STAT 251 Sophomore Grade Earned: C Required (Support) 12:00 am, Dec 13, 2011 Report Evaluation		Lund was chill! I definaley didn't invest much time in his class so thats why my grade was low. He curves your grade which is nice thats why i got a C. Final was the easiest of the tests for me . Most of the Stats teachers are not that great so i would recommend Lund. Very mellow guy and he's also very approachable I talked to him at the Avenue once. cool guy not a bad professor

STAT 251 Freshman Grade Earned: C Required (Support) 12:00 pm, Dec 6, 2011 Report Evaluation		He is an awesome teacher! He really cares about his students and if you put time into it, he will definitely be there to help. Tests are hard but all of the questions relate to the note sheets or homework. Best stats teacher, and I'm not a fan of stats. He is a really funny guy! Take his class.

Unlike my other classes, I really enjoyed his class. He grades fair and gives note sheets to have formulas and stuff on them.

STAT 350 Senior Grade Earned: C Required (Support) 3:17 am, Jun 10, 2011 Report Evaluation		Lund is a cool guy. He speaks his mind. He once told a student from a later section sitting in an earlier section to "GET THE FUCK OUT" in front of the entire class. Since all his education credentials were from the UCs, his style of teaching is very theoretical. STAT350 is a mandatory support class for EE and not everyone in the class was enthusiastic about this class. Lund assigned homework every lecture, but he collected them on the day of the exam. Pro-tip: Do not take the homework assignments lightly, because they were really really time consuming. Lund also posts the solutions by the end of the week of the lecture, so that can cut down some time. Lund collects them, but grades by effort. There were four exams each weights 15% of the total grade, and a cumulative final that is worth 30%. Pro-tip-2: Exams were tricky. Study well or ask around for past-papers.

STAT 312 Sophomore Grade Earned: C Required (Support) 11:58 am, May 23, 2011 Report Evaluation		first off i admit its my fault that i got a C in this class. It was the the one class i didn't spend any time on during the quarter. i failed the first midterm and got a C on the next. apparently i passed the final cuz i passed the class. so in a nutshell, he gives out lecture notes(really nice), super hard midterms and final. i don't recommend him but he's alright

STAT 312 Sophomore Grade Earned: C Required (Support) 12:11 pm, Apr 8, 2011 Report Evaluation		Dr. Lund is not the professor i would take stats with if i had to retake it. he has some very strong characteristics that are great but it was a pretty tough class. granted this was the class i cared least about last quarter it still shouldn't have been this tough. he gives out lecture notes everyday which is a plus but his tests/exams are ridiculously hard. all in all i would take another professor

STAT 251 Freshman Grade Earned: B Required (Support) 10:07 pm, Mar 13, 2011 Report Evaluation		If you can get past Lund's constant use of the word "folks" the class is not all that bad. He's a pretty laid back professor, but he gives you the handouts every day and if you don't go to class you have to try to copy the information from someone else. He also attempts to engage the class in participation--usually he is unsuccessful and gives up after about 30 seconds of having 35 kids stare blankly at him. He answers questions well and grades fairly, but if this class was any longer than one hour I think I would die.



STAT 251 Freshman Grade Earned: C Required (Support) 6:17 am, Mar 8, 2011 Report Evaluation		Lund is a very good lecturer who presents his material very clearly. he is there to help you as long as you ask. He assigns a decent amount of homework and hands out an endless amount of worksheets. The key to this class is just do the homework because the majority of his test questions come from the homework. tests are reasonable but not impossible

The tests are hard but if you do your homework you will be fine. He also curves your overall final grade in your benefit!

STAT 251 Freshman Grade Earned: B Required (Support) 1:18 pm, Dec 5, 2010 Report Evaluation		Lund is a boss. Honestly, he is extremely funny creating his class to be much more interesting. Just pay attention in class and the homework is optional so just go over it before the test. The class consists of 5 tests. Not very difficult, they are exactly like the homework and the worksheets given in class. Highly Recommend this teacher.

