Augustine was the best teacher I've had yet at Cal Poly. Over the entire quarter I never had to open the textbook once because he clearly explained everything we needed to know in lecture. The work is tough, but you get a lot out of it, especially if you're a freshman with no prior programming experience. 101 is hard, and despite how much I enjoyed the class I still couldn't come out of it with an A, so I can only imagine that taking the class with a less awesome teacher would be a serious drag. To those who have the opportunity, do yourself a favor and get into Augustine's class. His teaching abilities will really knock your socks (and shoes) off.

Augustine was absolutely my best professor so far at Cal Poly and I would love to take another class taught by him if I could. Starting from the very first day, his outgoing personality clicked with most of the class and made it a very enjoyable experience. His lectures presented all the material perfectly and his guidance through labs gave just the right amount of help to make students find the answers on their own. If you can take a class with Augustine, do it!

Eriq is an awesome professor! He is very knowledgeable about the topics covered in 102, and his energetic teaching style always kept me engaged. I highly reccommend him for any computer science class.

I cannot stress this enough, if you have the chance to take a class with this man, do it. He is awesome! Not only does he know his sh*t, but he teaches it really well and is hilarious as he does it! He is super approachable and always there to help you out. He gives this vibe in the room where he is like your really smart friend who's trying to help you out. The final project was fun and the tests and lab exams were pretty challenging but totally doable if you know what you're doing. Know doubly linked lists and pay attention in class and you'll be good! Fun class and highly recommended.

Eriq is super cool. He definitely doesn't feel like a traditional teacher, more just a chill dude that teaches. He set me up pretty well for 103 and his class is really practical and makes sense

Super duper chill guy. He's helping me get into google, so he's a nice dude. Also, his explanations are on point. Sometimes he can be disorganized, but overall he's a great professor.

Professor Augustine is by far one of the best teachers that I've had. He's very approachable and is very knowledgable about the material. He also makes class very exciting and is very helpful in office hours. I went into Discrete Structures thinking it would be one of the worst classes I would have to take at Cal Poly. But, because of his enthusiasm and passion about Computer Science it has been one of my favorite classes I've taken here. If you have the chance to take Augustine, I would strongly recommend him.

Made a class that I thought was going to be boring material into my favorite class of the quarter. Very funny, and helpful

Discrete Structures is a pretty boring subject but Professor Augustine made it entertaining and exciting! He's super chill as a lecturer and as a person. Plus he moonlights as a British open-mic performer! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GKiM5Ha905I

What the guy/gal below said. Amen. I too took this class and have long since graduated from Poly, but I was cruising Poly Ratings for a kick and thought that I should pipe in and let you know how much of a joke this prof is.
