BMED 101 itself is a joke of a class. It was pretty much useless and most people didn't even show up to the lectures. It was an easy A though, and definitely a GPA booster.

This class was totally easy. All you have to do is turn in your assignments on polylearn, you dont even have to go to class. You almost have to be stupid or lazy to not get an A in this class.

Dr. Crockett was awesome and a super nice guy but the actual BMED 110 course was terrible. such a waste of time. honestly, it was a class filled with busy work and pointless assignments. i literally was poking my eyes out every class haha

Introductory class, we had class mwf and he knows no one wants to go to class on fridays, so he cancelled it half the time. Really a good guy to know for engineering, and this class introduces you to the departement members, as there is a guest lecturer every wednesday. Crockett is a really cool guy, go to his office hours and talk with him about classes or anyhting in general. Not really any homework, just little brain teasers or writing a paragraph on a lecturer.

Crocketts engr 110 is a pretty easy class...it sucks that its at 7 am but i rarely went and still got an A. Most of the classes were handed off to outside speakers and the homework was nearly always doable even if you didnt go to class. he gives alot of projects but you work in groups and its usually pretty simple

I was unimpressed with Dr. Crockett. Having ENGR 110 at seven in the morning wasn't his fault, but wasting our time for the hour we were there was. Many of his lectures were meandering and difficult to find meaning within. At one point in the quarter he forgot his materials two lectures in a row, so he openly declared he would "wing it" for those meetings. This is from a professor who so strongly emphasized accountability as a necessary trait to succeed in the engineering world. Homework was confusing at times, and very little effort was made to grade assignments, especially the final. Later in the quarter, he delegated his responsibilities in teaching the class to a friend, Dan Walsh, and a grad student, James Pickering. Unfortunately, both tended to be just as confusing and ill-prepared. If there are some nice things I can say about Dr. Crockett, the guest lecturers he brought in on Wednesdays were some absolutely fascinating people, from accomplished biomedical engineers to fighter pilots to Apple engineers. I wish every lecturer were a guest lecturer. Our discussion about the Jung typology test also proved worthy to stay awake for. Yes, I can sympathize a bit with the man. He's the chair of GENE and has a full load of responsibilities in addition to teaching his engineering classes and our 230-freshmen lecture. Being in his class was not horrible, but it was incredibly un-engaging. It fell so far of the course description in the catalog, it wasn't funny. I got an A in this class and didn't learn anything, despite how I tried. I want to be the best engineer I can be, sir, not be lauded for pitiful work. I'm sure he's a great teacher and a great guy in the other classes he teaches, but I was left unimpressed.

Crockett was pretty good, even at 7am. Rating only Crockett for this class doesn't seem quite right, because he brought in several guest speakers and co-taught the class with Walsh and a General ENGR upperclassman. I thought this was a decent class, but without the guest speakers and the projects, it would have been boring and a waste of time. Crockett did a good job getting some really cool guest speakers and he deserves praise for recruiting James (the GENE student) to lead the projects. Crockett himself did an ok job lecturing. Some of his material was boring; some was interesting. Crockett was very helpfull answering questions and also understanding about the homework (all homework was TA graded and submitted via BB, so there were some glitches at first). And, a major plus is that you're almost guaranteed an A in this class.

This class was a huge waste of time. That being said Dr. Crockett did a pretty good job with the class. He brought in some interesting speakers and did a good job working within the confines of the class. I think he'll be good for other classes.

It's hard to judge Crockett's ability to teach from just this class. I, along with many other students, do not feel like I learned anything. I think the more accurate term for this course would be a seminar; that's what it was. We showed up for an hour, listened to Crockett lecture about cool concepts like nanotechnology, and that was it. At best, I feel that I learned various bits of information about possible concentrations within Biomedical Engineering. There were no tests, and the projects were simple and not very demanding. Unfortunately it is a required course for BMED students, so you will have to take it, but it is definitely nothing to worry about. Crockett himself is a very funny and personable guy. He is extremely laid-back and seems to be very passionate about his topics. I would definitely look for his name for upcoming classes. In short: class is easy, Crockett is fun, but you won't learn too much.

