Buck-Moyer really loves to teach, he will take the time in class to re-explain anything you need help with. Office hours are definitly worth the time and he will put as much into helping you as you need. Great professor!!

Buck-Moyer is a nice guy, but although he tries to convey the information in lecture, he can't. Often times he shows an example on the board and half way through it he gets confused and stuck. Then other students in the class that have taken physics before in high school have to point out where he's gone wrong. This makes students, like me, who haven't had a good background in physics even more confused. He also doesn't like that many questions because he doesn't like being put on the spot. His office hours can be helpful but at the same time can not...it all depends on what the subject is, making it frustrating and annoying. One of the questions on the final was a example problem right out of the book that we had never gone over, discussed, or even touched on the subject...which is also reflective of some of the problems he gives on exams. He grades on one curve at the end of the quarter, an even if there are no A's he won't redo the curve. I would recommend this professor if you have had a background in physics, but if you need a professor that can explain information well and prepares you for the exams, don't take Buck Moyer.

Be prepared to learn from the book. Buck-Moyer does not present the material logically. He is excited about his teaching styles and theories which make sense but did not add to my learning. He is a good professor to take if you like to be active in class, and he cares a lot about your individual success. I would suggest going to office hours- the problems seem to make more sense there. Sometimes I felt like the students were teaching him, though. He did not seem to have a strong grasp on the concepts. Would not take him again.
