Dr. Christenson is a hilarious guy. He is down to earth and jokes about the everyday reality of families and relationships. This class is easy if you keep up and don't procrastinate. He doesn't give definate due dates, and gives you a long time to complete his assigned projects. But if you put them off, you'll be stuck with a lot of work at the end of the quarter. I think everyone who's in a family should take this class. It's very interesting.

Dr. Christenson means well, but does not know how to teach. He lectures in circles, making it very difficult to follow his train of thought and to take notes. He often forgets what he talked about last class and starts giving the same lecture again. He writes chicken scratch on the board and does not use notes to follow on an overhead projector. He fails to answer students' questions in class in a direct manner. He has questionable views of women. The tests are multiple choice and are not too hard if you have done the reading. (I've only taken one test so far and got an A.) There is a group project at the end, which I haven't done yet. I would definately recommend taking any other teacher but him for this course if possible.

As an advisor, I really like him. He's lots of fun to talk with, and is a big help in the whole graduation process. I did find his classes different though. Granted, his teaching style was different, but I found it interesting. He gave examples that were not like other teachers - he explained the material through stories and not the concrete examples students are used to. I enjoyed his style; it was a fresh change.

Most of the class got C's on the midterms.....Christeson acted like we just weren't "getting it." I think we weren't "gettting it" because his lectures are vague and hard to follow. Questions aren't always addressed in ways the students really understand. More than one student told me that they were even more confused after asking questions. Students were so confused about term paper they were still asking questions the day before. Christenson waits too long to tell the class when exams will be, and what the format for the exams will be, and when students ask about this, they are accused of being too worried about scheduling their lives.

I think there is Turd in his pocket, because he is stinking up his class rooms. He better retire pretty soon or I will cut my throat. Stay away from this Teacher.

I must admit, Dr. Christenson is an incredibly good counselor. However, his teaching style is extremely hard to follow. He talks you in circles and never really gets to the point. If you want to learn the material you must read the book and since the tests are all off the book, I recommend you do just that.

True, true Christenson does teach in circles, but he really is a nice guy. His teaching style does suck balls, but if youtalk to him out of class, he understands your struggles (in the class) and will allow you to rewrite papers, for example. A bit of a hard grader on tests, but he actually gives you the essay questions, which are the entire tests, the class period before. He is boring and will make jokes which are only funny to him, and he goes on, and on, and on . . . about well shit we really don't give two craps about.
