Barbara Bass is very friendly and approachable, you can call her Bev instead of professor. She's really easy going and easy to talk to. Her lectures are pretty much what's going to be on the final/midterm. There are other minor assignments that were doable. She is very lenient and I'm sure she understands that we also have other classes. Very nice lady, she's pretty straight forward. This was at least for the intro class, don't know what she's like for other LA courses.

Bev is really helpful in answering questions about the topics in this class. Her answers make sense and seem to come from a logical stand point rather than that of opinion. She is open minded and I appreciate that in a professor. Unfortunately, not many people come to this class with burning questions or comments about the readings. If I could do it all over again, I wouldn't be too shy to speak up during class, but she is always willing to chat after class which is nice!

Beverly is the sweetest teacher ever. She really loves her subject and you can tell through her lectures. There are a lot of guest speakers that come to the class as well and really helped me find which path I wanted to take as a Landscape Architect student. You can easily get an A in this class if you do the readings, which are generally pretty short, and pay attention to her lectures.

Bass is a nice professor, but the class itself is convoluted and boring. All lectures are based from the textbook and all exam questions come from the lectures. All the information is there, but it's an overwhelming amount of information. Definitely a memorization-based class will little-to-no projects that applied the concepts. I think the professor and the course has potential, it just needs to be reorganized.

Beverly is very clear and organized. She provides a ton of reference material and she is helpful. She is fair and also personable and easy to get along with. She is one of my favorite LA teachers and I would recommend her for studios and ILCs.

Bev's a super chill professor. She grades fairly and is understanding. I recommend taking CAD if you don't know the program or you're looking for an easy ILC.

Yes I failed. But thats simply due to my lack of effort in seemed to be a "learn by doing nothing" type of class. Beverly seems poorly-equipped to be teaching a class like this, as most of what she offered us- in terms of learning material- was video-based, visually-interesting movies, and field trips that had little to do with landscape ecology or how to incorporate that element of the discipline into our designs (i.e. surfing and sailing videos/ the re-emergence of tree lobsters/ an elementary-level "scavenger hunt" free-for-all...... Her focus is aimed towards attendance, and complying with her ideals. take her if you want a class to cruise through-not if youre interested in learning anything applicable.

She really does not teach you much other then random series of unrelated information that she expects you to combine into some sort of project. She does not have deep sense of design or body of knowledge to pass on to you. Pretty painful class overall. But she is really easy of the plus side, so if you get on here good side you will probably get an A like me for doing absolutely nothing.
