DO NOT believe what other people tell you. This teacher is terrible, and I hope she never comes back to teach at Poly again. Never have I had a teacher that gives terrible boring lectures and screws you over on grading. Whatever someone tells you, this is the other half: she blows and if possible avoid her if you want to do well and learn something. THere are people who do well and give her good ratings, and there are people who do terrible but try their bloody hearts out. I'm the latter. Screw this teacher wait for someone else. She is inconsistent with grading. Tell me this: how can two people who did the homework togther get two wholly different grades? Tell me this: how can a teacher assign work for a mid-term outside of class and only hinting at the majour importance of said work until the midterm? Freeman can, and does. So either bit the bullet and take her, or wait off. I say wait off. My GPA says I should've waited off, my gut says wait off. You should too.

"DO NOT believe what other people tell you" followed by "my gut says wait off. You should too" Wow. XD I took this class last winter and the person who I just referenced might have been in my class! Reader (or prospective student of Freeman), let me say something: you don't have to believe what anyone says, especially when it's written out of anger (and it shows with the typos). Avoid that crap at all costs. I'll do my best to give a rational opinion. Freeman isn't the best teacher in the world. The way she presents the material can seem unclear at times but then again you're an engineering student in a engineering-business oriented class. You're more than likely to not understand it coming out of the first few lectures. However, she's helpful in office hours and will try to make sure that you understand it walking out of her office (last I remembered being a hole in the wall). Homework is assigned and collected, and she gives 2 tests, a project, and a final exam. Her tests are pretty demanding and again can be difficult, but you have a good chance of doing well if you understand the homework and try to take it all in during lectures. As for the project, if you don't procrastinate, it's easily doable (like most assignments). But no worries, she lets people do extra book problems for extra credit. There are also bonus extra credit problems on the tests to help you out. The best part about this class was the fact that you can gamble. No, I don't mean through slots or card games, but through your test scores. If you scored poorly on the first test, you have a chance to initial the 2nd test for that test score to replace the first. If you did poorly on BOTH tests, you have a chance to initial the final, and basically that will be the grade you get for the class. I'm not gonna lie. I did horribly on both tests. For the project I tried my best, and for the final I initialed it to replace both my test grades. To help study I did extra homework problems for the chapters I didn't understand. The result? I finished with the grade you see to the left of this review. You reap what you sow.

I liked her, the class was pretty straightforward and the tests were open book, open notes. Doesn't get much better than that.

Plenty of opportunitys to do well in this class. If you put in the effort you will do well, and learn the material.

Dr. Freeman is a great professor truly interested in her students and their learning. Knows her stuff. Very helpful in class and in office hours. If you do poorly in her class, its because you didn't try.

I found Freeman to be one of the worst professors I have ever had. Dr. Freeman moves very quickly through the material and makes lots of computational errors during her lectures. Dr. Freeman also has a bad habit of quizzing students on material before she has lectured on it. She is also seems very annoyed to be answering questions during office hours. The only good thing about here class is she gives lots of opportunities for extra credit if you have turned in your homework. However, any late homework is not accepted.

She is one of the best teachers I have ever had in my life. She is willing to help with anything and the tests are really fair. She has old ones in the library that are very similar to the ones she gives. Also there is alot of extra credit. I am sure she is the best teacher you could have for this class.

Professor Freeman rocks! It took me about 2 weeks to finally start understanding everything, but once I did.....wow. This class all of a sudden made sence and all of her lectures we coming in loud and clear. She presents all of the material very straight forward. She brings you a copy of the days notes to every class so you only have to refer to those pages when you want to study for the tests. The test and quizzes are also very straight forward. The only thing that I had a little trouble was the regency problem at the end of the quarter. Even with that, all I had to do was go to her office hours and she was more than happy to clear up ALL of my diffuculties. She is a great professor and I highly recomend her for this class.

Dr. Freeman clearly explains course material and passes out notes at the beginning of class. She works a lot of examples and if those aren't enough, she's always available for help in her office hours. She puts old exams on reserve, has plenty of opportunities for extra credit, and really wants to see everyone pass. Her grading scheme is a little crazy, and it varies from quarter to quarter, but is fair and definitely gives the benefit to the student, especially if you do your homework. Her pop quizzes are about once a week and focus on material that has been assigned for reading, but that she hasn't gone over yet (usually she goes over the material that class). This might seem unfair, but the questions are typically the easiest possible example out of the reading. Overall, a good professor for this class.

In Freeman's class you can fall behind easily..but there are ways to improve your grade, especially if you are the type that can ace exams if you actually tried... remember to do all the sample midterms to get extra credit, even for the first exam.. and when going to office hours you might be disappointed by how much is covered during the session, so you have to take the lead and guide her through what problems you want to go over.. and sometimes in class she gets carried away and talks a little too much about current events... there is also a long final Excel spreadsheet project that is due at the end of the quarter.. ask her if you don't understand it or try to work in groups even though everyone is suppose to do their own..

Best instructor ever! Clear and to the point. Very helpful during office hours. I think she'll teach part-time next year (recently retired), if she's teaching this class, TAKE IT!

I walked into this class not knowing what to expect. After the first couple days I got a little nervous because I wasn't understanding the material very well. I stuck through it and ended up understanding the material. Freeman's class is pretty relaxed. She rolls her suitcase/backpack into the room and opens it up and usually pulls out a quiz(a popquiz) for us to take. There are 8 pop quizzes, one problem only. She tells you to read the book material to help for the quizzes, but it doesn't really help. I found it easier to just wait until the quiz was handed out and then use my book, because it was open book. Her midterms and quizzes are open book. She gives extra credit if you do extra problems, and this is what helped me out. The extra credit accumulates over the quarter and then at the end she divies the points up to the HW/Quiz grade to make that 100%(but only if u have enough extra credit). That grade is made up of again the 8 quiz scores and about 9 homeworks. BTW she grades the homework pretty tough so work hard on it. At the end of the quarter she gives out a Regency Petroleum Case. WORK IN GROUPS! It is the best thing to do to try to do well. This case makes up part of the homework as well. She doesn't really help you at all with the project so make sure u are either a whiz with excel or you are in a group. Best of luck in the class, I would say that she is a great overall professor, very personable, and sweet. She's a catch if you can get her!

This class was a definite relief for me amid my other classes. You get a bunch of equations and plug in numbers, done. I think this was one of the easiest classes I have taken and Freeman presented the material in a straight forward way.

She lets you redue any assignments, including midterms... Sometimes her explanations get a little confusing because she gets distracted with Warren Buffet, but overall a great teacher and a worthwhile class.
