Professor Clark is probably the best professor I've had at Cal Poly. He is funny (deadpan sarcasm) as well as incredibly knowledgeable. I looked forward to every single class, and it always felt like a tiny community, a very collegial and laid back atmosphere. The class is ridiculously easy and you have no excuse to get anything less than a B (I got an A and it felt like I barely tried - studied less than two hours the entire quarter for exams). He has a ton of experience and was able to go into rich detail on some aspects of planning while maintaining the speed of a survey/intro class. I cannot recommend this class and Professor Clark highly enough. I thoroughly enjoyed the experience and I am excited to be able to take at least one more class with him.

Professor Clark is hands down my favorite professor I've had during my time at Cal Poly. He is such a knowledgable and funny guy, and he makes every topic so fun and easy to listen to. This class does not require that much work. With that being said, don't fall behind on the quizzes because it is impossible to cram them all in before the midterm and final. This was such an interesting class and you can tell how passionate he is about the subject so he makes it a great learning environment.

He's dat boi. He tries to present relevant information and use engaging examples in a class that's very broad and not very engaging. big fan of his humor as well. Also very easy A, which is nice for once at Cal Poly.

Great lecture every time. There were a few homeworks but they only took about an hour each.

Generally an enjoyable class. He made a potentially dull course quite entertaining. My number one complaint about this professor was his lack of organization. Writing assignments were never evaluated/returned, other than a grade posted to blackboard. Files on blackboard differed from the lecture. The day before the midterm, he announces a significant change to the structure of the test. Heck, one week he went 2 1/2 hours into lecture before anyone realized he was a week ahead of the syllabus. But overall, it was an enjoyable class, and I don\'t feel that it was for nothing. I\'ve had worse.

Take to heart what he says. He has been in the environmental planning field for a long time, for those of you who are looking at environmental law as a career. This was a very enjoyable elective for me, being an environmental engineering major. He makes the class laid back. The workload was very light, and there was one midterm and a final. Also, there were two projects, a case brief and a portfolio (which was just a longer case brief). As a side note, he did tend to pay attention more to the CRP students, so if you really like this subject and want to learn more from him, go to his office hours. Other than that, excellent instructor with a great sense of humor. Take the course!

Possibly the Best Professor I have ever had. Hilarious guy, Makes the class relevant but still entertaining, and a fantastic storyteller to keep you engaged. On a personal note, I went to his office hours to talk to him about Law School applications as he has a Law degree, and not only did he help me figure out my future for an hour, but also wrote a kick ass letter of Rec. Amazing guy and an even better professor. I took him for 212 and 408, both were my two favorite classes at Cal Poly. If you have a chance to take him, do it for the comedy if nothing else. Much Love Chris.

Received an A. For this class you have to choose reliable group-mates. Our team consisted of 2 CMs & 2 CRPs. We worked on each others strengths and weaknesses. Attendance is not mandatory, but you have to cooperate with your group-mates if you will be gone for that day and to make sure you always do your part in the work load. For me I liked doing the heavy-lifting that was my compensation, but I couldn't have done it without my team. Our group was perfect as we had clear communication and everyone was always in sync. -Specific Plan High Speed Rail Station, Escondido.

Chris Clark is the man. He has this class down to a well oiled machine. If you have questions, ask him and he'll explain anything without being a total dick. Theres no final exam, just three assignments to be submitted, a peer review that was worth 15% of your grade based on whether or not you turned it in, and a quick presentation at the end. I didn't do a second of work outside the class and it was a breeze

Missed the first day, went to the second day. Went to the midterm. Went to the Final. Three days of class total. I got a B, easy. This kind of shit gives our school a bad name.

Chris is a very funny guy. Even though it's a law class, he presents the material very simply and provides good examples.

When I signed up for this one, my first thought was "law... this is going to be boring." Instead it wound up being the best class I had that quarter... the only one where I attended every lecture too. I found myself wanting to go to the class to hear Chris's take on the various planning issues.... his sense of humour is great! And he always managed to relate even the most boring legal issues to the students. Best CRP class I've taken so far... but the reading is extremely dry. The written assignments give us a ton of creative freedom.... the tests are fairly difficult, but with reading and lecture notes, it's a piece of cake.

Very easy class, but useful information- very relative to the job market as I am about to graduate. I really enjoyed going to class and listening to his stories and humor in his laid back class setting.

Professor Clark was a refreshing change from your typical professor, especially if you are from a technical major. He's well versed in the material and works hard to keep things interesting. He does expect work outside the classroom, but hey it is a graduate class. I highly recommend the class.
