Tammy Campbell: new teacher at Poly and it's easy to tell. I can sum her up in one sentence: she is very decent as a chemistry professor. She lacks patience with the class, especially because a ton of us (including myself) are taking the course only because we have to to graduate. It was a lecture/lab with 50+ students. She flies through her Powerpoints, but if you know how to do everything on the Powerpoints, you'll kill the midterm and final. She does a few quizzes that are weighted pretty heavily on your grade so heads up. She uses Sapling learning (super annoying online homework for grade type thing) for a decent portion of your grade too (~10%?). You'll have at least one lab a week which aren't hard at all, but are 15% of your grade. Stay on top of the material and you will get an A. Pay attention to her lectures despite the rate at which she talks/how boring the material is. I would recommend her

Professor Campbell is an OK professor. Coming into this chem class I didn't expect much. Most of the stuff that we went over in class was review (at least for me) of a high school chem class. Campbell is too nice at times. Her lectures are boring. You don't need to show up to class unless there is a lab. You can also teach yourself through the slides and online homework to prepare for quizzes and the midterm. The lab assistants in my opinion knew more than her. Overall if you want an A in the class do good on the lab, which there are about 1-2 a week. Also study for the midterm and final and the 4 quizzes (she drops one). I took this class pass fail which was the best decision I ever made. As a non chem major the class wasn't worth the effort in trying to get an A. I'd say most of the class had a solid B, if you want the A you can just raise your hand and get a boatload of extra credit points for doing problems on the bored. Overall, I would say take her if you are a non chem major and are looking for a pass fail class to take. :D

I actually really liked Campbell. She was really sweet and super easy to work with (if you have a problem, she's more than willing to help out.) The quizzes are really easy if you know the material; she sends out practice quizzes and the real quizzes are exact replicas with different numbers, so it's your fault if you don't do well. Same with the exams, but she adds in a few difficult problems which I think screwed some people over (myself included.) I enjoyed sapling-- I thought they helped me learn the material easily and they had easy-to-understand practice problems. Go with Campbell and pay attention in class and you'll do just fine.

Teaching CHEM 110 to a bunch of non-science majors is obviously a difficult thing to do. Dr. Campbell is a graduate from UCLA and CAL TECH. Her area of research/study is biochemistry. She is extremely intelligent in advanced chemistry topics. That said, it is her first quarter and she did a hell of a better job than I expected. Yes she made a few mistakes here and there, but Jesus Christ, IF YOU GO UP TO HER, ASK HER QUESTIONS, whether in class or office hours especially, she fucking knows her shit. She is extremely nice, very approachable, and gives good life advice. I put in about 60% effort and ended up with a B.

It's really difficult to not get up and leave in the middle of lecture, because it feels like you aren't learning anything. She clearly hasn't taught many lower division chemistry classes before, because she dives right into the difficult stuff. If you have little previous chemistry experience, don't expect her to teach the basics to you. I basically taught myself everything by reading the book. She is pretty helpful if you go to office hours and ask specific questions. Her handouts are also helpful in terms of studying for the tests. However, you learn very little during her actual lectures, because she comes pretty unprepared and doesn't explain the concepts clearly.

I think students are quick to give up before giving Professor Campbell a chance. She's extremely approachable and helpful. Sure, she runs into hiccups during class occasionally (as every new professor does, especially when teaching Chemistry to non-100+ STEM majors at once). But the material she presents is not incredibly challenging, and she's happy to go over something if someone is lost--it can be hard for students to convey this in a class of this size, but thats not exactly her fault. I'd say I put in about half-effort and got a solid B with little to know extra studying. If I had one complaint its that she likes to jump into harder examples first rather than slowly work through simple ones. With time, she'll become better at instructing the course. If I could do it all again, I wouldn't change my decision to take Campbell. She was a solid professor, with easy to moderately challenging exams, and moderate-hard quizzes. Not a hard B to attain.

Oh boy. Do yourself a favor and don't take this class. At least not with Campbell. She is by far the worst professor I've had at Poly thus far. She's new to the campus and it shows. She does not know what she's doing. Sitting in two hours of lecture twice a week was a waste because I pretty much learned nothing from her. She would try to do problems on the board and would make a mistake without fail every single time. I had to basically teach myself the material, with the help of my lab instructor. Hated every second of this class and am glad it's over.