STAT 130 Freshman Grade Earned: B General Ed 9:33 am, Apr 1, 2010 Report Evaluation		Professor Lund was pretty bomb. The class was repetitive because every day we had homework problems, and in class we would do \"thought questions\" and work through parts of the homework that were confusing. There were a lot of tests, and they were pretty long. I liked this because the problems I couldn\'t figure out ended up not impacting my grade very much. He really wants to help his students do the best they can, and he answers questions very clearly. We were all stressed around finals week, and he ended up making our final exam open note AND open book. It was crazy. I feel like a learned a lot from him, and even though I only got a B I would recommend taking his class.

STAT 130 Freshman Grade Earned: B General Ed 12:54 am, Mar 25, 2010 Report Evaluation		He is super funny! He\'s really goofy and surfer boy type, and he wears sandals to class every day. But yeah, he\'s a pretty good teacher, you just have to do the homework. If something doesn\'t make sense, just tell him and he\'ll explain it. The tests are kind of hard, but manageable. I would definitely recommend him, I looked forward to his class everyday.

STAT 130 Freshman Grade Earned: A General Ed 3:23 pm, Mar 22, 2010 Report Evaluation		Ulric is chill. You can tell he knows his stuff (the guy has a PhD in statistics), but he was a good sport teaching a basic stats class. Most of the course is reading-based, but as long as you stay on top of the homework you will pull through, especially if you took stats in high school. As for Professor Lund himself, he is pretty down to earth and is not easily phased, which I liked. Far more than willing to answer questions in class. I definitely recommend him.



STAT 130 Freshman Grade Earned: B General Ed 6:26 pm, Mar 11, 2010 Report Evaluation		Professor Lund is a really nice guy, but he rarely teaches. He assigns a chapter of reading a night and some homework, that isn\'t due, just \"suggested.\" You have a quiz every day based on the reading, its usually two questions, and even if you do the reading, you can still fail the quizzes because theyr\'e very specific. The tests are always curved because our class generally didn\'t do very well on them. He almost never teaches, he\'ll go over a statistic of the day and go over homework questions. If you like self-teaching, take him, if you need things explained to you before you understand them, then I would take somebody else.

STAT 330 Junior Grade Earned: A Required (Support) 3:02 pm, Feb 24, 2009 Report Evaluation		I'm pretty sure this is the first time Lund has taught 330, he was good overall. You have weekly homework, if you go ask him for help on the homework you will be answered with another question or he'll start talking about something seemingly irrelevant that somehow ties into what you asked. His lectures were very organized (you have to print out the lecture notes before every class) and he labels and explains everything clearly (especially if you ask a question). His midterms/final are very challenging and it's almost impossible to finish on time and have everything correct. He's a good professor overall and he really helps you understand SAS.

STAT 251 Freshman Grade Earned: B Required (Support) 11:44 am, Feb 4, 2009 Report Evaluation		Professor Lund is very helpful in office hours. He will reexplain any homework problems and will make new examples until you understand the concept. I would highly suggest doing the homework. Some of the tests had the exact homework questions or just a few numbers changed. Lund's notes are sometimes a little bit unorganized, but it is not that big of a deal. If you work at this class, it should not be too difficult to pass.

STAT 330 5th Year Senior Grade Earned: B Required (Major) 11:15 am, Jan 13, 2009 Report Evaluation		Awesome. Class isn't easy, but if you pay attention to Lund it all makes sense. He is a lot of fun, actually cares, and loves the subject. Couple of tests, they are difficult, but if you don't screw around all quarter you will be prepared for them. Homework is regular and not simple, but it prepares you for the exams. Take Lund, he is awesome.

