Always happy to be in class and happy to answer questions. Nothing outstanding about her, but then again, nothing bad either.

mrs. Cochran was a great teacher. I enjoyed her teaching style a lot, it was clear and understandable. If you go to class, or at least get the notes, then you will do just fine. Everything on the test is from the overhead notes, so it really isn't necessary to go to class, but be aware, she notices when you are gone. Overall, she really wanted people to do good in the class, so her office hours are really helpful. I would completely tell anyone to take her as a teacher and if you do the homework and study your notes, it is an easy A.

This lady is absolutely crazy. She has the worst mood swings I've ever witnessed! One mintue she's happy and the next she's yelling at you. If you do take her don't ever miss clas because when you go to the next class she'll give you the guilt trip. You'll also miss out on all the homework she assigns, which is a lot! We had a midterm six days before the final! Plus all through dead week she still assigns lame homework assinments. All her course material is pointless and the homework is so time consuming. Even if she has nothing to say she'll grag class to the very end by talking slow or showing pointless slides. SHE'S HORRIBLE, DON'T TAKE HER!

dr. cochran is not a good teacher or a bad teacher. she is not very interesting but her class is fairly easy and though she assigns a lot of homework it is easy and her tests come right out of the notes

Kerry Cochran is a cool person and a good teacher. If you are half alive you will pass this class. It consists of 3 midterms, a term project (on grocery store prices), a few homework assignments and a speaker paper due after each speaker. The midterms are true/false, multiple choice and a few concept questions. Very easy if you have been keeping up with your lecture notes in the notebook provided because all the material comes out of there. Overall i would definitely take this teacher again and would recommend her to anyone, oh yeah and ask questions and go to her office hours so she knows you and will like you.

Kerry is nice and is a very fair grader, but has kind of an annoying voice and isn't that interesting. But overall she is a solid professor.

This fricken teacher needs to realize that she is an agb teacher and not an english teacher. She will do whatever she can to take points away from you. (ex. my indent was 1.25" instead of 1" = -10%) She totally fucked my grade and every one else i have talked to said the same thing. She knows her shit, but expects you to already know it too.

Kerry was one of the best profesors I have had at Poly. She was clearly happy to be in class everyday and presented the material clearly. She had no problem explaining the material in further detail and spending more time on a subject that interested the class. I would take another course with her anyday.

I really liked AGB 202 with Dr. Cochran. She is a good teacher. I learned a lot and am now working at an internship in ag sales.

I dont know where to start. Kerry Cochran is by far the worst professor I have ever had at this university. The workload for this class is that of at least 10 units worth of class and is complete BS. Besides listening to her personal ramblings about being in the peace corps she has no credible experience what so ever. The 40-60 page single spaced paper done individually was not only a waste of my time the grade received was completely based on my PERSONAL RELATIONSHIP with the professor grading was not based on performance in the class. Daily quizes were the highlight of my day when i would receive a grade of "OOPS" if questions were missed. Readings every day were no less than 40 pages of garbled rhetoric. This class if taken with any other professor is very valuable. However my experience with Cochran was comparable to living hell. DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFFESSOR FOR ANY COURSE. I made the terrible mistake of taking her for 202 at the same time and was submitted to torture that no student should ever have to pay for or endure.

