Dr. Armstrong is a very wonderful instructor and it makes me sad to know that the quarter is almost over and I won't be going to her animated and engaging lectures! She presents the material very thoroughly and there are no surprises on the tests-- all you have to do is come to class and keep up on reading. I would highly recommend this professor (and the class is very good too).

Dr. Armstrong's class was not the most interesting of classes. She is not very animated while teaching the class. Her tests are somewhat difficult, but do-able if you put in a whole bunch of study time.

Dr. Armstrong is a wonderfully nice woman who really cares for her students. She really knows her stuff and enjoys teaching. However, lectures can get boring. Some of the questions on tests seemed totally foreign to me; they were not covered on homework. If you put a lot of time into this class, you can get an A.

Dr. Armstrong is a very smart and thorough teacher. She wants you to know concepts and understand accounting more than she wants you to know how to work problems from the text. Her tests are diffcult as they are given on this premise and sometimes cover material that is not on the homework or discussed in class. The amount of homework isn't bad and she goes over the homework in detail during class. This being said, she is fair and if you study you will get a good greade.

Dr. Armstrong is a very good teacher, she knows the material very well and gives insights into the readings that I never would have seen. The class is divided up between midterm (25%), final (25%), paper (30%), and class participation and ~5 quizzes (20%). She asks very specific questions on the test, so be sure to answer them! Good notes are essential because most of what she talks about is gleaned out of the book. The tests are 2 long essay questions, but you only pick one, combined with 4 short answer and 10 multiple choice. There are 2 major readings "The Awakening" and "Sula", unless she changes it, one per test, and she asked a question from each on their respective tests. The paper is an original work and has no outside sources. It is also not allowed to have anyone else proofread your paper. Take this Class! Dr. Armstrong is a great teacher and with this class filling upper division English as well as USCP, and gives you a good chance to pass GWR, it make it a perfect fit!