Lots of students don't like Tammy, but honestly she is a good teacher. They felt she wasn't able to teach well so they always left in the middle of her class. She sometimes has difficulty with organization and getting her idea to the students, but she covers all the material we need to learn. She was very nice and helpful to me whenever I went up to her and asked her a question privately. Everything she covers is on her exams. I went to her study review sessions and they helped me a lot and I passed with an A, so I recommend going to those.

Tammy is a really shitty teacher, but a really nice person. I had personal issues all quarter long and she was very accommodating with me missing tests/quizzes and making them up in her free time. She even offered to talk to my lab instructor after I missed a lab and was worried about my grade going down. But as a teacher, yeah not good. I skipped class for 6 weeks straight (only coming to take a quiz then leave immediately after). I taught myself using the book and did perfectly fine without her lectures. She made mistakes daily and had to be corrected by students. She didn't explain topics clearly. There were multiple times that someone would ask a question to clarify and her explanation made absolutely no sense and I considered going to that student and explaining it myself. She was very scatter brained and her lectures never actually taught, they were more of a review. She does give extra credit though with zero to no effort and her tests and quizzes are very manageable. I would say only take her class if you are already fairly good at chemistry and can teach yourself using the book.

She could not present the material clearly and often has to rework the problems she wrote on the board. Inconsistent on lecture style with occasional note packets or quickly going through a slide show. She is a nice professor just not that good at teaching the material.

Oh Tammy... She breaks my heart a little bit because she REALLY cares about her students and clearly knows what she's talking about. However, she had a really difficult job presenting material clearly. Also, the class was pretty boring. A lot of kids ended up bailing half-way through the class. But honestly, she cares so much and is really willing to work with students outside of class. She even gives back a bunch of points on my midterm when I went in to see her. I dunno. I wasn't thrilled with her, but she's really nice. Maybe give her a chance, I hope her class will get better.

Professor Campbell was a nice lady, but horrible as a lecturer. The class was fairly simple so it wasn't a big deal that she was so bad. My friend and I would count how many times she messed up when demonstrating problems on the board and it ended up averaging about 3 times each 2 hour lecture (she usually only did 5-8 problems a class if that tells you anything). If you already know Chem, or won't go to any of the lectures anyways, take Campbell. She's friendly and fairly forgiving in the grade book. But if you need actual instruction on chemistry, find someone else.

Professor Campbell was sometimes flustered while presenting some of the material to the class which is confusing. Many people that took the class were often rude and just got up and left. However, she truly cares how well you do in her class. After the first midterm, she required everyone to meet with her about their midterm score. Although this might seem like a pain to many people, it just showed me how truly dedicated she is to teaching the material. She also gave back points for things you could explain why you answered a certain way or if you learned how to do it. Taking the SWS workshop with this class was very helpful and I would highly recommend.

I haven't even finished her class yet but I'm going to write a review since I've already seen how she grades and how she teaches. Chemistry is not particularly hard for me and I took it in high school so I expect to pass with a low A/high B. For all those reviews who love Professor Campbell, I can see where they're coming from. She is genuinely a nice person and even though I haven't spoken to her directly I think she would be very accommodating. Anyways, her presentation of the material is the worst. She knows the material, but her scatter-brained personality hurts her presentation. She understands chemistry but not people. Her explanations generally don't make sense and she makes mistakes every lecture without fail. The only reason I'm still in this class is that the 110 class is full, and I understand the material. 90% of what we have covered is all review for me but even I get lost in what she's saying sometimes. Her class is like the skeleton of a regular class: the objective of teaching and learning are somewhere in there but never completely make sense. She manages to say a lot of chemistry things and show you these things without her actually teaching it to you. I hope that eventually she will learn to teach well because I want to like her but the fundamental failure on her part to perform essential job functions (aka teach) doesn't allow me to do so and just leaves me frustrated. TL;DR: If you don't mind a boring lecture and are good at chemistry, take this class. If you are mildly unsure about your chemistry skills, either take the workshop and grind out a grade or wait for a teacher who can actually teach.

Tammy literally gave us a test without teaching us all the material on it. Take this class and you find yourself supplementing every topic with the book. How he still has a job baffles me.

Professor Campbell isn't the greatest lecturer. She often gets so wrapped up into the Chemistry that she'll go off on a tangent about things that are too high-level to understand (and that we don't need to know). However, she is a very sweet person. If you go to office hours and get to know her, she explains things much more comprehensively and makes sure that you understand it a lot more. This class requires more effort than probably expected, but if you put in enough work and go to office hours regularly, it'll pay off and you'll do well.

