Berger is a horrible teacher. He teaches us problems in class that I can understand and finally get by the end of class, however; the information "for the day" is highly irrelevant to what the homework problems are in the book. If you are required to take math 114, or any math with him as a teacher, you might as well just teach yourself the information and equations because that is exactly what everyone had to do when taking his class. Try to take another class with a different teacher...I urge you to.

Dr. Berger was really cool. He made the math intriguing and exhilarating. He was also very helpful in office hours. Above all, his Members Only jacket was TOTALLY RADICAL. Being in his class made me feel like I was in an 80s film. Take math from Berger. He's RADICAL.

Guy was an awesome teacher. He encouraged people to come to office hours, and made it a priority to be there when a student needed him. He offered chances to bring up your grade, as well as help people who weren't understanding the material. I was way sketch the first day because he was young, and just went through problems the whole time. But he ended up being really awesome, and lots of examples helped me learn the material a lot better than talking about each thing. Take Guy if you struggle in math because he is super willing to help improve your grade and give attention to students who need it.

Prof. Berger was amazing!! Although, I did find it hard to concentrate on math because he is such a babe! I mean, all the girls, (and some of the guys) were totally into him. He knows his math and his way with numbers (if you know what I mean). Anyways, I really learned alot of math in Mr. Berger's class, I only wish he failed me so that I could sit in his class again. He was also really great about making time for me during his office hours.

Berger was perhaps the worst teacher i have ever had. Don't get me wrong he is really smart, but he just lacks the ability to TEACH! This is a slight problem in Math! I got a C only because he had to put a huge curve on the class so that some people could pass. Yes it was that bad! Avoid this guy like the plague. HE CANNOT TEACH!

Guy Berger is a very intelligent guy who knows his math. However, when it comes to teaching skills he lacks the ability to clearly instruct the class. I'm not good in math and I admit that, but I have never before had to struggle so much in my life to acheive a B in this class. It got to the point where I couldn't listen to his lectures anymore because I, as well as multiply people in my class, were so lost, and had to turn towards the book and teach myself as soon as I got home. If you are willing to take this class just be prepared to work extra hard on your listening skills, raise your hand often when you don't understand and ALWAYS refer back to the book if all else fails.

I am thinking that Guy wrote all of this positive stuff about himself. What a doosh. He is a Grad Student. Very Smart, I'll give him that, but lacks the ability to teach. Aviod this Guy, and all grad students if at all possible. They lack the ability to teach!

stay away from this guy. he is a nice guy and doesn't give a whole lot of homework, but is a crappy teacher. his lectures are ok, but that is only if you are already fairly good at math. Otherise, your screwed. Also, he doesn't give any midterms. He just gives a short quiz every week. But don't let that fool you. it's easy to get lulled into a sense of complacency. the quizzes always tend to be tricky and hard, and they're worth 50% of your grade. So you cant afford to slack off on the quizzes. The worst part of the class is definitely the final. It is extremely hard. I think I was averaging like a D going into the final(thanks to the quizzes). Luckily, we had a scantron test and I managed to guess my way to a C+ overall in the class! Honestly, I still cant believe it because I didn't know what the hell I was doing. Note to Cal Poly: stop hiring freaking grad students to teach classes! My parents are paying alot of money to send me here. I want real teachers.

Berger is not a ver helpful teacher. He gives out worksheets as your notes, they are just problems from the book that he put on a worksheet that you go over in class. If you can learn material from doin only problems and NO REAL instruction then you should take Berger! But people who need a little more guidance and lecture should NOT take him! It was awfule, he gives a quiz every tuesday and the quizzes are on stuff that you learned the week before so you don't know any of it and it goes way more in depth then he ever did in class. Berger was a HORRIBLE teacher who lacks the skills to teach a college level course!

You people must be crazy, Guy Berger is a really cool guy who is bomb at math. He is really helpful if you actually want to know the material. He will work with you for hours in order to help you master the material at hand. Don't listen to these other reviews; college is about hard work and learning. It is somewhat difficult to learn to indepedently learn the material and it is not his resposibility for you to "get it". That responsibility rests solely on your soldiers. So please, if you came to college to learn, take Guy, but if you came here for 13th grade don't.

ohhh mr. guy berger....this hot little jew was definitely tangent to my curves. after class we would engage in tantalizing intercourse, where amidst saying my name, he would moan "integral, derivative, limit, YEAH.." After his class, I can't even look at intersecting lines without seeing our bodies intersecting...over...and over....and over again... =) don't even get me started on his naked office hours...i'd recommend professor berger to anyone who wants math to be hot and sexy!

All of you saying that Mr. Berger was a bad teacher must be really stupid. The man, besides teaching the ladies a little something about how sexy a math teacher can be, is simply brilliant. I mean I'm not very smart and I got an A. So that must mean that you, my friends, are just bitter about your dumbness, especially when comparing yourselves to Mr. B. Take this class because it is easy and especially if you are a girl looking for some eye candy for a quarter. Broncha is also pretty cool.

Guy is no doubt a very smart young man, obviously he is a math grad student. Although he is very intelligent he fails to pass that knowledge down to his students. When explaining problems he skips steps so for all of us who are not good at math it is hard to understand. Weekly quizzes are given that make up for 50% of your grade but they only bring you down because they are nothing like the problems done in class. Grad students just shouldn't teach...DO NOT TAKE HIM!
