Professor Friedman is not an easy teacher. He wants his students not to just memorize the material, but to actually understand it. As a result, his homework and tests require a firm grasp on the topics. Although, he's not the most personable guy, he is very helpful in office hours if you come prepared with specific questions. Those office hours should definately be used as often as possible.

Dr. Friedman is a straightforward guy that wants everything perfectly in its place. In drafting, thats especially apparent. He will test on the smallest detail and will grade tough.

Mr Freidman didn't teach anything. The material is pretty easy and I did all the drawings fine and should've gotten an A. But because Freidman gives a stupid multiple choice exam about stuff never covered and not even in the book, I got a damn C. I recommend you do the drawings and read the entire book for the final...you still have little chance of doing well on it.

I don't think I learned much at all from the class. He didn't really teach anything in lecture. All he said was either striaght from the book or the supplementary handouts/notes from second edition. Actually, the books explaination was more understandable than his. (if you actually read the book you know how bad it is, so imagine...) And DO NOT be late for class because he gives pop-quizzes in the first 5 minutes. Though they are only 10% of the grade, it may push you up or down a WHOLE grade because he doesn't give +/- (so a 89% is B and 90 is A). And he takes off points on lab assignments for no reason. when i asked him, he just said it's not good enough. If anything, unless you can read his mind and understand the freaking book on you own, don't take him. (though there really isn't a choice anyways, so sorry)

His tests and quizzes will be on the most obscure things he talked about in lecture. OMG, his lecture was the most boring ones i had to endure at poly yet. And it didn't help that it was at 8AM in the morning. (so don't take him so early in a day if you can) He demands perfection on both lab and homework assignments. Make sure your hand writting is perfect everytime. This goes for every letter and every line. He took off one point out of 10 from one of my hw because one of the lines at a corner was about 1/64 over the other line. And the other time he took off a point because my work was "generally too dirty" meaning it was a bit too dark since I was spending so much time working on the page to make everything perfect and the graphite were spread on the page by my tools. So can't please him. Anyways, just don't take him.

A really great professor! I don't understand why other people don't get along with him; I had a great experience. I am a person who does not like technical drawing, but I enjoyed taking it from Friedman. He expects you to think, and can determine who is trying to learn the material, and who is not. He is very helpful, and shows a real interest in students.

Missed the first day, went to the second day. Went to the midterm. Went to the Final. Three days of class total. I got a B, easy. This kind of shit gives our school a bad name.