Dr. Campbell is extremely competent and qualified in her field and I definitely recommend taking her for Chem 124. I know a lot of people who had to repeat this difficult course and she made learning the information a breeze. She is a very reasonable grader and gives out a lot of extra credit points. She's also very willing to look over questions you got wrong and give you points back if you can back up your answer. Her PPTs are extremely informative and she is really good about making sure to cover all the important topics. I know a lot of people had been giving her a hard time about their grades and sometimes you have to remind her to enter in points or quiz grades. If you need help with understanding concepts, she can explain things really well one-on-one either in office hours or when everyone is doing their own thing during lab and she's walking around (Khan academy also really comes in handy if you need extra explanation). If you take notes on her slides and do the recommended problems that she assigns, this class will most likely be easy for you.

First of all CHEM 124, no matter what professor you get, the class is going to be hard just because there is so so much information taught and they all have their own little details and rules that go with them that you have to learn. Not only does it all build on each other, but the common final literally put one of everything you learn on there so you actually have to know it all. Second, I had this class at 7am so I'm rating a teacher who had to teach that early and who couldn't half ass it. Campbell is a super sweet person and she care a lot about her students and is a very very nice person, BUT she didn't really teach us anything. She says at the beginning of the quarter that you'll have to teach yourself some of it, but I personally had to teach myself everything. I struggled a lot at the beginning because I would do everything she said to do, the labs, the optional textbook reading, the optional textbook problems, and yet wouldn't do too well on the quizzes because she would throw in curveball questions. I taught myself through watching hours of Khan Academy videos and the only thing I got out of going to class were the labs which were helpful but also not needing the professor to do anything. BUT like I said, she's a really sweet person and honestly does care because she offered SO SO much easy extra credit and because we were at 7am she had a super generous curve for the class at the end. She made 88-100 an A-/A+ range, 75-87 the B-/B+ range, 62-74 the C-/C+ range. I didn't do well on any quizzes and not too hot on the midterms and final and still ended up with a B+. So she is a teacher who will take effort into account. And she is super nice and helpful in office hours and will go over a midterm or quiz with you and clarify anything you need help on. So her teaching itself is not good and if you're looking for that specifically, maybe try another teacher, but her as a person is really nice and I mean in my case it worked out pretty well.

I did good in this class mainly because I had a decent chem teacher in high school. If you don't have a decent foundation in chem you will struggle immensely as she does not explain topics thoroughly. She introduces topics and then doesn't spend enough time on it for you to grasp it. The tests always had 1 or 2 unfair questions that no one knew how to solve. She also blames the students for doing bad on tests and quizzes and doesn't realize a low class average reflects her mediocre teaching skill.

I hope you like reading your textbook because that is the only way you will learn in this class. On the upside she might bring in her dogs once in a while and they're pretty cute. But on a serious note, she is incompetent on the most fundamental level. She simply repeats whatever she has in her lesson plan or notes, and whenever she's asked a simple question, she cannot answer it as she has basically memorized a script.

While this professor is very nice, she did not aid in my learning of the material. The lectures moved over information without clarification, did not provide any clarity to material, and did not answer questions during the lecture, creating large amounts of confusion from my class. Additionally, she wasn't able to help much when going to her office hours. I asked simple questions regarding a practice test she handed out for our upcoming midterm, and after a minute-long pause, she was unable to answer them. The answers I did receive were accompanied by phrases such as "I think" and "maybe it does this" or "I wouldn't know without checking the data." If you hope to get a good grade without prior chemistry knowledge, I hope you like textbook reading and Khan Academy.

Around week 4 I realized there was no point in going to class anymore. To make a long story short she simply does not know the material that she is teaching. It seems like she has no feel on what the students are actually feeling / where they are at comprehension wise. I understand that there is a certain level of work outside of class that is necessary for many college courses, however I constantly felt like I was reteaching myself everything she discussed in class which I believe is unrealistic. The thing that frustrated me the most was her inability to answer questions. She essentially reads a script everyday and if any student wants to know any information about chemistry beyond that, she simply doesn't know how to help. Essentially, if you made a 3rd grader memorize a speech about chemistry that they completely copy and pasted of wikipedia you would have Tammy Campbell :)

Honestly, she's a really nice person, but a terrible teacher, which makes this hard for me to write such a review about her. She does have better ratings than the other 124 teachers, but honestly I've learned so much more through Youtube than what I do during class. The way she teaches is so unorganized and I'm practically confused 100% of the time. Her quizzes/ tests do not correlate to what is being taught and quite frankly, you will only survive her class if you have previous knowledge. She automatically assumes that everyone has the knowledge on certain topics. Therefore, if you lack a strong chemistry foundation get ready for a ride because this quarter with her is going to be a catch up game and it's not fun.