Ok, so to be fair to Kerry, I will admit that she is a nice person, and knew her stuff fairly well. She has had a lot some international experience herself, and was more than willing to share them with us. The material itself, though, I did not find particularly interesting, and I felt that the way in which it was presented could have been taken at a different approach. My major problem with Kerry was the workload she assigned, and her grading. We were assigned a chapter of about 30 pages a night to read, with the chance of having a pop quiz everyday. The chapters were long and boring, and said the same thing over and over. The day before the exam (thanks for giving us ONE NIGHT to study) she would give us a study guide (thank god because there was way too much material to learn w/o one) which specified what we should know for the test - would have been nice to have it when we were reading so we could have concentrated on the important information. No one got an A on the mid term, yet she still did not curve the test. Her exams were not extremely difficult, it was just that she kind of warped the question so that even if we knew the info, it was hard to be sure you had the right answer. We were also given other assignments on top of all the readings. Ok, here comes the worst of it. The Country Export project. By the time she explained the project to us and we were shown where to find the info we needed, we had about one week to do the first part of this paper, and then were given less than 2 weeks to complete the finished project after that. I spent two entire weekends, plus some days during the week doing to first part, and got a D on it! I was appalled. I knew i had deserved a better grade than that, but we were given a chance to increase our grade on the first part by fixing it and turning it in with the second part. I spent even more time on the second part, a full 2 days fixing the first part - my final paper ended up being 60 pages. I included everything that I was supposed to, plus so much more, and got a final grade of C+. This seemed to be the norm throughout the class, with the exception of the class pet, which I found quite interesting. In closing, this class consumed a good part of my life. i spent more time on it than any other class, yet still received worse grades, and i know I am not THAT stupid! She expected way too much work out of us for a 4 unit class, and did not grade fairly. I would not wish this class on anyone - take any other professor if you can!

This is a great teacher! Going to her class is very interesting because she is so enthusiastic about her job. This class will take alot of time though. A huge paper is required that is due at the end of the quarter (mine was 34 pages). Her tests are not to hard. She gives you a study guide but the questions are reasonably easy. I reccomend taking her if you would like to have an interesting, fun class with quite a bit of work.

Professor Cochran is an awesome teacher. I am not the smartest student, but when it comes to taking classes from Cochran, I always seem to do well. I earned a B+ in this class and I didn't work too hard to earn that grade! She has a great way of teaching that makes you want to come to class (okay maybe miss a few)! Her midterms and final are basically her class notes. So, all you have to do is study your notes from class and you'll be fine. With the big export project, it isn't too bad. I looked at someone's old project as a guide to what to do or what you should do on it. That helped a lot!

I know a lot of people don't like Kerry, but I think she's great! I had her for AGB 202 as well and loved her. She actually gets the class involved in the subject matter. Although she may assign a ton of reading, that must be done on a nightly basis, it's worth it when she gives a pop quiz the next day. Kerry's very enthusiastic about her job and the agriculture around the world. I took AGB 318 on quarter at sea, so I did have a bit of a different experience, but the material's the same. If you ever intend to get involved in world food issues talk to her. You do have to earn her respect, she doesn't just hand it out. Once you have that, you're golden...she can be your friend and professor.

This teacher assigns an insane amount of work. She assigns 50 pages of reading to be completed before the next class, plus articles she hands out in class. She talks and talks for days and she is extremelly boring. She assigns so much homework it feels like a 6 unit class, not to mention the 30-40 page research project. Bottom line- this teacher sucks badly. This class is a pain because of the teacher, avoid her at all cost

Corchran assigned way too much work. Sometimes I would be so caught up in all the assignments I really couldnt get all the material. She is a really smart teacher and knows what she is doing, but she needs to bring it down a notch for the sake of her students.

Dr. Cochran is very enthusiastic about this subject and presents the material pretty clearly...HOWEVER...if you are planning on a four unit course, do not take Cochran because the workload she assigns is pretty much equivalent to 8 units!!! She assigns tons of reading, homework assignments, and a huge export project that consumed a majority of my time throughout the quarter. This class definately took away from my other classes. If you don't mind a lot of work, take this class! The midterm and final are pretty easy and you will learn a lot........but again TONS OF WORK!!

This teacher seemed to me to be biased. (or maybe it would be called an attitude) There was only 4 big field trips. I missed one and turned in all the rest of the essays and homework. From that I got an F. ???

I liked this class a lot. It was fun and you get to visit Agribusinesses in the area. I advise that you take it for an elective or if it will satisfy a requirement.
