Dr. Noland is a wonderful professor! We learned a lot in lecture, but the tests were pretty easy after studying the powerpoints. Lab was a lot of fun, and you learn a lot about companion animals and veterinary medicine.

If you are taking animal science 112 and need the book, give me a call 9166001419. As far as the class goes, I had a horrible time in this class. Not only did I not fully understand the information in the class, but having two professors is never any fun. They both would tell you different information and then you wouldn't know what was right from wrong. Noland was the worst out of the two because she is so scatter brained and treats the class as a pre-rec even though it isn't supposed to be. Plus, neither of them are very helpful in office hours and even didn't show up or told me they were too busy multiple times even though it was the scheduled time for the class.

I personally liked the way she taught. You could tell she really enjoys teaching and she was really enthusiastic. I\'ll agree that she does rush through lecture, but since it\'s only an hour long class with so much material to be learned, I think it\'s understandable. Having a background in biology is very helpful. I took AP bio in highschool which I think helped me keep up. I took this class with her co-teaching with Dr. Marc, so the flow of subjects between lectures was a bit jumpy. Overall I really loved her as a teacher and I can\'t wait to have more classes with her!

This teacher did not present materials clearly. As a freshman course I felt she should not have assumed we all had the same knowledge base as her. She rushed through materials and did not care to explain concepts or terms. She also, when asked questions, did not answer them clearly and simply ran over students not allowing the questions to be asked

As a senior who has finished all but one GE, this was horrible. Craptacular course load in regards to reading. Unless you\'ve taken Biology before and are pretty familiar with the material then this class will not ease you into learning it. First midterm came at us quick covering 5 chapters with 20+ pages each of terms, processes, material that you have to memorize. Ridiculous load of material for a 40 question test.

The course was team taught by Noland and Humphrey and was very easy. All the power points were posted online and the tests were based entirely off of these power points. There is reading assignments but they\'re essentially optional. I stopped doing them after midterm one and was still very successful in the class. Both Noland and Humphrey are very willing to answer questions and try and make the class more entertaining. However, there was some confusion in regards to exams because an apparent lack of communication between them. Overall the class isn\'t the most exciting because it is a lot of biology, but both Noland and Humphrey really try to help you learn and enjoy the class.

Noland is an amazing person. She is so sweet and eager to help anyone who has questions for her. She seems a tad scatterbrained here and there, but thats simply because she is ALWAYS on the go doing something for some program or enterprise. Overall, Noland is a great instructor to have in your corner, especially if you are considering vet school; a topic Noland has quite a bit of insight on. She made animal science 112 easy and for the most part pain free.

Noland is incredibly knowledgeable about Animal Science and conveys that knowledge well. The class is pretty similar to a general biology class, so it's not too tough. Noland does a great job of explaining everything and will clarify if anyone doesn't understand. She is very busy, so it can be tough to get a hold of her, but all of the power points are up online anyway. She really is a very caring and reasonable instructor. Whenever there was dispute over a question on the test, she would give out free points. Though she would probably be more invested in a more specialized class, taking her for 112 was a great experience as well. Great class that satisfies a bunch of different major requirements or a GE. Take 112 with Noland!

Dr. Noland could always tell when students were confused and was good and explaining things in an easy way to understand. She sometimes seems disorganized, but it's just because she's so busy with everything else going on. I also had her for a voluinteer class at the vet clinic and besides the fact that she sometimes seems busy and stressed, she's a great teacher, very knowledgable and willing to help. You will learn a lot from her.

Noland would be great by herself but she taught this class with Humphrey and they were totally unorganized. I could have done better if I had any clue as to what was more important and what was less important. They spent more time on the things we got tested on less, and less time on the things we got tested on more.

I really disliked Mrs. Noland. She has her favorites and if you were not one of them good luck to you because at grading it wasn't going your way. She tried to develop stories to help you remember material yet it had nothing to do with the topic. She was one of my leat favorite teachers.

BEST TEACHER EVER! Get her as a professor if you can. She is sooooo nice and truely cares about her students. There is always a line at her office hour because everyone knows they can always go to her for questions. Plus she is a great vet. and an extremely knowledgable teacher so she is really good at answering questions. If you are thinking about vet school talk to her because she will give good advice. For 223 class you don't have much homework a bunch of quizes (do well on those, they will add up and really help your grade) and the midterms are tough but fair. If you didn't do as well as you had hoped, GO AND TALK TO HER, she will help you and give you a chance for some good extra credit. I got a B on a midterm and she let me re-answer an essay Q for extra credit that put me up to an A. I learned how muscle works permently that way.

i think she did a really good job. this class just was introduced this fall quarter and things were a little disorganized, but everything worked out. there was absolutely no way to fail this class unless you didn't show up to class at all. everything is done in groups of four which was weird because your grade was based on what your group members got, but it worked out fine. i think she is a wonderful teacher.

This class was easy. I felt like i was in a biology class half the time, but then sometimes there was actual information on the animals themselves. I don't know why, but there was a lot of material covered about leadership and on confrontation. The group work was bad because your grade is based on the entire group and you can only help your group to a certain extent. If you do well on a test, you can still get a bad grade on the test because of your group. Professor Noland is a sweet lady and tries to include everyone in group conversations. She has many guest speakers and it hardly seems that she taught the class. Overall, this class is extremely easy, as long as your group does well on the assignments.

I consider Dr. Noland to be the best professor I've had at Cal Poly so far. She presents complicated material clearly and enthusiastically, making any subject interesting. I looked forward to each of her lectures and the interesting material she would present. I wished that I didn't hae to take notes and that I could just sit back and listen! For her, it's not about us simply memorizing the info, but about us understanding and retaining the info for many years to come. Her quizzes and tests are completely reasonable IF you study. The tests include both a scantron and writing portion, and she grades fairly. Dr. Noland is an animated, intelligent and wonderful person, professor, and veterinarian.

What an awesome professor - Dr. Noland is clear, concise, organized, amazing. She explains everything so simply, and if you don't understand she is more than happy to help out. If you need more help, she will take the time to talk to you at her office hours (if you get there before the 10 other people who are also waiting to see her, and if she hasn't been called out for some veterinary emergency)! She just wants to see her students successful, and that makes you want to try even harder so you don't let her down. She has got to be one of the best, if not THE best, professors I have ever had the privilege of being taught by. I would highly recommend her to anyone who is willing to try hard. Her tests are reasonable, and grading is very fair. She is great!!

Dr. Noland is amazing! She is very knowledgeable and her lectures are fun and exciting. Time seems to go by quickly when you're listening to her speak. She's extremely approachable-you can ask her any anatomy and physiology question and she'll answer it. The class wasn't as difficult as I expected it to be, b/c Dr. Noland makes the tests reasonable. As long as you take the time to study, I think you'll definately get an A. And be sure to do the reading!

Dr.Noland is by far the best teacher I have had here at Poly. This class is very interesting..and I looked forward to going to it. She presents the material very clearly, and her tests are extremely straight forward..You definitely need to know your stuff for the midterms and weekly quizzes, which include fill in, multiple choice, diagrams, and short essays. The lab final is pretty challenging..but the review helps out a lot. Overall great person and teacher, I would definitely recommend taking as many classes from her as you can!

Dr. Noland is my favorite professor. She is very good at explaining the subject and loves to teach. Her tests are a mix of essay, mult choice, T/F, fill in the blank and diagram. I recorded her lectures and rewrote my notes while playing them back. The lab final is hard but the review session helps. Great class. A lot of anatomy - if you already knew some before it will be helpfull, (I didn't). Overall, I would recommend Jaymie Noland to anyone for any class.
