Cirovic has his ways of teaching and doing things, because he is always right and you are wrong. You must do things according to HIS ways to get the points he think you deserve. So if you can get your hands on the old exams you're golden because all he does is to recycle them every other year with a few changes here and there. Scribble all the problems on your note-sheets and transcript the stuffs on the actual exam and earn full marks. Cirovic's 409is way too easy to not get an A, compared to Ahlgren's Scantron 402, this class is cake.

I can't really say much about the class, mainly because it's basically an introduction for us EE majors. However, I felt that Dr.Cirovic did a very good job at keeping us interested in the class. I actually sat right up front because, although the material wasn't the most exciting thing we could have gone over, he would actually add on his own expertise to the topic to make it much more interesting. I also liked how he used examples to clarify topics so that even the dumbest person like me could understand them. Very good professor.

EE110 was a joke. We just sat there for an hour a week while he talked about himself (to himself?). While the topics are a little bit interesting, and the guest speaker was very interesting, mostly it was a boring class. Unfortuntly, it is required, so just grin and bear it.

He is a great teacher. But you dont have to do anything in this class which is great!!!! Definitely want to take this class for the unit and easy A if u attend most of the lectures and sign in and stuff.

He is a good teacher. He actually cares about teaching students to be real engineers. He wants them to be able to do research and to figure things out on their own. The topics in his lecture are very interesting and are sometimes real applications in the real world of engineering. However, I must say that his class is definitely not an easy class. His tests are unlike any test I have ever taken. All the test questions are design problems. Knowing formulas don't help you at all in this class. You must UNDERSTAND the materials. I also had him for EE 349. The design projects are excellent. I actually learned a lot more in the lab than in the lecture.

He is cool. He knows his stuff and you have bust your behind if your going to be in his class. His stories are funny the first time around. New york gringo!!

He is one of the few professors in the EE dept with a personality. His tells funny stories and jokes in his class, but he lectures fast. The good thing about this class is that there are a butt load of old midterms going around, and the midterms he gives are very similar to the old ones. Here is how he grades: 40% idterm, 60% final. So dont screw up. His grading also seems kinda arbitrary sometimes. My friends and I had studied for this midterms by going over old midterms, and when we got our tests back, we all got a different number points and we did the problem the same way. but, he lets you argue points back. He also ocasionally cancels class, and he wants you to learn the material which is evident from his midterm questions, essentially all of them ask you to design some widget with certain specs to perform a specific function. Pretty good teacher overall.

During this entire quarter all I could think about was how this professor reminded me of that small little dog that runs through the back of scene 23 in The Incredibles by Pixar. Seriously, if you look it up you will only be able to see it...

He's one of the faster paced teachers in the EE department; things go on the board and then they're erased very quickly, so you better pay constant attention. His tests are NOT designed to be completed in time, and I really think he cares more about gauging our intelligence than teaching. However, his old tests are so similar, all you need to do is memorize the solutions for the midterm and you're set. (for the final, you're on your own)

This instructor's technical knowlege is weak when compared to some of the PH.D profs. He'll spend more time telling unrelated stories from his personal experience then actual knowledge that will make you educated. Basically, he's self absorbed and loves to hear himself talk. Read the text thoughly and you have a chance of actually learning something. Attend class and learn nothing (except how to golpher proof tele wires) Midtern is carbon copy of privious midterm. Final, everybodies screwed cause its design probs that are pretty intense. The course itself is awesome, probably one of my favorites. Instructor, not my fav. In fact, stick the office work C-dog cause you are a horrible communicator.

Take someone else if possible; this guy is worse than Agbo and Ahlgren combined (if that's even possible!)

Cirovic is retired now and only teaches a few EE courses. He has a lot of interesting stories and is a fairly nice guy. You will hear his stores OVER and OVER. I think he does the best he can with our senior design class. He doesn't use notes, which kinda sucks. He tries to remember the whole class and he forgets things at times. If you put decent effort into studying the circuits he talks about, you will do fine. If you want an A, you really need to know your shit inside and out. He only gives a midterm and a finals so if you mess up on the midterm, you need to study your ass to prove to him that all your 5+ years of work haven't been for nothing. Do well on the final and pass. That's the main thing. Cirovic is just one of the profs you need to get by to graduate. EE's at poly have had to deal with him for over 40 years, so deal with it.

