She just lectures off of slides that you pring off the internet...so, there really is no point in going to class. Her tests are really difficult, but shes does drop the lowest midterm score, which saved my grade!!!

I can't complain, given she was teaching Economics at 7:00 in the morning, and I stayed awake. Econ in itself is a rather bland topic, but it was interesting enough. This instructor is above average, I would say. She posted all the class notes on Blackboard, and explained what was going to be on the test. She also throws out the worst of three midterms, so if you mess up on one it can be taken out of your final grand. No homework is collected or assigned, but make sure you do well on the tests. The instructor can be a bit monotone, but is, overall, a worth while instructor

This teacher was horrible. Although I did okay in the class, she is so monotone that I almost always fell asleep. You are better off just reading the book than going to class because all she does is read right off of her power point slides that she puts on blackboard. Oh, and after every sentence, she says "Okay," it was extremely annoying!

Gonzalez just reads off the power points. She'll answer questions in class and she knows what she is talking about, but she just reads more than explains. I did well on the first two of three midterms, and since she drops your lowest one, I got much satisfaction of just skimming the third onw to get an idea for questions and filling out C down the scantron. How often can you do that? (one midterm 35%, second midterm 35%, and the final is worth 30% of the grade) If you have a pretty good understanding for economics already, I wouldn't be afraid, but I can't tell if she does a good job of teaching to people who are getting this for the first time. You're not screwed if you get her, but see what other options you have.

dr gonzalez was TERRIBLE. ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE. but i am thankful to her for one reason, and that is that she helped me understand that having a good teacher really does affect one's grade. she posted all her lectures on blackboard, which was really nice, but when i went to her lecture, all she would do is read straight off the slides, which came straight out of the book! she would basically copy the text from the book and paste it on a slide! it was SO frustrating being in her class because i always thought that i could refer to the textbook if i was confused by a slide, but that doesn't work when the slides ARE the text! AND- she could be, by far, the most BORING person i've ever encountered in my life. she lectures with absolutely ZERO enthusiasm, zero to slim clarity, and i would avoid taking her again at all costs, unless you had a really strong understanding of economics before signing up for this class.

BORING AND MONOTONED best describe this mistake of a teacher. All she does is read from slides which are available online. She does not engage students interest at all nor try to make the class interesting. Didn't crack a smile all quarter. Midterms were impossible, with the class averaging a C- on most of them. I felt unprepared with all of the material covered so quickly. Avoid this teacher at all costs.

she has big boobs, but she doesnt smile, horrible teacher, i never went to class, studied on my own and got an A-, she cant teach at all, ignore her lectures and study from the book and the study guide that u can get w/ the book, and u should get at least B's, her tests r basic and not difficult if u put a good 4 hours of studying the night before, ull be good

She is an extremely boring teacher, teaching an extremely boring subject. She reads you her powerpoints, which you can get off the computer, so it's hard to be motivated to go to class. Its a typical lecture class,3 test(she drops your lowest score)and one final(cumulative). The only homework is to keep up with the readings which I strongly suggest doing, you can easily get an A or B if you dont procrastinate too much. Its one of those classes where I found myself rarely going and when I did go I was just trying to stay awake, so definitely dont sign up for a early morning or late night class.

This is a great class to take. Yeah, the lectures are boring, but it's econ...what else do you expect? I don't know why everyone rips on her for being so boring. I've definitely had professors who were much, much worse. Don't even bother getting the book or the study guide. You don't need it. There are power point printouts and her lectures follow these almost exactly. There are some fill-ins on the slides, so it's helpful to go to class. Also, on days when attendance is low she'll give out extra credit for being in class, so I would recommend going. She gives out questions to answer on each chapter. These questions aren't helpful for the tests, though. All the test material comes from the powerpoint slides. Study the examples from the powerpoint slides for the tests. She gives fair tests and is very fair about grading. There are 3 midterms and a final which are all graded equally, and you get to drop the lowest score, which means you don't have to take the final if you score well on all the mid-terms. There is no homework. She is a good teacher to take since it's an easy grade and no homework. Lots of people have trouble with econ because of bad profs, but she is not one of them. I would recommend taking her.

I liked Dr. Gonzalez. It was her first year teaching so you have to take that into account. She did read off the slides, but I found that helpful because you have all the test information in compact form. Sometimes I had to go to office hours to get a better understanding of the information. She was always willing to help. She is a nice person and is younger so she understands how students think. The slides were easy to follow and the tests were all multiple choice and clear. I would recomend her.

She isn't the most enthusiastic person about the subject she teaches. She is really monotone and it gets hard to get through her lectures, but the class is really easy. I took econ in high school because it was required and this class was almost the same. A lot of the class was the same as my high school class which made it WAY easier. Don't bother getting the book or guide because she copies it onto her powerpoint presentations, and only tests on that. The only time i opened the book was at the very beginning of the quarter, then never opened it again... just studied off the slides. The class is easy if you show up to class and can manage to sit through the boring lectures.

Slide Reader... decent teacher. reads her slides, plays a funny video, talks about her cute baby. She is Almost Hot, but there is something about her, i'm not sure, but it was 7 in the morning so i'm not going to judge. She is busty and pops out of her buttonup collar shirts. Her first midterm is ok, the second one is impossible, and the final is pretty hard too. Requires quite a bit of studying.

This class was extremely boring! She just reads slides for two hours straight and does not really explain anything. There are three tests (two midterms and the final). But definitely way better and cuter than lindahl who I had for 222.

She's not a bad teacher but she isnt a good teacher either. Her lectures are boring and very monotone! She looks like a student but she says she has been teaching for 5 or so years. But you'd think that this was her first time teaching. There are 4 tests in the class, straight from lecture, you dont need the book at all, the tests are kind of hard though and she doesnt grade on a curve, which i thought sucked. Overall, you can manage to pull out a B. She gives out worksheets to help with the tests, so that helps

Although this class is boring and Julie is monotone, it is very straightforward and easy. You do not need the book as she basically reads the book for lectures. She seems pretty cool and nice to talk to (probably because she looks like she is another student). All in all, I would take this class again with Gonzalez.

Gonzalez is a very straight forward in her lectures. You don't need the book at all. Her lectures get boring at times, but the class is very easy overall. All of her lectures are on blackboard so if you don't go it's not that big of a deal.

Not much i can say here. Prof. Gonzalez's class is incredibly boring. The workload however is not too bad. There are 2 midterms 1 final and 2 article write-ups. She also gives out handouts so you can understand the material better. She does curve a little bit too on the exams. Avoid, though, if possible.

there wasn't much work in the class. but if you don't have a good econ background this class will be hard b/c she doesn't really explain. her class is definately hard to stay awake in.

What the guy/gal below said. Amen. I too took this class and have long since graduated from Poly, but I was cruising Poly Ratings for a kick and thought that I should pipe in and let you know how much of a joke this prof is.
