She was a good teacher, and was very helpful. Class was very time consuming though and her test were real hard.

The class is challenging but not impossible. Benson's lectures are on point with what you can expect in the lab immediately following the lecture and later on the tests and quizzes. It was her first time teaching the course so there was a steep learning curve as far as how many problems students could complete in the allotted time(she allowed a make up for some partial points). Overall it's a fun class and she does well to convey the material clearly.

She's a good teacher, but tough. I had her for CPE 133 (got a B+) in Fall 2011 when she first started teaching. She went all out on us when she started teaching in Fall 2011. Tests were long and difficult, but there wasn't anything she didn't show you before and it's only a step harder than the work she assigns. At the time, she used Mealy's textbook. She'll tell you what problems to do, but they aren't actually assigned; it's up to you to do them yourself. Do the problems and make sure you understand what's going on in labs. Don't think you can get away with letting your lab partner(s) figure everything out; it will bite you in the associated when lab related questions come up on the tests. Grading was based on labs, four quizzes, three tests, a final lab project, a lab final and the final exam itself.

Professor Benson was a very nice teacher who always helped out either during office hours or during class. The only downside was that there were no TA's, but that wasn't her fault. I took her in Fall 2012, and she had quizzes each time we met, so I say definitely go to class. She also posts videos on Polylearn, which is extremely beneficial, as it contains relevant examples of problems.

Great professor! Knows exactly how to convey the information and is very understanding of student difficulties. The midterm and final are challenging so keep up with the class because it will kill you if you fall behind as there is a lot of work in this class. The lecture at home and problems in class format was great. She even brings food in on the last day courtesy of her and her mother. Thanks mom!

Benson really takes the time to make the material understandable and interesting. Looking back at the topics of this class, I can see that it had the potential to be a VERY boring class, haha, but since Benson taught it, it was probably my favorite class of the quarter

Professor Benson was easily one of the best professors I've had here at Cal Poly. She is super approachable which helps for those of us that are afraid of asking "stupid questions." Her lecture videos are really clear, helpful and are reinforced during lecture. She does grade you for attendance so it's important that you show up to class. There are weekly quizzes which I think were fair. They were based off the textbook problems that you work on at the beginning of every class so there are no surprises. She didn't have any midterms this quarter so the final was a bit stressful (40% of our grade). I got a B on the final but managed an A in the class. I heard she was pretty strict on the grading for the final, but she is pretty lenient with everything else. I accidentally missed my scheduled time for the final (got the days mixed up) but she noticed I wasn't at the final and let me take it during her 233 final. She's definitively a Professor you want to get to know! I definitely recommend taking her! If I could take her for 233, I definitely would!

Great professor. Bridget is super helpful and fun. She's very fair and loves to answer any questions you have. I went into her office hours to ask some things about an out-of-class project and she was happy to give me a bunch of info. Conveys material clearly too. And the final project is fun. Take her.

Took this course online over the summer. It was a challenge but she was there even through text message and live calls. Benson really cares about her students and teaches well in her videos. I wish I could have been in the actual classroom to see how she is in person. I would recommend her to anyone and would take her again for a different course.

Dont even think about it, just take her! This is my second time taking 133, the first time I took it, I took it with a professor that I won't name, but fuck he was bad. He made me pretty much hate my life every day and want to switch out of this major. I thought I would give it one more try with Bridget and wow what a difference it made! She's really passionate about what she teaches and really conveys it in a way so that the entire class understand it, no matter how many stupid questions you ask. I loved her way of getting the entire class to know each other, even if it was a bit cheesy. The final and midterm were not too bad either. Overall I can't praise her enough. She's one of the best EE/CPE professors here at cal poly!

BEST PROFESSOR EVER. If you have the chance to take Benson's class for ANY class, do it. She is an incredible professor who is not only brilliant, but is very easy to talk when asking questions and cares so much about every student and their success in her class. She knows what she's talking about and lectures in a way that makes the class very easy. If you don't goof off, you can finish the labs in class (which you can work with other people on, ask her for help, and she gives basically the whole thing) and so there's no homework. There are weekly quizzes which are easy to get As on if you go to class and look at the practice problems she uploads. There is no midterm but the quizzes are really fantastic preparation for the final along with the practice test she uploads. There are no trick problems meant to get you, if you pay attention and actually learn, you'll do good. The final project is very open and you can do pretty much whatever you wants and work with people on it, so it's actually a great way to tie everything you've learned together. I love love loved this class and fell more in love with CPE than I ever thought I would. TAKE BENSON SHE IS THE BEST.

