Dr. England Kennedy is one of the nicest people I have met, she has a genuine concern for students and their health. However, she is not a good teacher at all. Between showing up late / not at all, it leaves the class resenting having to come. The last 3 weeks of class she canceled class 4 times. Because of this, we have not learned enough material to take a final, resulting in a cumulative final. Avoid if possible.

She is a horrible professor do not take her. This was my lowest grade this quarter which is ridiculous because it shouldn't be a hard class. The problem is that most of the material is very obvious smoking is bad for you exercise is good, but that's all she lectures on is the super obvious stuff! Then she tests you on very specific details. Furthermore, she cancels a bunch of classes then sticks those nonexistent lectures on the final. You also sit in class for a good 30 minutes, first waiting for her to get there since she's always late and then waiting for her to figure out how to use PowerPoint. And maybe the worst part is that you have to go to class because she gives participation I-clicker when she finally figures out how to use a computer. And the only interesting thing I was thinking I would hear in this class were the guest speakers but all ten of them mysteriously "canceled." Overall I don't know why Cal Poly hired her because she is suffering from two serious cases of lazy and stupid, neither of which look curable in her severe case. If you have the misfortune of getting stuck in her class just go do the homework and quizzes in her class, don't listen to anything she says, use the study guide (that won't get you an A though, I don't know what will) and pray.

Professor Kennedy is an extremely nice and understanding lady. With that being said, her class is a waste of time. The two lectures a week (if they aren't cancelled) is simply listening to her read off a powerpoint. She seems to be really unorganized so it takes a while for class to start each day. Pretty much everything is done online using mastering. If you take this class with her, be prepared to learn all the info on your own.

This class is a huge lecture. It uses mastering health and an iclicker, so be prepared for those charges. I wouldn't be too picky about ur professor for this class, but if you really care she could be better. She's the type to keep talking even though everyone is talking. She'll shoot a question out and wait for an answer in the awkward silence. Kind of technology clueless, so if u miss a few classes, it might not matter if she could figure out the iclicker that week. I did like that her study guides are pretty true to the tests, knowing the answers got me solid b's on the midterm and final, 30% each. 40% comes from different parts of mastering, so don't forget to do it. She will give you an extension if you can fake computer problems. Nice lady, kind of a pushover for a lecture hall class.

Honestly, it's probably one of the worst, most annoying, classes I have ever taken in my life. Kennedys job is a joke. The online assignments are pointless and stupid, the lectures are the most boring thing I have ever had to listen to. DONT TAKE HEALTHY LIVING. I am a fairly good student, I have Bs and As in all my other classes, but this class is pointless. I got a B- on the midterm, and I studied for like 3 days straight. the final is cumulative and close to 200 questions. There are essay portions on the online homework, and the only way to get full credit is to write a fuck ton of bullshit. The essay question is literally "did the results surprise you" Like no. They didn't surprise me, I answered to questions and I know my body. So if you're blocked into this, good ducking luck cuz it's dumb as fuck.

If you have the ability to take any other class, take it. Do your best not to be in this class. She was very disorganized, and assigned all hw through the textbook publisher, which meant she did little to no grading. She was irritable whenever I emailed her with questions. And she started class at least 15 minutes late every time. Overall, I would have to say that she seemed lazy. She has obviously been teaching this material forever, which means she knows it well. But also means she has zero enthusiasm and gives a monotone, uninteresting lecture. A very uninspiring teacher. And I am actually interested in some of the material. She assigns a TON of hw and assignments and take home quizes but doesn't have to grade any because they are online, seems a bit weird. Even her finals, basically the only thing she need to write up for us, was full of typos and issues she had to correct while we took it. Meaning she didn't even take the time to proofread it! how are we supposed to be expected to care about this class when it is so obvious that the professor doesn't? Annoying course that I didn't enjoy. Please please please take my advice and take ANY other class!!!!

Kennedy is a nice person. However, she sucks. The class is incredible boring. She constantly asks "does this surprise you?" and other question which seems like she's just trying to waste time. She also just keeps listing examples on the board to the point that it seems ridiculous. She shows up late, cancels class, and struggles to operate the power point at times. The homework is total BS. You'll have to write essays on questions that don't require such long answers. Basically a waste of time. Take another class if you can.

Don't take this class. If you're still considering it, please stop. Just don't take the class. The teacher is okay, doesn't matter. The class material in general is awful. This class is essentially the equivalent of an AP health class in highschool, where you learn a lot of interesting, but it's all way too much info. Anyways, just don't take it.

She's straight up terrible. She takes the class way to seriously despite the fact that pretty much nobody cares and everyone in it only takes it because they assume it'll be an easy GE. The class itself is boring and her homework is way more time consuming than it needs to be. She tries to complicate everything and make health a more scientific. Do not take this class. Biggest waste of time with one of the worst professors I've had here

One midterm. One final. I rarely went to the class. BS'ed the hw. Never studied and went into the final with a 100%. She offers alot of extra credit which helps alot. When I did go to class, I wouldn't pay attention. I would just do the hw. All of the work is online. Theres online quizzes and online hw. Very easy to do quickly. If you're looking for a easy teacher take her. I BS'ed my way threw the whole class. But it was annoying because she started taking attendance for participation and I didn't know that until the last few weeks. Oh well.

Dr. Kennedy is very sweet and genuinely wants her students to learn the material and succeed in the class. With that said, her lectures are VERY dry and repetitive. Your grade is made up of: midterm (75pts), final (125pts), written report (50pts), group project (50pts), 5 online quizzes (50pts), 5 online discussions (25pts), and 3 small assignments (15pts). Dr. Kennedy provides comprehensive study guides/outlines for the exams, projects and the report. It is very easy to do well on the exams! I studied 1-2 days before the midterm and final (there is extra credit on the final) and received an A+ on both. For the exams make sure to watch all the videos she posts, study the study guide AND study the power point slides. For the written report, group project, quizzes, discussions and assignments as long as you follow her instructions carefully you will receive a high score! Overall, this class is mildly interesting and an easy A! TIPS FOR GOOD GRADE: You NEED to have the textbook for the online quizzes and to study for the exams, print the power point notes, a llot yourself at least 2 days to write the health report, and make sure to do the online quizzes and discussions before they close!

Fine teacher, but a little dry in the presentation. I wouldnt suggest having her at 8:00 in the morning, might be difficult staying awake.
