He is a very picky grader, but is clear about his expectations. His class was well planned and he stuck to the syllabus. It is quite a bit of work, but managable. Coming to class is important. The test was hard, but there were papers to make up for it. He is very fair and a little less open minded than he thinks he is, but still open minded. He did a mid quarter evaluation and actually adjusted the course based on students feedback. He is a great professor.

Greenwood is an extremely competent teacher. You can really tell that he enjoys his job because he tells the class multiple times that he was a big slacker throughout his college years, but finally picked it up and now he has really cracked down. He has clear expectations of the class. He makes you write about five research papers throughout the quarter but they were only about 500 words which is really easy, and all the papers correlate directly to what we were learning in class. The class is really interesting, but its REC, what do you expect? It is about the history of recreation and its applications. The midterm and final were straightforward and were exactly what you would expect, you just study the notes he gave in class and the notes you took on the chapters from the reading. He gives reading quizzes every once in a while but they're cake if you skimmed the chapter beforehand. He's a great guy and really wants his students to succeed especially because it is your major if you are taking it.

Greenwood a nice teacher who tries to be helpful, however he's rather full of himself and his class becomes tedious and repetitious. HIs assignments offer little variety and his expectations are somewhat unreasonable. If you can forget about practical solutions for the assignments he offers and create the most elaborate and unreasonable answers possible you will do okay in his class. The amount of reading and homework is average and manageable, however his quizzes focus on the most minuscule details from the 40-70 pages of nightly reading and the midterms and final require even more detail. He is passionate about his field however his teaching style is in need of reconstruction.

I found Greenwood to be a jerk. He is really cool in the beginning of the quarter, and then all the sudden we had a ton of assignments that were due within weeks of each other. He has unreal expectations. While his quizzes are easy if you actually do the work, he has a major attitude that sometimes comes out during class. I really liked him in the beginning, but I doubt I'll be signing up for anymore classes with him.

Although Dr. Greenwood wasn't bad, I really hated going to his class. In a class that's supposed to be focused on all areas of RPTA, he really only focused on municipal and sport recreation which I am not at all interested in. It was definitely an easy A, and Dr. Greenwood is a good guy. Buy the book, read the material and be ready for the quizzes because he does give them. If you know the headers and the main ideas you should ace the quizzes. Most times, I just read the summary at the end of the chapter and did fine. He's a great guy but majority of the lectures seemed long and unimportant. However, send him an email that says you're sick and you'll be excused.

Greenwood is the coolest teacher ever. He is so funny. The class is basically a lot of talking. He gives quizes but you don't even need to study for most of them. There is no midterm and the final is an easy group project. If you breathe you can get a C+.

RPTA 101 You have to read the textbook! He gives quizzes on every reading assignment and they count for a lot of your grade. There is no midterm. You have a group project and presentation where you "create" your own organization. The "final" is a take-home essay that responses to a prompt that brings together everything you have learned in the class. It is a pretty easy A, as long as you show effort.

Greenwood is a cool dude and this class is actually pretty interesting. He grades pretty easy and will help you a lot. The projects are not that bad and the final was reasonable. If you do the work, you'll get at least a B.

This class, like it's professor, is an absolute joke. Unless you are a Cal Poly athlete, forget taking his classes, because you're not going to get an A. I've never met a teacher who loves to listen to himself talk about how successful he's been in his career and how awesome the Junior Giants are for hours on end. A flagship program that he actually has no say in. He started off our first week of classes complaining about his low pay from Cal Poly and how other professors are making more than him. Really? He loves to tell you that you have the freedom to make your own guidelines in your assignments when in reality he's too lazy to give you any direction himself. The only significant assignment that you could actually learn anything from is the final project, but again he gives you no direction. He told us to be creative and use the adobe files such as photoshop and illustrator, to create something when in reality he has absolutely zero knowledge of any of these, and judging from the amount of mistakes in his lectures, doesn't even know how to use spellcheck himself. Don't tell your students to do things that you have absolutely no knowledge of yourself. If your looking to take this class as an elective, save yourself the time and money, take bowling instead, you might actually learn something relevant.

Sad excuse for a teacher and class. Greenwood is incredibly lazy and half asses the entire quarter. Probably one of the easier A's on campus though so good GPA booster class.

Dr. Greenwood is one of the funniest teachers I have had. He is super nice and if you ask for help he will help you, but I highly recommend talking to him after class not before because that's when he plays music to get you ready for your daily quiz. It is a hybrid class which is really nice so it's only once a week on Wednesday's and at the beginning of class, he will play music to allow a buffer for students in case they are coming from another class. His quizzes are kinda hard because you have to base it off of on average 50 pages of reading, 3-4 videos, and a lecture video that he makes himself. DO THE FORUM it's free points every time and helps you study for the quizzes. He does a good job in class considering he can only cover so much in the in-class part of the hybrid course. He makes everything relevant to what we as students might have seen or go through and always gives examples that he has dealt with or seen in his life. Nice southern guy and always talks about North Carolina where he lived and went to school. If you want a class that doesn't take an overload of time, definitely recommend RPTA 201 with Dr. Brian Greenwood!

Super super nice guy, but he kinda just babbles on in class just to get through the 2 hours about the most random stuff after he hits the 45 min or 1-hour mark. His quizzes are kind of hard you just gotta watch all the videos because it's a hybrid class and memorize the bolded words in the textbook and look for different people's names in the reading too because that is all on the quizzes every week which he gives 5 mins to do. There is no midterm because he knows how stressful life and classes are and he doesn't want you to be stressed about RPTA. The final is an in-class essay but you get a one-sided paper for a cheat sheet and you want to write something on every chapter and unit that you do in class because you won't know what your essay is on until he hands you your paper with a different prompt for everyone on final day. I would definitely recommend this class because it shouldn't stress you out too much, you do have to study for quizzes though because that is pretty much your whole grade.

Missed the first day, went to the second day. Went to the midterm. Went to the Final. Three days of class total. I got a B, easy. This kind of shit gives our school a bad name.

Greenwood is an absolute joke. He will waste an hour of class each day by talking about himself non stop getting way too personal, then will rush through basic powerpoint slides teaching us very simple things. He LOVES to sound so smart when in reality half the things that come out of his mouth sound like complete BS. Greenwood would offer literally two sentences of instruction for assignments then act confused when students didn't do the project in the format he wanted. He looks for random reasons to dock students points to sound smart, and overall is a fraud of a teacher. One time in class he left his computer open to showing pre-written feedback that he would copy and paste for grades- he literally doesn't do anything. At times he can be funny and make the class lighthearted, but in general he wastes so much time talking about nothing important then will act like a know-it-all when it comes to grading. Avoid Greenwood to avoid the absolute BS'er of a man he is.
