I can't say enough about Professor Frazier! Tony is by far one of the coolest, most enthusiastic and effective professor I have ever encountered! I was incredibly intimidated at first with this class as I hadn't had any biology or lab experience, but Tony has a way of making everyone feel comfortable and supported. I am so glad I stuck with this class because it ended up being the highlight of my week. We did so many fun and useful experiments that actually got us thinking and applying relevant concepts. We even got to take field trips to Poly Canyon and to see the cadavers as part of class. This class was the definition of learning by doing with a huge added bonus of fun. I subbed in another bio 111 lab class with a different professor and it was a completely different vibe. Bottom line: Go out of your way to get Professor Frazier! It will absolutely make your quarter and change your perspective on biology!

Tony is a super cool guy, very helpful and excited about the subject. The lab is 3 hours long which seems like a long time, but it goes by pretty quickly. It is kind of stressful to get all of the things done and in your notebook that you need done but if you ask Tony for help, he is very clear and eager to assist you in any way that he can. The quizzes are fairly straightforward and he will tell you exactly what you need to know for them if you ask. Highly recommend him! He's an awesome guy

Tony is seriously the best! He made my first quarter at Cal Poly awesome! He is extremely helpful and you can tell that he loves what he does. He also has some pretty cool "pets" that he brings in from time to time. If you have a chance to take a lab with him, don't miss out! In all honesty, I was sad on the day of our lab final because Tony made that class so fun, and I didn't want to leave.

Tony is really cool and nice, but honestly, I did not like him as a teacher. He was really unorganized and was very unclear about his expectations on things such as what you should know for quizzes or what should be included in the notebooks. It seems like a chill class because he's so laid back but it was frustrating when I would receive something with a poor grade because his instructions were so vague. He seems a bit passive aggressive too. I don't know, he's a nice guy but I just think he's almost too knowledgeable to teach such a beginner's class because he expects that everyone pretty much knows everything (which is definitely not true!)

Tony co-taught this quarter with Himelblau. They both did a great job. I believe it was Tony's first time teaching a lecture, or at least a big one like this. You could hardly tell, however. He was clear on almost all topics. Every once in a while there was a communication error between him and Himelblau, but it was not a huge deal. He made lecture very entertaining and seems to be a really nice and funny guy. I would love to have him as a professor again.A

If you have the chance, definitely take this teacher. Even though the subject can get boring at times, Professor Frazier manages to keep everyone's attention. The grade primarily comes from a MC final, MC midterm, and an easy blog assignment.

I wouldn't usually write a PolyRating, but Tony very much deserves praise. I took this class as a GE and not only was it enjoyable material, but a relatively easy A. Not being much of a science person myself, I was worried the class would be too complicated and technical. But coming from someone in CLA, this class was beyond doable. Tony is very passionate about the topics in which he discusses and he makes sure to give lots of examples for clarification. Easily the happiest and most easy-going professor I've encountered at Cal Poly and hope to be able to take a course with him in the future.

By far the best professor I have had at Cal Poly. We were in a hundred percent lecture but he keeps you really engaged by how passionate he is on the subject matter. I did not study at all for either the two quizes, the two midterms or the final and I got a B+. Super easy course and an easy A if you put a tiny bit of effort in. He brings i cool item to pass around in class, set ups Zoo-to-You presentations outside of class to see cool animals and overall makes the class fun.

Professor Fraizer was a wonderful teacher! I had a really hard time grasping the concepts in the beginning and failed 2 of my quizzes and did poorly on my first exam. However, I went into office hours and did a lot of studying and was able to bump my grade up to a B! Fraizer's questions on quizzes and exams are relatively hard but after you get the hang of the structure you'll do fine. At the end of the quarter he gave a project worth 20% of your grade (making a blog about an endangered species) and just as long as you show effort and include what he specifies then you'll get all of the points. He's a really caring teacher and wants all of his students to succeed. He is also able to explain the material much better during his office hours.

Amazing Teacher! Genuinely one of the nicest guys I've ever met. One day, I hope I can be as happy, outgoing and sweet as he is. He really cares about all his students and wants everyone to succeed. He is so enthusiastic about the class he makes a class that could be potentially boring into something fun. He wants the class to learn and have a good time doing it. Yeah the midterms have been hard but that is partially my fault or not starting my studying in time. TAKE THIS CLASS!!!!

he's super chill and made the class moderately interesting despite the (in my opinion) boring topics. i would say it's a fairly easy A if you just come to class and pay attention. the grade is made up of a quiz, an easy hw assignment, two midterms, the final, and blog assignment which he gives you 100% on if you just follow the instructions and turn it in.

Read his ratings before his class thinking it would be an easy A, and did pretty well on the first quiz. Kind of got overconfident and got a D on my first midterm. Luckily it was only 15% and I still had a chance to redeem myself with the second midterm where I got a B-. My chances were super slim at an A-, but I went to his office hours to look at the tests for the final (30%) and got nearly 100% and also got a 100% on the ESA project (20%), which he generously grades and ended up with an A-. I would recommend studying the notes in class in great detail and actually understanding the concepts because many of the questions are application based. Definitely go look at your previously midterms before the final! Definitely not an "easy A".

I never do Polyrating, but I had to for Tony! If you want an easy GE that is actually really interesting and applicable, take this class! He is such an awesome guy, who wants to see you succeed! He is also super goofy and entertaining during lecture.
