I thought she was "out there", but had no Polyratings to verify. But then, she told us her AKA. You may find extensive evaluations on this teacher under her AKA name: Alison Keleher. She told us about this name on the first day of class.

Ok, so I just have to say this class was a waste of my time. I learned more about government in my high school government class. She cancelled class twice, and wasted at least 2 lectures having us watch movies that were unrelated to what we were going to be tested on. I know some people may think that's awesome but I definitely do not. I paid to take this course I don't need her to just decided she didn't want to teach one day. Also as far as recognizing difficulties, she recognized them alright and would basically call us stupid for not knowing the difference between certain terms. She also grades the homework assignments based on grammar. Last time i checked, this is a government class, not an English class. I realize that we should be able to write by now as college students but we shouldn't get docked major points for having a grammatically awkward statement if our facts on government are correct. So all in all, she is a very condescending professor who doesn't like anyone unless they are a poli-sci major.

She's lively and energetic, comes across as a nice teacher at the start. Despite her talk about telling the truth and giving the non-biased perspective, however, she's very biased. If you're a democrat or liberal, you'd probably enjoy her wit and sarcasm. For those of us who don't agree with her, she's very difficult to handle. If you don't see things her way, your grades will suffer, NOT because she's mean or anything, but just by the way many questions are worded. I should've found another teacher, but many other students are doing very well. If you think that way, or are ok kissing up to a teacher, you'll do great in her class.

This class was great! Even though it was from 8-10pm on monday and wednesday night, Dr. Keleher/Crutchfield (she goes by her maiden name) made the time very interesting. I usually looked forward to this class actually. Also, it helps that this is one of the easier classes you will ever take. We had 2 midterms and a non-cumulative final, and they were some of the easiest tests ive ever taken. Take her class, youll learn a lot, and enjoy it too.

probably one of the worst teachers i have had here at poly. honestly she is horrible she insults the class talks down to you treats you like you are 5. she doesnt present material clearly and then if you dont answer the question right she humiliates you. lectures are a waste of 2 hrs you learn a lot more reading the book on your own. i would never take another class from her again.

This class is not hard at all.. her lectures are boring and not worth going after you get government jeopordy. It's an easy B if you read before the tests and online quizes and do the extra credit. The exams are not cumulative so once you learn the info, discard of it and you don't have to remember it again. You're totally going to hate this teacher, but the class isn't hard so I definitely RECOMMEND TAKING HER! TAKE IT! EASY

Lectures on whatever she feels like. Somehow manages to use all two hours even though she has nothing to say. You have to go to class to be successful but class is entirely a waste of time. I would advise against taking this class except for emergency.

She is so rude and such a bitch. She talks down on everyone and makes you feel stupid whenever you ask a question. She is not open to anyone else's opinion and what she says is always right. She seems so unhappy with her life and she takes it out on her students. I wouldn't even bother going to the class because she sucks so much. Just read the book and make sure to get the course mate that come with the book, which means you need to get the book new so that you can sign up for the semester long access to the website. Half of the midterm questions come directly from the graded quizzes that are online. This class is easy as long as you can stand her. SHES THE WORST!

I'm a freshman this quarter and I was super scared when I read the reviews for Dr.K. But honestly, she's really cool and she keeps the class entertained by making inappropriate jokes or cussing every now and then. She isn't a bad professor. Some people don't like her because she can come across as very mean and full of herself. There are 2 midterms, 3 essays, and a final. They are not very difficult and she offers extra credit for the midterms, which helps alot. She's a good professor, and as long as you do the readings and actually go to class and take good notes, you will do fine in the class!

First off I have to say that as a person Dr. Crutchfield is overall a nice and quirky human who is definitely passionate about what she teaches. Unfortunately, her class is BORING AS HELL. Absolutely IMPOSSIBLE to pay attention to, and not to mention drones on and on about topics and material that are NEVER put on the test. She gives a cheat sheet on every test which is basically the only reason i got a good grade in her class. Your grade is literally based off of 2 midterms and a cumulative final so if you don't do well on tests your screwed. She offers some extra credit which is nice but overall if your looking for an easy A, this is not the class to take.
