Nikki (or Dr. Day or Professor Day or whatever you want to call her, it doesn't matter) is a great lab instructor. Unlike the professors who teach the 200-series labs, she actually lets us work at our own pace on designs we actually like. There is a lot of personal freedom in her class as long as you aren't rude (or sexist, she doesn't like that...just ask anyone in the other section of 341) and you keep her informed of your progress. She comes across a little spacey, but if you actually talk to her or ask her questions, she knows quite a bit and makes sense. Her assignments were clearer than the assignments given by Vicente et al. in 201/202/203 but could have been better, but she always clarified when we had questions. If we thought it was too much to do, she listened to us and changed the assignment. Friday attendance wasn't required and for the last two weeks of class attendance wasn't required either, as long as we still saw her and made progress on our final presentation. FYI the grade in the class is almost always exactly the same as your grade on your final, so don't forget to put some effort into it. | |

Professor Day is really cool, and understands that you don't have to spend nights and weekends in the lab to learn anything. She just describes the assignment and actually allows some creativity and individuality in designs. If you want to be a typical CRP student and just do exactly what your told each step of the way, and stay up all night trying to finish a project take someone else. The above statements about acting out/irrational are true if you disrespect her and act like a jackass. | |

Dr. Linda Day is the most irrational professor in the CRP Department. Do not question her judgement or reasoning. She is unprofessional when a guest speaker is in the class. She is impatient during group presentations. She can often be curt and inconsiderate to students. Dr. Linda Day attempts to pass herself off as a competent professor and a decent person, but over time her true demeanor will show. If you have to take her, just be kind, and don't question her judgement. | |

Linda is awsome. She doesn't require you to attend class on fridays she always is supportive and willing to listen to your ideas and she is a generous grader. All she asks you to do is put forth your total effort towards the class and show up when you are supposed to. This is was one of the best classes and one the best professors I have taken at Poly. | |

i really disagree with the above review. she never swore at us or was mean, and she never once made us call her doctor. she is very honest and is concerned about every student. her grading can be a bit erradic, but I don't think she gave out more than one C this quarter so its not a big deal. she does come off as rather flighty, but if you ask her questions she knows her stuff. I would recommend her to anyone who wants to have more personal freedom. She really lets you set your own pace and encourages you to design spaces that you would want to live in. | |
