Chuck is a great guy to take 121 from. He doesn't always explain a project super clear the first time, but he will generally go over it again in class or he will for sure explain it to you on a one on one basis. He is not a pushover but he understands that sometimes stuff takes longer then planned on and is generous with allowing a little extra time. He will often take out pointless parts of projects which everyone can appreciate. Overall, Chuck is a cool, laid back guy and I would DEFINITELY take a class from him again.

I had Chuck for the lecture portion of 231. The material itself is kind of boring, basically you just sit in class and watch slides. The class itself is easy and Chuck is an easy going guy. We had a take home final b/c he knew we had a lot going on with our design classes.

Chuck's a good guy. I had fun in his class. He made me work pretty hard for the A, and it wasnt expected because he was always telling me what else I could do with my projects (always pushing me to work harder). Chuck's class was pretty easy though.

Crotser is an awesome lab instructor. He is willing to help you anytime you need it, and he's very patient. He has an idea for anything, and is very thorough in explaining projects or explaining why he wants you to change something. A very nice man who cares a ton about his class...no complaints.

i had chuck for all my arch classes this quarter and i gotta say i really liked the way he did his classes. the projects were all fun and informative and he was very understanding about workloads and whatnot. if he assigned too much work (which he did sometimes) he would either drop parts of the project or give you additional weeks to finish it. i think he graded very fairly. as this was my first grade that i got over a B. so anyway, the quarter was very enjoyable and i highly recomend this teacher

Chuck was awesome! I was skeptical at first, he seemed kind of boring. But once our lab got going, he became a really informative arch professor. Unlike other design teachers, this guy IS an architect. Sure, you might want to disagree with him; however, he has the practice and experience to know what you need to do as an architect--he just wants you to do well. Honestly, I learned the most about BEING an architect from Chuck. He actually cares about his students and their well-being. Thanks for a great quarter!

chuck is a really nice guy. He's a great artist, which is good for working on your sketching and watercoloring. But his projects weren't terribly exciting, and they were hard to follow through on, because he is so unclear about what he wants. it was frustrating to try and understand his expectations or requirements. I wouldn't take him again.

chuck is a great artist and a nice guy but he lacks as a DESIGN instructor. our projects had very little design development and a large portion of each was dedicated to making a pretty model that included representative materials. he never criticizes your work which can leave you very confused and makes project grades a bit of a crap shoot. i wouldn't recommend him. at one point during our final project, he said, "don't worry about the architecture." need i say more?

Chuck might be nice but this is a cover for his lack of talent and abilities. He is useless in giving direction. Take this class if you are a good’ ol boy and want to just slide by. No design crits and very basic practical knowledge…thumbs down for sure. Favors testosterone driven male students.
