Blackwell, Samson  

Blackwell rocks! He places a lot of emphasis on essay writing, and he is always prepared to help you with your essays. He is a fair grader, and he is able to relate to his students very well. He simply made class interesting.

Samson is a stud! He made the class intresting and was actually why I went to class. The workload wasn't hard yet not easy either. He gave plenty of time to get work done and was always willing to help with assignments. If you can take class with him. P.S. ask him to show the movie he was in to the class(its not bad. well its bad, but not dirty)

Sampson is tha absolute man. basically the classes consist of 2 essays which he helps you with everyday weekly journal entries and discussion board entries. Hes a fair grader and he helps you through every draft you turn in. Besides all the academic aspects hes a totally chill guy we had a class at woodstocks and a class at linneas he was and probably will continue to be my favorite professor.. Take him hes a PIMP oh and ladies hes a good lookin guy too

Sampson rocks! honestly, don't take english 134 with any other teacher. we only wrote 2 essays the entire quarter and most of the time we just relaxed in class. 45% of our grade was just re-turning in our 2 essays and there was no final. other professors had their students write essays every week but we got to "work on ours in class".. take him! it will be the best decision you ever make!!!!!

samson is an awesome professor. he is a really laid back person and instead of being concerned about structures of essays and such, he is interested in the voice of the student. the class was pretty simple. mondays we usually read an article and then talked about it. wednesdays we thought of a topic and then discussed it and then by 9 pm on fridays we had to drop a two page paper on the discussion in the digital dropbox. the paper could be about a personal experience, news article, dictionary definition etc, just so long as it pertained to the topic discussed. really straightfoward. also, it was cool to hear the other students opinions on different topics and voice your own. then, during the quarter we had to take two of the essays that we had written and make them into four to five page essays. sounds like there is a lot of writing, but it was NOTHING. there is NO FINAL and NO QUIZZES/TESTS in this class. go for blackwell if you can get him because eng134 is a nice ge to get out of the way, and samson is by far the chillest professor to get.

honestly, best teacher ever. i know you are skeptical reading polyratings wondering if what the evaluations are true or not, but seriously take blackwell. you wont regret it. 4 essays, with as many rewrites as you want. no quizzes, no tests, NO MIDTERMS or FINALS!! classes got cancelled a couple of times. but what was really cool is that he would meet up with every person in the class individually for 10 minutes after you turned in an essay to talk about it. when this happened you would only have to meet up with him for that 10 minutes, and thats it for the week! the rest of the class is cancelled during these times. blackwell is extremelyyyyyy laid back, coolest teacher ever. you can talk to him about anything! i had this class 6-8 at night, which sucked! that is such a crap time, but if i had to take him at that time again, i totally would. if you get him, youre lucky.

I HATE english and was so scared to take this class, but I ended up loving it! Samson is amazing. He made writing fun. I learned a lot from him and it was easy. He even helped me with my speeches for my SCOM 101 class. He is a greeat guy! You wont regret taking this class
