclear. I wasn't too excited about the class because I've never been too interested in the subject, but I ended up loving it. At first, Amro went a bit quickly and it was difficult to get used to his accent, but after a couple classes you definitely get the hang of his lecturing style. His quizzes are very fair and pretty easy. No midterms, just quizzes and a final, which ended up being great because the quizzes were a good way to review lecture material while getting easy points. Definitely would recommend!!

Dr. El Badawy is the sweetest and most straight forward teacher I have had at Cal Poly. He always gives a general overview of the topics he is going to cover at the start of every lecture and a brief recap on what was talked about during the previous lecture. If you miss class get notes from a friend because he doesn't have powerpoint notes or anything, but quiz questions are always straightforward and based off of topics covered in class. I took a nanotechnology course by him after having taking this class just because I knew it was him teaching it. He if very modest and respectful and is a great human being.

This guy is amazing and represents what a professor should be in every way. He was extremely well versed in the material, he recognizes if students are struggling, he gives fair exams and grades almost too fair. Take this guy for any class you can, you will learn a lot and most likely get a good grade.

I probably have learned more from Dr. El Badawy than any other professor at Poly. If you have the opportunity to take a class with him, take it!

Dr. El Badawy has been one of the best professors I have had at Cal Poly. He truly cares about each student he has and does everything he can to make sure you succeed. He lays out the entire class in a sort of map of what you are going to learn. He constantly reviews to make sure we haven't forgotten older material and he cuts out all of the bull crap that a lot of other teachers don't do. He tells you what to know and tests you on what he told you to learn. No sneaky questions or questions on material you haven't seen. Take him any chance you get

Took him for Nanotechnology and it was really informative and interesting. it gets a lil dry just cause he's p soft spoken. There was no book/ hw. straight up lecture, but this class made me actually consider doing something with nano-tech in the future. He is one of the best professors I've had and one of the best CE/ ENVE professors. I take classes depending on if he's teaching it. His classes are not super difficult but you will feel like you learn so much more from him than other professors who just give a shitload of hw and bullshit. He sincerely wants you to learn and when you ask questions, he is simple and direct.