ENGR 110 is the easiest engineering class you can take at Poly. The class was interesting when guest speakers came and talked about being former CIA operatives and Dr. Crockett was even a guest speaker for a lecture, which was intersting. After going to the class for a week or two, I realized that basically your grade depends on homework and the final projects. So I stopped going to class except on the day of the final. I easily passed with an A. Dr. Crockett is a business type of guy, he\'s a very good public speaker and whenever I wasn\'t sleeping in class, I enjoyed his lectures. He\'s a good guy, but ENGR 110 is basically a class that boosts your gpa.

The class itself was easy and boring, but Crockett is an excellent professor. A bit obsessed with motorcycles, but he presents material clearly and is generous with grading.

This class is probably the easiest class I will ever take as a college student. I realized early on that there is almost no point in going to the lectures. However, Dr. Crockett realizes this and assigns homework during the lecture, so you won't know what the assignment is unless you go to lecture (or have a friend tell you about the assignment). On the days when I actually stayed awake to listen to the lecture, Crockett was very interesting. He's quirky, energetic, and passionate about his work. He usually lectures about cool engineering products and industries, mainly biomedical. This class is pretty much an easy A.

Dr. Crockett is a super interesting guy and was able to make a super boring and pointless class actually tolerable. He gave a lot of facts for a widespread array of engineering majors and really helped students get an idea of what engineers really do. Just go to class, do all the homework and projects, and it's an easy A.

Dr. Crockett is a really chill professor that makes one of the most BS classes in the entire college of engineering somewhat interesting and fun. As long as you do all the online assignments you will get an A. I literally didn't go to class for over a month and was completely fine. Would love to have Dr. Crockett for a real engineering class though.

I was the one who wrote that incredibly lengthy comment which began saying that "Dr. Crockett left me unimpressed." I've since come to realize that it was the class that sucked, not Dr. Crockett. I'm having a much better time with him this quarter. Only now do I see how much he likes his students and his profession. He's totally open for questions. He goes far enough out of his way to teach custom lessons on topics the class finds interesting. The projects are more challenging than 110's, but also more relevant. Ideally, 110 could be entirely scrapped, just like my comment for it.

Crockett rocks for bmed 212 He is funny and he knows so much about industry if you like engineering and making money this is the guy to talk to

Crockett was a good lecturer. He tried to make the material interesting. That being said, the class material was extremely boring for 9/10 weeks (there was 1 lecture that was somewhat enjoyable). Homework is due each week, consisting of a 2-3 page paper on the topic discussed in lecture, and there's a quiz at the beginning of each class. I don't know if he's teaching ENGR 213 again, but take him if you can. Extremely easy class!

Missed the first day, went to the second day. Went to the midterm. Went to the Final. Three days of class total. I got a B, easy. This kind of shit gives our school a bad name.

I graduated Poly a while back in biomed. Just randomly came across this site after reminiscing with a friend about professors. I just have to say that Crockett is one of very few professors I will remember from the department. Smart dude, and extremely down to earth. Pay attention to this guy - he knows what he's talking about.

Bob is an awesome speaker, he knows how to pull you in for the real important concepts for the class, he doesn\'t really care about letter \'grades\', instead he wants the class to be an invaluable experience. I am in this class right now for Project Management, while the content itself isn\'t the most enthralling content at 1st glance, I seem to be enjoying the class more and more as it goes along, that being said, take Crockett at any possible time you can, this class is a well worth it experience for your career and life after college.

IME 577 was one of the best classes I have taken at Poly. I was one of the only undergrads in the class and loved every minute of it. Bob has a lot of experience starting up his own company and can talk alot about the logistics behind it. I think the thing that made this class so good was the "group teaching" with Bob, Dr. Reiner from the MBA program and David Cremin who is a VC for a large firm. Together they were able to present all the material we needed to put together an amazing presentation at the end. I know I will use the information I acquired from this class in the future!
