This is a lame site. The comments are statistically insignificant. Most comments lack basic grammar and spelling skills.

I don't know why i chose credit/no credit for this class, i'm positive i could've aced it. Prof delaure is an awesome teacher, very approachable and understanding, yet is still very professional. She's very young which helps if you hate listening to old people ramble on and is almost always humorous and cheery. Great teacher overall.

Professor Delaure is an awesome teacher. At first I thought speech is going to be hard, but she made speech class so much easier than the ones my friends had. She is very approachable and very helpful both during class and office hours. She also gives you lots of ideas when you get stuck on a topic.

Delaure is one hot babe! She's probably one of the hottest teachers i've ever had. That alone is a good reason to take her class, not to mention the fact that she is a good and easy teacher. Basically, you give a speech every other week and write a couple of easy speech evaluations. The final isn't too bad. The only reason i didn't get an A is becuase I didn't turn in the final speech evaluation at the end of the quarter. P.S. I did not have sexual relations with that woman....unfortunately.

Marilyn is wonderful! I would highly recommend her to anyone... she is very approachable, friendly, and a great teacher. She gave very helpful comments after each speech presentation and really recognized student's improvement in speeches.

I was dreading speech, not because I'm a bad public speaker, but because of what I'd heard about all the profs. Luckily, I took Marilyn's class, and it was one of the most useful, relaxed classes I've taken at Poly. She doesn't give busywork, or make you sweat over your speeches. She gives excellent advice, and by the end of the quarter, everyone in class had greatly improved.

Professor DeLaure is definitly the BEST professor I have had at Cal Poly. Her Persuasion class was so interesting and very useful in every day life. I recommend taking this class if you need a filler elective or if you want a fun class. I even enjoyed her lectures because they pertained to everyday life. Anyone would find the information in this class as useful. She is totally awesome! I wish she could teach some Psychology classes, she would definitly make them interesting! Study her lecture notes and you'll do fine on her tests, they are very straight forward. Her tests are a little long, they do take some time, but if you study enough you will do fine.

Persuassion was a great class which expanded my views about our modern world more than many other classes that I've taken so far. The rich material is interesting, insightful, and fun. It can be a little depressing to read some of the material and come away feeling like we are all being persuaded and can not control any of it. However, the purpose of this course is not to make you depressed, rather it focused on ways people, like you and me are persuaded on a daily basis and how we can combat this, while at the same time using positive persuasion to our advantage. Marilyn Delaure is a also great professor. She is understanding, funny, young, intelligent, compassionate, and great to talk to. I would recommend this class and this teacher to anyone seeking a greater liberal arts education.

Marilyn is the saving grace of the burnt out crew in SCOM. take her and you will be glad she is there. you will learn a ton, she is not at all freaky or power trippin.

Marilyn is probably the best professor I have ever had in my whole life. Our whole class loved her! She looks really young, in fact you might mistake her for a student the first day of class, but really she is brillant. She was able to explain the material well and make class interesting. Even students who hate the rhetorical aspect of SCOM will get alot out of her class. If you ever get an opportunity to take her, do yourself a favor and sign up for her class.

Marilyn is WONDERFUL! There is a lot of reading, but there is always a discussion that follows if you are having a hard time with the material. Yes, you have to work!!! BUT you will want to work for her. One of the best professors in our major hands down. She is always willing to help you, but you may have to wait awhile during office hours because everyone loves to see her (because she is so darn wonderful!) Requirements: - Reading every night - Two papers (You can do virtually any topic you want, so it is very fun to write) - One Final

Completely overrated. Marilyn focuses more on getting students to like her as a friend then as a teacher.