I took this class because I was initially interested in Chemistry when I was in high school. I did not know that I would learn more from a high school Chemistry teacher who had a bachelor's in biology, rather than a Chemistry professor at Cal Poly who apparently has a PHD. Apparently they give to PHDs to anyone nowadays considering she googled some of my concerning questions during her office hours. Additionally, the quizzes will have material in which we will learn the next day in class. Frankly, I do not know how she even is still a professor here at Cal Poly.

Professor Campbell was incompetent. She was often unable to solve her own problems and could not communicate the material very well. Hopefully you have good LAs that can help teach you, but you're going to have to learn a lot of the material on your own. However, the midterm and quiz questions were almost always taken directly from the workbook. And there's basically no homework except to finish up lab reports.

She's suuuuuuuper nice. But can't teach. At all. Office hours are helpful, but she doesn't even know how to answer her own questions, so she has to look up how to answer her own question which is kinda telling imo.

There are many ups and downs with Dr. Campbell. On one hand, Dr. Campbell did make a very positive effort since the first week to make herself available. She held a lot of office hours and workshops, and even more so near midterms and finals. For the students that had the time to put in the extra effort and go to them, they were very helpful. She is much better at teaching on a one-and-one basis. She also seemed knowledgeable about the concepts that relate to organic chemistry, because that's her field of study. She did not seem to be able to explain concepts of general chemistry very well, which constitutes about everything up to the first midterm. This doesn't mean she isn't knowledgeable, but there was definitely a communication problem. And that is where my main problem lies with this class. I do not know how long Dr. Campbell has been teaching chemistry or this specific chemistry course, so I can make no comments based on lack of experience. These are just based on what I have personally observed. Dr. Campbell is really bad at effectively communicating chemistry. I think the root of the problem stems from being underprepared to teach. Her powerpoints and lectures are ok, but nothing more. They, just like her teaching style, seems very disjointed and disorganized. When explaining concepts in chemistry, one has to be able to build off of concepts previously learned. She even said that herself. When all the concepts are explained in a very disorganized way, you can start to see the problem. When she attempts to explain things we have questions on, she cannot explain them in a way that is easy to understand, reflecting her bad communication skills. I can honestly say that the concepts I performed the best on during tests were things I had completely taught myself via sources outside the classroom. It was frustrating. I am not saying that I should be able to learn everything without any outside work. What I mean is that I needed the outside work to understand the basics. I very often felt that I would be learning more if I just didn't show up to lecture and just dedicated my own time outside of class to learning the same concepts. I will not go into specifics, but once I asked a simple question during lecture. She completely overcomplicated my question, which had a very simple answer. Everyone else in class was even more confused, asked her more questions, and then she became annoyed at us because we asked questions. She decided to overcomplicate again, on purpose, because we asked questions. That is not how someone should teach. Another thing that hurts the communication in the classroom is the fact that Dr. Campbell is not enthusiastic about the course in the slightest. A little energy can go a long way, and the class could actually become really engaging. I believe that if a professor brings no energy, the class will amplify that feeling. It is not entirely the class' fault. If a professor is energetic and engaging, the class is going to reflect and amplify that feeling too. I do not think Dr. Campbell is inherently a bad teacher. I genuinely believe she has a lot of potential. She just needs to actually have a more detailed, organized lesson plan with a clear goal when teaching, have clearer communication, and be a little more engaging. She has the potential, but she just needs to apply herself.

