I agree with a lot of the comments below- the content of the course was interesting and I'm glad I got the chance to read the works that were assigned, but Kann's ego is out of control. He's extremely arrogant and knows it, but refuses to change. He shoots people down for the comments they make, then yells at the class for not participating enough. He also doesn't care about the students, and says so repeatedly in class. I've never been so frustrated with tenure as I was with him- he constantly remarks on how he has tenure and how that means he can get away with almost anything. Its really a no-win situation in his class, and the sooner you accept this, the sooner you can focus on the material and try to appreciate the authors and the meaning you can get out of them, regardless of how he shoots that meaning down. | |
