his work was easy, but there was a lot of it.

Incompetent. Throughout my career here at Cal Poly I have had the opportunity to meet many of the pathetic people we refer to as professors. These so-called outstanding citizens are the esteemed individuals that we, as students, are to model our behavior after and learn an unlimited amount of knowledge from. The only thing I took away from Prof. Dubbink was disgust. I cannot believe that Cal Poly hires such individuals like him, and passes them off as Faculty. He is out of date, out of touch, and overall, a horrible teacher. He has an extremely dysfucntional grading system and is unreliable. He constantly looses student's work and takes no responsibility. He is never on campus and provides little help for his students out side of class. He is not concerned with the department and constantly shows up late. As a professor, he is completely and totally incompetent.

Dr. Dubbink presents CEQA in a fairly interesting way if that is at all possible. The workload was reasonable and tests were fair. A word of warning though, what he says are quizzes really contain the content of a midterm. So don't be lulled into a false sense of security and not prepare for them adequately. Just do the reading assigned, attend lectures, and you'll do okay. Dubbink is really a nice guy, and one of the best CRP professors.

First off... the resemblance to C. Montgomery Burns (of Simpsons fame) is uncanny. In fact I could scarcely concentrate on class.. the whole time I just kept thinking about Mr. Burns. At any rate.... he's very knowledgeable on the CEQA subject. He provides his powerpoints to the class, which is very helpful. His heart is definitely in the right place... he enjoys teaching and wants to share his knowledge with us students.... he's just not all that exciting. We were all lost as to how his grading system worked... at one point a rank change sheet was passed along which just confused the hell out of us... I got a +5, and a friend of mine got a -3, but our grades both improved?!?! At another point, another sheet was passed around where next to each persons name was either a white or orange box. Those with orange boxes were permitted to retake a test? I don't know.. it was all very confusing. I had no clue as to my grade at all until seeing it posted online. I voiced my concerns on certain aspects of the class, and he listened to them with an open mind (which is very rare.. most professors are arrogant assholes). The guest speakers were more-or-less interesting... especially Christine "NIMBY" Mulholland. The final assignment was pretty difficult... and the group breakdown was really unfair (but thats an issue in and of itself) When we doing a site visitation, we actually got kicked off... which was exciting. But in conclusion, Dr. Dubbink (or Dr. Dave as he liked to refer to himself) is a really cool guy, who I don't mind talking to and running the occassional question by. His teaching style needs a little bit of work... but I really feel like in the long run I got something out of his class. I was hoping for an A though!