The one positive thing I will say about Tammy Y. Campbell is that I believe that she genuinely knows what she's talking about, but truly and utterly lacks the ability to convey it. She gets frustrated beyond reason when people ask simple questions during lecture, though the questions are needed to understand what on earth she's talking about. About one week in I learned that it was far more helpful to just ask the LA's my question rather than her, who first of all get mad that we asked questions, and then purposely over-complicated her answer. If it wasn't for the fact that we often out of the blue had to turn things in during class without her previously telling us it was due, I just wouldn't come to class because I could far more easily teach myself the content rather than listen to her do nothing but confuse me. I will say that she does an incredible job of making herself available, offering a lot of office hours and many workshops over the weekend, but to be honest, they just confused me more. There have been times where I went to office hours to ask her questions about the labs, done exactly what she said, and had the LA's mark what I did wrong, because she told me the wrong thing to do. There have been at least 5 occasions where at around 2 pm the day of our class that began at 4 pm, she would email us randomly announcing something that we had to have turned in during class that day. However, my absolute number one qualm with Tammy Campbell is the fact that she told us that our grades would be curved a certain way on our syllabus, but then, on Friday night at 11 pm the week before finals, sent us an email making our curve harder, instantaneously dropping my grade from a B+ to a B-. I don't care who you take. Just don't take Tammy Campbell.

Dr. Campbell is extremely nice, accommodating, and makes herself available to students all the time (lots of after-class or weekend workshops, etc). That being said, she is an AWFUL professor. Honestly it's hard to understand how she is so bad. She seems very knowledgeable about the subject, and seems like a very sharp, smart lady. She just simply should not be teaching. Her powerpoints are lengthy and off topic- but worse, she NEVER actually goes through them. She is always making the class fall behind every other professor's sections, and DOES NOT TEACH anything. Even the workshops i mentioned before were NEVER helpful- she has NO ability to structure a class or lecture whatsoever. Most days we just went off topic on random stuff for a half hour before jumping into the lab, which she never explained or helped you on. The labs themselves were usually just online worksheets. Be prepared for lots of busy work. Her quizzes are fair enough, except that she usually would only give you an idea of what they're even on the night before/morning of them. The midterms are a nightmare. In a class of 60+, only 3 students got above an 80 on the second one (if my memory doesn't fail me). I do not count myself as being "bad" at chem, but I can honestly say the only thing that got me through this class was having detailed notes saved from my basic high school chemistry class. If you have a strong chemistry foundation, go ahead and take her class if it fits better with your schedule. If not, DO NOT TAKE IT.

Dr. Campbell was a super sweet lady but unbelievably scattered and unorganized in what she wanted. She would post 3 chapters on polylearn to read the day of class (and these chapters are all like 50 pages long) but then would change her mind about what she wanted once we got to class. Her exams were things that we had never seen before and we could not have applied our knowledge to them because they made absolutely no sense. Literally half of the class failed. She was so nice in office hours and I always left finding it hard to be frustrated with her, but then every day in lecture I would want to rip out my hair. Two days before the final she sent out an email telling us that the curve was actually not what she had anticipated, and the A range that had been 80-100 shrunk to 92-100, which meant that half of the class got screwed over. It was possible to BS your way through her exams and teach yourself everything from the book (which is what I had to do, as well as rely on previous knowledge from AP/IB chem) but I would definitely not recommend taking her class as a first quarter freshman if you can avoid it.

this is was her first time teaching the class, and you could tell. the format of her lecture was NOT intended to be inverted classroom, yet she was using material from professors who exclusively taught this course in an inverted classroom format. the first exam was a disaster, jumping entirely into concept application questions. she never answers questions about content, saying instead "I don't know, IS that true?" or "you have a book, look it up" and worst yet, "i can TELL you guys aren't studying" which, at least for me, is entirely untrue. this is my major. i want to enjoy the class, and i want to learn the information. she is wholeheartedly unprofessional and aggressive, especially when it comes to questions she interprets as rude, or attacking. I asked her once to clarify a typo, unsure if it was an enzyme we had covered, when instead, she yelled at me, and told me "you KNOW that it's a typo. why would you even ask that?" listen. i clearly did not know it was a typo. that's why i asked. TL,DR; DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS WITH TAMMY Y. CAMPBELL. SHE IS INCREDIBLY SMART, BUT CAN'T CONVEY ANY OF THAT INFORMATION FOR SHIT.

She is a very nice lady and has the best intentions. I think she lacks enough confidence to be a successful professor. She is very insecure about her knowledge and is easily flustered or confused when asked questions in class and she hates to "reorient her brain". Reading the book saves you. Her lectures are a hot mess and I honestly never look at my lecture notes. A lot of the time she writes the complete opposite of what is true on the board and sometimes someone catches it and she goes "oh whoops" and it just makes you wonder how many times that happens where no one notices and its forever in your notes completely wrong. She likes to give self assessment quizzes and worksheets BEFORE you even learn the material and expects you to just know it already. She doesn't know how to govern a classroom and is easily pushed around and swayed by the students. She needs more confidence and more organization for sure.

