Should do more examples in class. Midterms much harder than the homework. The final was more fair and straight-forward. Nice guy but he must understand that physics majors arent the only ones taking the class...as an engineering major I don't care how you derivied the equations---show me how you applied them to the problems.

I will start out by saying Goldman was hard. The problems on the tests, midterms, and quizzes weren't cookie-cutter problems from the book. That being said, Goldman was the best physics professor I had at Cal Poly. The lectures were very informative. They started out with concepts, and then moved on to formula derivations, which I really liked. He also handed out helpful, ungraded take-home quizzes from time to time, along with a corresponding solution sheet. He was very helpful during office hours. In short, if you want to learn physics, take this guy. If you want an easy A or B, look elsewhere.

Goldman was the worst. I don't even know if he's teaching this quarter, but he sucked when I had him. I had to bs my way through 132 and don't remember anything. Good luck if this guy hasn't been fired by now

I learned that if I were to take up hunting, I should shoot deer, not bears, because a bear will hunt me back if I successfully wound it. Fascinating! I didnt know that the key to production and operations management was so brutally simple!

He's very interested in what he teaches. He didn't ever refer to any notes during lecture, he taught off the top of his head. He made the material understandable, keeping in mind quantum mechanics is a difficult subject to comprehend. His tests were fairly difficult, but the curve was more than fair. I would recommend him for this course.