So glad this class is over, there is pretty much no way to study for the midterm and final as they're all design problems that you've never seen in your life. Average on midterm was 44 and for some reason me and my friend got different amounts of points even though we did the same amount of work (though he does let you argue for points back). Fortunately there's plenty of old copies of midterms floating around. Final was like a slightly longer version of the midterm, but by that time you should have an idea of what his tests are like. Just kick ass on the final, pass the class and never look back.

HORRIBLE!! You learn nothing and he is a waste of time. I got an A in the class because I studied hard. His lectures are worthless and random. Don\'t ever take him. He teaches you nothing and makes you feel sad to be an EE.

Cirovic is a very unfair professor. Here\'s my experience: I got a problem correct on a test but for some reason Cirovic thought that I got it wrong and gave me 15/20. After talking to a friend of mine in the class, I found out that my friend got the problem COMPLETELY WRONG but he gave him 16/20. He did give me points back after I talked to him in his office but that was just a hassle. It wasn\'t just that one time that he treated me unfairly. There was another time where he put design problems on a test. He called some people\'s names out during class because he said he didn\'t understand what those people were doing on the design problems. He called my name out. Later on I found out that my answer to one of the design problems was so similar to that of my friend\'s answer. Cirovic didn\'t call my friend out in class and gave him 32/35. I went to talk to him in his office but he didn\'t agree with my solution. He gave me 18/35 and said, \"I can\'t give you more than this.\" My friend was so nice that he took his own test and showed Cirovic that our solutions were so similar. After all that hassle, Cirovic finally gave me back the points. If you happen to take him for EE 409, make sure you compare the points you get and your answers with at least 3 people. Otherwise, you won\'t know if you lose points for no reason or if you are being treated unfairly.

This guy is super full of himself and doesn't like to explain things, or reference anything out of the book. He's one of those teachers who prides themselves on sitting back and doing nothing while he claims to be helping you "get ready for the real world" despite the fact that later on in life your coworkers will most likely be helpful in explaining things which may be confusing and definitely would rather have you not be completely lost and fail. If you can DO NOT TAKE THIS GUY.

Professor Cirovic isn't as bad as everyone puts him out to be. Yea he just wings most of his lectures, and his exams are all mainly design problems, but this is a DESIGN class! This class is about putting all the concepts you've ever learned as an EE together to design something useful. He does rant about his past, repeat himself often in lecture, and the average on the midterms and final each were around 40 (35, 41, and 44). Advice if you are taking this guy for 409: GO TO CLASS and take notes, study all of the circuits he talks about in class and do some practice problems to understand the circuit operation and its relating equations. Summarize your notes onto your sheet of notes you get for the exam. There wasn't a problem on either midterm or the final that we hadn't discussed in class, sure some were design problems but it wasn't much of a stretch to put the concepts/circuits together we talked about in lecture to complete his design problems. Go to class, study the circuits he lectures about, and you will do far far above the average on the exams.

Soooo... he was late to lecture with classroom filled with students already, then five minutes prior to the end of the class he simply stopped talking and packed up and left without any acknowledgment while everyone still had a pen/pencil on their hand wondering what was going on. Unacceptable!

To quote Cirovic today's lecture, "You have seen this method at least once." Then he scribbled some stuff on the board and said, "I forgot what this is, but this will be on the exam this Friday, so if you have it on your note sheet, there you go."

All I have to say that this guy talked about Gophers twice! And he spent forty minutes about Computer Land and never finished the story wtf? Overall someone has to get him to retire and if you want to succeed in this class...ask your upperclassman and they will probably feel sorry enough for you to hook you up with old exams.

Straight up, this was the worst engineering course that I've ever taken. When he begins discussing a new topic, he doesn't really do anything to frame his explanations, or to give the necessary background information so that you can understand what he's talking about. He stops halfway through lectures to tell you 30 minute stories about his life. He doesn't give you ANY practice exercises, and the problems in the text book are way different from exam problems. I could learn more about circuit design by reading a handful of decent wikipedia articles, than I did by showing up to class and taking notes for an entire quarter. What a waste of time.

This guy loves to talk irrelavant. Thank goodness class is a joke like him. Not much helpful as EE chair either.

Doesn't care about the students.. enuff sed

I don't know why this class turned to 2 units but it seems like a waste. Some classes are helpful and inform you about your possibilities in the future but some seemed like a waste of time. He has good intentions but not all of us want to be spending an hour learning about Da Vinci's ideas instead of working on other classes.
