Fotinakes, Brian  

Brian is by far one of the coolest teachers/professors I have ever had. He makes class very fun and can really relate to students. I took the experimental class that was linked with MATE it was a little more work but for any MATE students definitely take the class. Overall, he was an awesome professor.

this guy's a total badass! he's way young and basically lectures the class how the students want to hear it. he's super chill about grading and all of the essays are not bad. definitely take him if you get the chance.

Awesome professor explains material very clearly but also makes the class fun. I really didn't mind going to this class at all and the work load was not bad. Take Brian's class if you can.

Fotinakes is an excellent teacher and he presents material well to students. However, it seems like he doesn't really grade by the rubric on essays, more like he gives whatever grade feels best.

Excellent teacher! I did not enjoy english at all throughout high school and he changed that. I actually enjoyed writing and enjoyed going to his class. Take him if you can!

If english has never been your strong point then this guy is for you. Fotinakes cuts through the fluff and tells you what you need to pass the class, and what material is or is not relevent to your future. A very amicable guy, helps you find your voice in writeing. Easily the best english teacher I have ever had.

Fotinakes was a funny guy, but I didn't learn that much in the way of English. Go in to the office hours and get help on your essays and you will get good grades on all of them. He counts participation, so go to class. One midterm, and it is super easy. Take this for an easy A.

Hands down, he is my favorite teacher at Cal Poly. He is super chill and funny. He actually went to poly for his undergrad and grad. The class is pretty easy, but he recognizes your potential and knows when you slack. His class was one of the the only classes where everyone became good friends by the end of the quarter. Take him! Hes great!

The best English teacher I have ever had. I always looked forward to the class. He made it fun to learn, and wasn't afraid to say things. Knew the students by name and definitely cared about everyone there. Amazing.

Fotinakes is a pimp, no doubt about it. Hes just one down ass guy. This is the first time i've ever felt compelled enough to write a polyrating for a professor. Hes pretty young and understating. He remembers what it was like to be a college student, which wasn't too long ago for him. I hate English class. I always have. But i found myself for the first time anticipating coming to class and enjoying sitting there. You don't really have to take any notes, i hardly ever did. What he goes over is really easy to remember, so its pretty chill. Yes you have to read and write quite a bit, after all it's an English class, but the overall course load is not bad at all. Just do your work and you'll be fine. So overall, take this guy if you can. If not, you'll definitely regret it. Don't forget, hes a pimp.