Hands down best professor I've had at Cal Poly! Bridget is always enthusiastic and helpful. Even though this was her first time teaching EE 211 she was reasonable and understanding. While she does tend to go a bit fast with in-class examples, she made time in class for us to start the weekly homework, which she would then go over and give us answers for before we had to turn it in. Her weekly quizzes are totally reasonable and her midterm was long, but fair. She's also always so cheerful, it makes an 8am EE lecture bearable. Overall, I would highly recommend that you take Bridget whenever you can because she is simply the best!

Everyone already knows benson is great. Weekly quizzes that keep you on track and grades hw, and she gives you th solution for the hw before it's due. I love benson! However let me warn you about EE 211, do not fall behind, go to every lecture and pay attention in class. Do not copy the solution for the hw. Oh and btw TI-84 does complex algebra. I didn't know this, and i did all the complex calculation by hand so I got fucked on the final. But yeah, good teacher, 10/10 I would recommend

Professor Benson is always very cheerful and excited about class. Even though the class is broken into a separate lecture and lab period, she treats both as studio style so you'll usually have 1.5 hours of lecture and 1.5 hours of lab, which keeps things interesting. In terms of lecture, she is very good about presenting the material and is more than happy to field questions. She does a lot of in class examples as well. Her labs are usually interesting, but a few times she didn't have the labs planned very well. I would expect that to improve though because she was trying a lot of new and experimental stuff that she hopes to get approved by the department. Overall, a very good teacher and would definitely recommend!

Benson is a very good teacher for the subject. She gives like 10 homework problems per week which is way less than other teachers so you end up spending time on the problems that matter which is nice. Her weekly quizzes were similar to the homework and she lays out very clearly what's going to be on her midterms and final beforehand so there was no surprises anywhere. The material isn't too bad and she's a very nice lady.

Bridget has taught 2 quarters here at Cal Poly and I must say, she's doing an excellent job so far. We began our CPE 233 course with her admitting that she didn't fully know the material. That was no problem though as she as able learn the material quickly, and be able to convey it to us clearly and effectively. In this class we were supposed to learn how a simple CPU works and actually design one ourselves. Bridget Benson hit a home run in giving us the knowledge and resources to do so. The class grade consists of 10 labs, 2 Midterms, and 1 Final. She will cushion exam grades and extend deadlines if she sees too many people suffering. Thanks to the EE (or is it CPE?) department for hiring someone like her. Good choice.

Your grade for this class pretty much consists of 2 midterms, labs, and the final. The 3 tests were reasonably challenging. During labs, she's always willing to help out. On some occasions, she stays after class to help out which shows she cares about her students. Overall, she's a great professor - just take her if you can.

Prof. Benson has a great teaching style and is very approachable. Her office hours are always busy as students are trying to debug their labs or final project. Yet she still has time to answer all or any of your questions either online through the Polylearn forum, emails or during class. She teaches very straight forward and there is no ambiguity when she has midterms, she will give you sheets and online material of what to study a week before the midterm. She even has review days where she covers material right before the midterm. Lenient on late work which was awesome especially for the more difficult labs. Highly recommended over the other CPE professors teaching 133 and 233.

Benson is awesome. I had her for 133 and 233. The labs can be challenging but very rewarding after they are completed and she is always willing to help students if they are having problems. I would absolutely take her again. Her midterms are somewhat challenging but very fair. Absolutely recommend her.

The course had a sort of laissez-faire feel to it so most of the time was spent working individually and the lectures were brief, but Bridget was really positive and helpful any time we needed her. She also read all of our project reports and code, and gave excellent feedback which made it easy to improve as programmers, and made it easy to figure out what she was looking for. Also, she gave us the best first day of class that I've ever experienced in college(Take one of her classes and you'll see what I mean). Overall, Bridget kicks some serious ass.

During this entire quarter all I could think about was how this professor reminded me of that small little dog that runs through the back of scene 23 in The Incredibles by Pixar. Seriously, if you look it up you will only be able to see it...
