If you are taking Tina as your instructor then good luck. Trust me you're gonna need it. Tina was horrid. Almost every day half our class would gather up outside after class just to talk about how horrible the 2 hours of lab with her were. Her study guides for the test are complete shit. None of the concepts on the study guide are even relevant to the test. I'm sorry but we are liberal studies so make this class easy and have the study guide resemble the test. The workbook you get is such bullshit, it has so many spelling errors and Tina expects you to blow through so many damn experiments within like no time. Good luck talking in that class because she is SO EXTREMELY nosy. She will without a fail always know what you are talking about and then continue to join in on your conversation and then get mad at you for being distracted...I'm sorry but didn't you just join in on the conversation?? Absolutely ridiculous. Keep in mind that Tina is a high school teacher and she is not even a REAL professor. Why are we paying for a high school instructor?? She sure acts like it too because she will take you outside individually to have a "talk"...I'M AN ADULT. I'm not 5 years old so don't treat me like it. Also I'm gonna have to pray for you to get through all the narratives that were a total waste of time.Have fun taking this class, you are in for a ride...

PLEASE Don't take her for PSC 101 or any other class she teaches. Her method of grading is ridiculous. Don't let her fool you by her "nice" attitude during the first days of classes because she's not. She literally treats everyone like a child but joins students' conversations. She then ends up falling behind and start rushing through the material we need to cover during class. Avoid her at all costs!

Tina is a high school teacher and is on a contract to work at Cal Poly for the year. I took her class 3 days a week (M,W,F) from 3-5. It was nice that lecture and lab were combined and the class went by pretty fast if you do everything, but the class feels like it's designed for middle schoolers and it can be extremely hard to engage. The tests are fairly easy but it's all free response and she's ridiculously picky on the models you draw and how you answer the questions. You will leave the tests thinking you got 100% and get so many dumb points knocked off that you will end up with a B or lower. The lab practical is 10% of your grade and it is fairly easy but then you have to explain everything in perfect detail and the average grade ended up being 78%. Make sure your notebook matches her requirements exactly and take it in to office hours to get it looked over since those are easy points that can easily kill your grade. DO ALL THE HOMEWORK! It's really easy and fast and that along with showing up to all classes will make or break your grade (miss more than 2 classes and your grade goes down 3.3% per absence). Overall the material is extremely easy but don't take Tina unless you want to be micromanaged and can regurgitate everything to her standards.

I was initially nervous to take this class because of the horrible Polyratings, but I honestly did not think it was that bad. Overall, the course material was pretty simple and if you put in the time to paying attention to the online quizzes and give your full attention during class, then it is very easy.The labs can feel very slow-paced and it is easy to put in minimal effort and slack off, but if you actually try then it can definitely be an easy A!

What the guy/gal below said. Amen. I too took this class and have long since graduated from Poly, but I was cruising Poly Ratings for a kick and thought that I should pipe in and let you know how much of a joke this prof is.