Campbell was constantly late to class. Office hours were often canceled without any notice. Assignment were fabricated on the spot during class and we were given no due date. When we would try to turn them in during a later class period she would tell us that she wasn’t accepting them. I managed to turn in 5 assignment over the whole quarter, and she lost 3 of them. I had to talk to her during a lab section (because she wasn’t in her office during her office hours) and explain when and what I had turned in so they wouldn’t affect my grade. When myself or other students would go to ask questions about her lecture or during lab, she would tell us that we can go figure it out on our own, and would not offer any assistance. She is constantly telling us “you can learn this on your own,” even when there is a large portion of the class that doesn’t understand the concept. Lectures are unorganized and don’t do an acceptable job of teaching the subject. She constantly goes off on tangents, and just barely touch the surface of what seem to be important topics in biochemistry. Concept written on the board often contain errors that we as students don’t notice until later when we verify with the textbook. Exams include questions that have nothing to do with anything that is taught. She tells us that we should be able to derive the answer from things that were taught, but that is difficult when we aren’t taught anything in great detail. There are exam questions that she will never give us answers too, and makes it clear that we are not to ask her about them. On the second exam there was a question that she admitted she had no answer to. She told us that she gave a few people partial credit because their answer was well thought out, and she told the rest of the class to come to her with evidence that what we answered is correct, and she would give us points back. Exams take at least two weeks to grade, and there are lab reports that were turned in during week 2 that still haven’t been graded. She is kind when you go talk to her in office hours, but will call you out in front of the class if you don't know or understand something. I was disappointed that this was my first biochemistry course.

If you can, avoid taking this class with Dr. Campbell. She is not prepared to teach this class. First off, she doesn't even know the material, so imagine how the students feel when the lectures are filled with pauses, errors, and uncertainty. It is VITAL that you read the book for this class. Reading the book saved me for this class. Tammy was, again, very unorganized in lecture, and her inexperience teaching this class really showed. Lab was an equally hot mess. It took her forever to grade assignments, and she would leave lab for 10-15 minutes at a time doing who knows what. During the lab final, which was impossibly hard, she was gone for 20 minutes when I had a question. The lecture midterms were difficult and there were inconsistencies in her grading. The first midterm has ZERO multiple choice, and all short answer/response. The formatting was incredibly strange, and she would show some people the exam BEFORE WE TOOK IT in office hours. She is extremely biased and favorites students. She even made a question on one of the exams out of a question someone asked in office hours, so only people in office hours would know how to answer it on the exam. The final was the most strangely formatted, and she pretty much forced us to take it earlier than scheduled since she would be out of town. She made the final harder for people who decided to take it later, but I don't know how she could have made it harder. I had to ask her many clarifying questions. If you get anything out of this: DO NOT take this professor. She is not prepared to take this class. It is so messy and I don't know how I got out of it with a B+, but it wasn't easy. Just avoid at all costs. She is a nice lady, just not meant to be an educator.

She is a terrible excuse for a teacher. It was clear she did not understand the material herself and she was unable to convey the material to her students. She was constantly 10-20 minutes late to class and embarrassingly unorganized. I went to her office hours and she was useless, she put me down and refused to take responsibility for her own lack of knowledge/ability to teach. It was clear she gave grades based on how much students kissed her a** and not on any definable grading criteria. Avoid this teacher at all costs.

Dr. Campbell is a very intelligent woman and usually has a pretty causal attitude about lab. Her lab final on the other hand, is a complete pile of trash that no one was prepared to take. She makes things harder than they have to be, can't actually convey information to save her life, and really should just be in research rather than teaching. I'm just grateful i didn't have to take her lecture

Dr. Campbell is very sweet, but her lectures can be a little all over the place. She tests on extremely obscure material from the textbook that she doesn't necessarily cover well (if at all) during lecture. If you want an A in this class, just read the textbook and take good notes. Lectures are more or less useless. She did curve our class so most people got good grades, but it was probably because most people were getting Cs or Ds on midterms. She offered to bump up 2 peoples' grades by a full letter based on a meaningless powerpoint presentation that was only one slide! Overall, I wouldn't recommend taking her, but if you do have to, BUY THE TEXTBOOK! You'll be buying yourself a B at least.
