Alright peep it, this guy tries hard to convey the material effectively but falls a little short. I never went to office hours but I heard he's helpful. One big upside to him are that there are no surprises and all the tests are straightforward. You have past exams and a cheat sheet, common, what else do you need. The fact of the matter is, this class is not hard. All you need to do is study the exercises, hell memorize if you have to and then dominate the test. Don't be afraid of Efendi or 321 because it can easily be handled with little work.

Jap is really nice guy and he really tries to make sure that everyone does well in his class. He gives a very generous curve (A-88%, B-77%, C-66%). This class is a lot of work but he gives you all the material you need to do well. I didn't buy the book and just used the manual the department made up and still got an A. The class doesn't ever seem to get boring because you are constantly working on problems in groups and then going over the material (the whole "learn by doing" thing). Overall good professor, just sometimes hard to understand.

Great teacher, I just didn't study enough. I would (and am) taking him again. Has a few group and individual quizzes which are pretty hard, the HW isn't graded but if you don't do it, you won't do well, it is a good course, not impossible, but if you do your work and practice the exercises you will do well in the class.

I had a really rough quarter when I had Efendi for 321, and he was unbelievably understanding and helpful to me. Fantastic teacher, he has my highest recommendation if you ever have the chance to take him.

Good luck on getting a better teacher. It appears that cal poly is only going to be offering one teacher for one of accounting's most important classes, Efendi. He doesn't know how to teach and you can't learn anything from him. You can try to plead with the accounting heads to change the teacher, but I doubt they care. They are cheating us out of our money by offering a teacher with such poor teaching skills. So like me, you just have to rough through the quarter and not learn a thing. I spent the majority of the quarter in other Prof's classes in an attempt to learn the material. HORRIBLE TEACHER! Stay away!

Professor Efendi is a great guy, very caring about his students and he genuinely wants you to do well. Unfortunetely, he hasn't had much practice at teaching. His tests can be very tricky. Although he introduces you to all of the material in the practice problems, he will often switch it around for the tests in a manner that will confuse students. His lectures are worthless.. he will just reiterate what was already stated in the solutions manual to his problems. I know this class is crucial to my accounting background, and I am sad to say that I did not learn anything but how to write all the problems really small on a cheat sheet!!

he is a really nice guy, and I'm sure he's smart. he just can't teach. We were always dis-proving him and asking for the right way to answer a question, and he would often not know. This is just a really bad class. I thought it was poorly structured and I felt ripped off from Cal Poly for offering such a bad teacher.

Efendi is a great guy. He is so nice and understanding. These first couple ratings on him were from his first quarter teaching. I had him his second time around and he is a lot better! He still has difficulty teaching the materials, but from what I've heard, he has the same format as Keller. He teaches for a little then sends you off on your own to do the exercises. His test are a little tricky, but he curves like mad and will straight up give you answers while you are taking the test. Such a good guy...and I think because of his flexibility he is easier than Keller. I would recommend him.

Efendi...nicest guy you will ever meet, but his teaching skills need alot of work! This class had alot of potential, but I don't feel like I learned anything. Well, actually I learned just enough skate through his incredibly tough tests. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt in two areas: English is not his first langauge, and he is a new professor. But that's about all I can give him. I just don't think teaching is for him. But he's the nicest guy you will ever meet.

He is a nice guy and I think he knows a lot about accounting, he just isn't the best at teaching it. I think he could become a good teacher in the future if he gained confidence and learned to communicate better, but he isn't there yet. The class isn't too difficult and if you go to office hours, it will most definitely earn you a percentage point or 2 in the class, but honestly, I really didn't learn a lot and this is a very important class for accounting students, so if you can, take someone else.

I like Efendi's way of teaching. He lets you do all the work, but you learn it well. The only thing is that sometimes you learn it better than he does. Overall I would take Efendi again and recommend him to anyone who need to take BUS 322

I am not going to lie this is a really hard class no matter who you take it with. I have taken both Keller and Efendi, and personnally I liked Efendi more. Keller just gives you his package of exercises and then expects you to learn it on your own. Jap uses the same package but explains the concepts and the excercises not to mention he's humorous. He is still new and working some of the problems out of the course. He loves to help students and is very understanding and nice especially when personnal isssues arise. I have heard from other students that took him in the past that his class was horrible but that was not the experience that I had at all. If you have to take this class take him.

Jap does a great job of explaining the material clearly. He is improving as a professor every quarter. He loves to help students and is very understanding and nice especially in office hours. He is truely a nice guy. Exam questions come directly from the exercises with new numbers.

Efendi will do whatever he can to make you understand the material and give you a good grade in the process. His tests are very hard with a couple tricks and only allows 1 side of notes for the first two exams. But he curves very fairly and you only need a 88% for an A and a 77% for a B.

This class is going to require a lot of work regardless of who the teacher is. I would definitely recommend Efendi, he is patient, extremely helpful, and will basically do whatever he can to help a student understand that concepts. The curve in the class is pretty generous, similar to Keller's, but definitely study up for the second midterm (it's the hardest of the bunch). I thought 322 was easier than 321, but it's still a really dry class .. but make use of office hours because Dr. Efendi is such a great guy who really wants his students to do well. The only downside is that you have to print HUNDREDS of pages worth of exercises (which is a pretty timely and costly bitch) and the quizzes based on the chapters in the book (at least he drops your lowest score).

Professor Efendi is really very hard, that being said I took him 2 quarters in a row knowing exactly what I was in for, happily. He is a great professor. There are three exams, each is long and hard, study a lot for all of them. There are 10 quizzes, usually not very hard if you do what you are supposed to, and then he added a project, nothing hard or crazy, just something to make the whole class relevant. Honestly, I wouldn't take any other professor, he cares, he wants you to learn, and he has some outrageous powerpoints!!
