This professor grades purely on whether or not she likes the essay that you are writing about. Rarely ever makes any comments on how to improve your writing skills. Grammer is hardly touched and she presses more upon comprehending the reading from the textbook. Isn't a good expository writing teacher.

Mrs. Daly was not really very clear about what she wanted and when she was, she graded you down because it wasn't clear enough. The class was not really ever "fun." I would recommend some other teacher if you really want to enjoy English. I went in with a good attitude and came out with a bad one...just what I didn't want.

Wendy Daly is a really bad professor. When you write your essays, she expects you to know the course material that she hasn't even taught yet. She plays favorites big time. She told me throughout the quarter that I was on an A/B borderline, and then she gave me a B-. She lets the people who she favors rewrite all their essays; those that she doesn't like (like me), she tells that there is nothing else that can be done. her midterm was really stupid too--all the questions were ambiguous, and a lot of kids in the class didn't do very well on it. There's not that much homework though, and that's pretty nice. There are 3 out-of-class essays, and all the topics are dumb.

This is not a good teacher. She is rude to students both to their face and behind there back to the whole class. She doesn't assign that many essays IN A WRITING COURSE, so your grade is based off only a few, and rediculously hard quizes that only hurt one's grade. Her midterm was also rediculous. She doesn't grade fairly and is way biased. The biggest problem is there are so many sections, no one can pick who they take, because it's only listed as STAFF. Good luck, and godspeed.

Alright, so here is the low down. Professor Daly was probably the worst teacher I have had in my educational career, and that is saying something! All the postings on here are pretty accurate. She is very biased. She talks about her husband and her "new kitchen" more than English. It was clear that she didn

Yo I came into this class thinking that because i was such a good writer it was gonna be a breeze. I write the first essay, was pretty confident on it besides the stupid topic, and it came back with a D. I went in and asked her why, and get this....she started arguing with me about what i was writing about....i kept asking whether or not there was anything wrong with the structure or grammar, and she wouldnt answer. All she could bring up was she diddnt like my argument....Oh, and also she made a comment about how i was late to class a few times. Like what the hell does that have to do with my paper? Anyways so the next couple weeks i went in (on time) sat in the front, smiled, nodded gleefully and giggled at every stupid joke that whale dropped in class. Next essay comes around, and i spend half as much time on it as the first, i tried writing what she wanted to hear, and what you kjnow.....B+....Anywyas in summary she is everything a teacher shouldn't be...closeminded, uninterested in the material, uninterested in her students, blah blah...but the fact of the matter is she has some kind of issue with self esteem so if you pretend to like the broad she feels like she has to reward you with good grades....seriously....So if youz gotsta take the class just make that dumb bitch think you enjoy her.

wendy daly will not accept anything unless you share the same ideas as she does. she thinks she's so smart and up there.. but in reality, she is below us all. i have no idea why she is teaching at poly. she does not keep an open mind. instead, she wishes to brainwash her students into thinking as she does. i bet she knows that she is a bitch, but does not care. oh yes, she does not like students who are late. she takes pleasure in making everybody elses life miserable. her classes are so boring. all you need to bring to class are earplugs and a pillow.

Although I really didn't do horribly in this class, little or no credit for that can be attributed to Prof. Daly. She tends to be very vague in her explanations, and office hours/meetings often leave you more confused than when you went in. She does not have a particularly high interest in the wellfare of her students, so long as they are quiet when she is talking, nod their heads in agreement, and silently accept all that she has to say. She is very narrow-minded. Lannon (the author of the text) is always right--- anything and everything else is wrong. New ideas are NOT encouraged, as expressing such an opinion is usually fruitless. All in all, the class is bearable, but prepare to dread it for the duration of the quarter. I would not recommend her. By the way, here is practically the only way of scoring an A in the class: Brown-nose...she loves it.

Absolutely a horrible teacher. Her explanations in class were very vague (which by the way is the most frequent critique you will find on your papers). We had a huge report to do for this class and when we started we had no idea of what she wanted from us. I had a similar incident with Professor daly as did a student who wrote one of the other evaluations. I went to her office hour quite a few times for help, because I knew that I needed it. I talked to her about my paper and asked for anything that needed to be changed. She made a few comments and I changed them and turned it in. However, when I got it back, my paper was bleeding. I had some much red ink on it that I could barely see the page. Do not take this professor for anything.

this teacher does not teach she only tells you how great the author of the book is. she does not guide you in any way and you are never sure about what she really wants. she is very unclear.

She doesn't teach really, she only shows bad examaples of writing. She is relatively laid back, and at times can be funny. She is a picky grader.

I hate this teacher. She has no consideration for anyone else's argument unless it suits her own. She is a completely biased teacher and an idiot. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!

Wendy Daly is an honest, straightforward teacher. Don't take this class if you don't want to be coddled and feel like you're in kindergarden. there's no real necessity to go to class except for the fact that she takes attendance and will fail you if you miss too much. you dont need to read the books, even though she "assigns" 100-150 pages a week to read. also, don't even bother trying to use an argument that goes against what she feels is right.

My experience with Professor Daly was painful to say the least. I found her to be very biased in her grading. If she did not agree with your position on a paper, there was no way you could get a good grade. I spent an ample amount of time at her office hours seeking her approval for the final paper and making it appropriate for an A grade, only to find out that I recieved a C. I was promised that by making certain adjustments on my paper i would get an A. I found this to be very discouraging, as I spent a lot of my free time there and got no results. I think she is a horrible professor and a very judgemental person. I was uttlery dissasified with my experience in this class, despite the fact that the course material was fairly interesting. I recommend dropping her class!

Mrs. Daly is the most boring and horrible teacher i have had period. I am so sick of hearing about her husband etc. that i am about to vomit every class i have to sit through with her. she does not present material clearly, takes forever to grade papers and forget it if she doesn't like what you are writing about. maybe we should all write about what it's like to be overweight, plain, and desperate for a man to love her, especially while shoving down a cheese steak sandwich. do NOT take her if you can help it, if you get stuck, get the hell out! word up kids, if you need a stripper for a party, i hear her daughter is a hard core professional. ; )
