I am a 6th year student and have never given a comment for a teacher on polyratings. It is actually 6 am and I felt compelled to say how remarkable coget is. He does want you to learn and also takes the class go on much more than just a letter evaluation. I have learned more than just about the subject but about compassion and undersanding for others. This guy would do anything to help a student in the classroom or out. I have never had such an undersanding and amazing teacher as coget. He may be a tad hard to understand at times because of his accent but i really think i am a better person and have a new perspective on teachers just because of him. if anyone has ANYTHING negative to say on this guy EVER, you have lost your f'n mind!!!

Professor Coget cares about helping his students learn how to really look with in themselves about their interactions with other people in team atmospheres. This class consists of blogs, reading almost every class period and open note quizzes on the reading before class on blackboard. The reading doesn't take too long, and the quizzes aren't difficult if you did the reading. If you keep up with the blogs they really help you to understand the class and yourself. They are very informal and only the teacher reads them, so you can basically say anything you want pertaining to what it is you are supposed to be writing about. There are 2 midterms and a final project. The midterms are more difficult than you think, but they are multiple choice. No one really took notes, but i would suggest doing so as it might help when it comes time for the midterm. The final project is a team project that requires a good chunk of time spent with your team performing something as a team that you could not do alone. Then you write a paper and give a presentation as a group. There are other team building exercises in class that were fun and competitive exercises. I think if you put a little effort in this class you can learn a lot about yourself and how to better your interactions with others.

If I had to describe Coget in one word I would have to say passionate. He is by far one of my favorite professors at Calpoly. Even though this is not the most exciting class in the school of business, Coget somehow found a way to make it fun and interesting. Not to mention his love of the subject is very clear, and you cannot help but want to partake in his amusement. He is an extremely caring professor, something I have found to be rare in college. Overall a great guy, who could teach many of these pompass professors how to truly teach to their students without the ego trip. Coget is awesome!

Coget really cares. He cares about his class, about his subject, and most of all about his students. He will go out of his way to help you with any difficulties you may have with the material. Coget tries to get each of his students to really evaluate themselves and grow as people through his blog exercises. He is also more than willing to put in time outside of class to help you with this self exploration and growth. I would highly recomend Coget and feel that I have come out of his class with not only a better understanding of the material but also of who I am. I hope that I will be able to take atleast one more class with him while I am here at Poly.

Take organizational behavior with Coget if you can. He really takes an interseting perspective on the subject and I would go as far to say that everybody that is going into the workforce should take his class. He is very understanding with his students and genuinely cares about how they do. You have to write a "blog" entry pretty much before every other class, but you just have to be honest and clear on it and he will give you a good grade. If you have problem, go talk to him! He will help you solve it. You also have to do a project that is as involved as you want it to be. The two midterms are curved and directly from the material he gives you. Theres also a lot of reading, but most of it you should find to be at least mildly interesting. Plus his French accent is awesome.

His class was fun but a lot of work and I really don't think he's as great a teacher as people say he is. He grades pretty hard and has somewhat unclear expectations. You will spend many hours a week reading for this class and writing blogs.

Professor Coget is an enthuiastic lecturer and often provides in class team activities. In his class there is a lot reading and one large outside project which you have to do with your assigned team. There are two midterms, no final and you have to write a blog before every class and in order to get a decent grade you have to write about 4-5 paragraphs. Overall he is a good professor and I would take him again, however beware you MUST participate, it is a requirement.

The course was waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too much work. I may be wrong, but it felt like he wanted this class to be the most important course we will ever take in our lives. He expects his students to undergo some emotional transformation that will boost our careers. I can see why he gets great reviews. He is funny sometimes and he can relate to his students. But sometimes he tries too hard and you kind of feel sorry for him. Also, if you independent worker, this class might not be for you. I dont know how the other professors are, but a large part of your grade is based on teamwork. I should mention that he does care about his students, but he does so almost intrusively. Our blogs are supposed to entail aspects of our lives that I wouldn't even tell close friends, and yet, he expects us to reveal our innermost secrets(and I think the grade on your BLOG depends on quality of your revelations). He is also unclear with certain expectations. Some of the class material I did find to be quite interesting, but not enough to spend the majority of my time studying for it, especially for 8 question quizzes on 20 pages of very dull readings. All in all, some of the class activities were fun, but I think I would taken my chances with another teacher.

Extremely passionate about the subject AND his students. Very intelligent and accomplished man, even though he's so young (at least he looks like he is). If you really pay attention and take some of the material to heart, you can really learn a lot about yourself and just life in general. He is very personable and willing to help!

If you don't know how to edit a video, don't take this professor. Yeah he's nice & easy to like but he grades harshly & even he admits that he's notorious for giving hard tests. Also the entire class is based around group work, which comprises about 40% of your grade.

I was really disappointed by this professor. He comes off as being really personable, but he doesn't effectively communicate his expectations and has an unrealistic grading rubric.

This class was really interesting. I had been holding off on taking BUS 387 because I heard it was so much work but this really wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. If you study for the tests, they are not hard at all. You take the tests as an individual first and then together as a team. I can see how this class would be horrible if you have a bad group, but you are bound to get somebody who wants to get stuff done. The video takes a LONG time so make sure you start it really early. Overall, not a hard class and the classes were fun and keep your interest.

Rock solid class and professor. This is the first polyrating I've posted but I had to do it for Coget. He knows his stuff and is super down to earth. The self-reflection paper is a bit unnerving at first but Coget is a trustworthy guy and I recommend dropping by his office hours to find out for yourself. At times this class was frustrating because there is a decent amount of reading to do for the short online quizzes but all things considered it is worth it. The midterms are pretty easy if you pay attention to the readings and study them before the tests. The self-reflection paper will depend on your personality as it is probably more difficult for some than others. Hands down, the hardest part of this class is the video project (in place of a final) so get a hard-working group and pick a simple and concise topic early in the quarter. He grades them generously so don't trip too hard on it. Enjoy.

Coget was pretty straightforward. The subject matter is soft and when he does lecture, it's a little boring. Luckily, you spend a lot of class time doing activities. Make sure you get a good group, and the video project will be a breeze. I'm not sure what the reviewer below me is talking about, but we only ended up filming for about five hours. If you have someone with video editing experience, that would help. He grades the self-reflection paper VERY easily (I got a 99%) if it seems like you were open and honest. Overall, a super easy class. You'd probably learn more with PDC but Coget is way easier than Chandler.

Not much for Coget. Didn't like the subject but enjoyed all the group project. Crazy hard grader! Only reason I got a B was cause he graded our group video really hard. You have a really long paper due at week 4 but after that it's smooth sailing. Just the group project at the end. Not to bad a class if you are willing to read a lot and deal with what I find boring.

This was the BEST class I have taken at Cal Poly. Coget presents the information in a fun and dynamic way and the class load is easy. If you take the time to really listen and open up, you will not only learn so much about yourself, but your relationships with other people too. The things I learned in Coget's class, I will take with me into my career and there is no doubt about that. TAKE COGET!!!

Professor Coget is one cool dude, he expects your full attention and effort as attending every class is required. The class consist of many team activities, two exams, a 15 page self-reflection paper and a team video presentation about the course concepts. On top of a that will be daily quizzes to be complete before each class session. It may seem like a lot to do but you will learn a ton in regards to yourself, how to be productive as a team and many other business practices that will help you in your career. He has a greater understanding of organizational behavior and is always willing to help his students. I would definitely recommend him for this class.

This class has one of the most important lessons that can help you maximize your potential in the business world. LISTEN CLOSELY AND TAKE TIME TO THINK ABOUT HIS EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE LECTURES. Interpersonal communication is pretty damn important for all of us business majors if you haven't figured it out by now and this is the way to learn how to do it efficiently. Emotional intelligence, in short, is the ability to process emotional information and use it to navigate your social environment. What this means is developing your own emotional intelligence will help you develop leadership skills as well as conquer interviews, control business meetings, and optimize relationships with clients or colleagues to build out your network over your career. He knows a lot about the subject and teaches it well but most students don't make the real world connection with this subject. He is modest so he doesn't tell you it is one of the most worthwhile lessons in college (which plenty of other teachers naively do), but in reality this specific lesson is GOLD. This guy is a straight up boss. Take his class. Listen and think.

Professor Coget might just be the best Professor I've had at Cal Poly. I was actually SAD that his class ended. He's a great lecturer and teaches USEFUL information that you will for sure carry into the work force. He's the real deal, I could not be more satisfied with his class (I WAS NOT IN THE EXPERIMENTAL CLASS). I appreciate this guy's attitude and stature. He carries himself in such a way where you just enjoy being in his presence. I would definitely take another class of his again.

If everyone in the world took this class communication would be so much better. Coget is a super cool dude and is very passionate about the material. He explains things well and is always willing to help or answer questions. There is a lot of team work through the class. The tests are fairly difficult, but you get 2 attempts at it (once by yourself and the second with the team). The big self reflection paper that is due early on can be time consuming, but it is rewarding. Try to start on the video project a few weeks before it is due so you have time to edit it and make it look really good because his grading is a little tough. My biggest recommendation is to remember to participate in class. He doesn't really enforce it during class, but at the end of the quarter he told us that he does make note of who participates in class.

One of the best Business Professors I've had at Cal Poly. Very knowledgeable and a great professor. The set up was different this quarter (Winter '16). It was a hybrid class. Meet once a week in person and the other part of the class was online. Professor Coget is the type of professor that I wish I could have sat in on his class twice a week because of how interesting and smart he was. Great class. Easily the best 387 professor at Cal Poly.

Honestly, I wish I never took this frenchman. This class was one of the easiest classes I've taken and what I mean by that is no homework, just watch online lecture and show up to class once a week with quizzes once a week when you show up to class. I had an A throughout the quarter and I thought I was pretty much set with an A or B walking into the final....NO...... your final is worth 60%, I used quizlet for the quizzes which were spot on. and then coming into the final there were 50 questions that I've never seen before.. keep in mind this is the only test throughout the quarter so you literally have no idea how the tests are going to be. eneded up with a fucking C.. I nearly failed the final. Fuck this guy, fuck this bullshit 60% final. Seriously, take another professor that actually has midterms so you can at least know what the fuck youre getting into rather than one fucked up test that makes or breaks you.

Like the last 2 reviews, I was in the experimental class. I do agree that the 60% final was rough. We were also supposed to have an essay/short questions, but due to his schedule everything got pushed into the final which sucked. I think you learn a lot in this class and he really tried to help you out, so visit office hours if you're struggling! He's a great guy to just talk to and has a lot of cool life experience. The final was hard, but not impossible.

There are only three grades that make up your overall grade: overall quiz score, a subjective paper on your life that he grades very harshly, and a brutal final. I went into the final with a 90.6% because I got an 90% on quiz scores (which is higher than the average) and a 90% on my paper I poured my soul into (again, higher than average). I studied all weekend for my final and ended up getting a B on it. There's an essay portion on the final that's worth like 50% of the whole grade and it's also graded very harshly. The final questions are way harder than the quiz questions, so you don't really have a sense of what the questions will be like prior to the final. Please please please, take someone else like Daubert. I learned a lot from Coget, which was good, but ultimately, the work I did and my comprehension of the material should reflect in my grade, and I definitely deserved an A- for all the shit I had to do for this class. And this is coming from an A+ AP psych student...