STAT 251 Freshman Grade Earned: C Required (Support) 11:05 pm, Dec 23, 2008 Report Evaluation		Lund is a great professor. He is really helpful in office hours and tries to make his lectures interesting by using real world examples. The class starts out pretty easy with the first exam but it speeds up and it can become easy to fall behind. DO the homework that he assigns because that is what he bases his exams off of. I had a hard time in the beginning with this class but started going to office hours which really helped. A lot of people did not go to office hours, probably cause they didn't have to, but it's good to go because he'll actually know who you are and that you are tryin in the class. He can be a tough grader but if you go to office hours he explains the step by step process of solving the problem. I got a C because I had never taken STATS before and didn't start going to office hours until I had to, but it got a lot easier with the help. Overall it can be a tough class, but if you do the homework and go to office hours for help the class is passable.



STAT 251 Freshman Grade Earned: B Required (Support) 11:17 pm, Dec 8, 2008 Report Evaluation		Professor Lund is a great teacher for stats. He explains concepts very clearly and thoroughly, and all of his homework is assigned to reinforce the concepts we learn; they're not just busywork. He's really helpful if you have questions, especially during office hours. Homework is optional, but it really does help to do it. I thought his tests were very fair-he only asked questions on material he had covered, and he gave us plenty of practice problems to give us a feel for the tests. Overall, he's an excellent stats teacher, and a genuinely nice guy that wants his students to do well.

STAT 321 Senior Grade Earned: B Required (Support) 9:40 pm, Jun 17, 2008 Report Evaluation		Dr. Lund is a standout from typical math/stats/etc teachers in that he makes an effort to present statistics as an interesting, relevant subject. He grades very fairly and is clear about what will be on tests and quizzes. Homework is not graded but weekly quizzes will make sure that you've done it. "Questions, folks?"

STAT 425 Senior Grade Earned: C Required (Major) 2:53 pm, Mar 15, 2008 Report Evaluation		Lund was a pretty good teacher for this course. This was his frist time doing this class and it never seemed like he got lost or confused. Hes a very smart guy. This class was hard but its supposed to be hard. Lund is very enthusiastic and it was a fun class to be in. Hes a very funny guy and has a neat pattern of speech. MMMK??? haha. Anyway, i would have gotten a B if i didn't bomb the final but expect to spend some time on this course and you'll be fine. have fun! go lund!

He is really focused on formulas, not so much how the "idea" relates to real life. If you want to memorize a bunch of formulas then tis is your guy. But for the rest of us who want to see how to use stats in the real world...choose someone else. His word problems on his tests are hard...nobody does good on that part...good luck

STAT 251 Freshman Grade Earned: C Required (Major) 6:13 pm, Dec 10, 2007 Report Evaluation		Lund is pretty cool- mmmmmmmmmmmkay. <--Try not to concentrate on that!! causes focus problems. I thought I did better in the class than I ended up doing...sucks. But Lund knows what hes talking about and is pretty understanding. We joked with him everyday and he had fun with it. Go to his office hours too...I went to it once and wish I had gone more! Plus it was the day before the final so he thought I was a slacker. Which may have been true. But still, he's chill and has a good sense of humor! Best stats teacher I've heard of so far!

STAT 221 Sophomore Grade Earned: B Required (Support) 10:36 am, Apr 12, 2007 Report Evaluation		Lund was a pretty difficult teacher, but I learned a lot in that class. Although the averages on the tests were low, he always curved it. I know for sure that he curves everyone's grades at the end since the average is probably quite low. I would recommend him to people who really want to focus in class, and who will also do their hw!



STAT 130 Sophomore Grade Earned: C General Ed 5:20 pm, Feb 14, 2007 Report Evaluation		After taking two college calculas classes, and coming out with A's I had to laugh at the fact that I had to take basic Statistics 130, but I though it would be an easy A at least. Not the case at all, believe me, I studied, busted my butt and barely pulled out with a C. I hate to say it, but Lund almost enjoys watching his class fail, he would laugh as he would read our test averages off, which we typically D's. I honestly couldn't had studied any harder, but it seemed like the man was damn determined to give me a C, and no higher. His test are very subjective, followed up by constant quizes that are equally horrible. Do yourself a favor, take someone who will teach the material, and will offer the eay grade for what should be an easy GE!

STAT 130 Freshman Grade Earned: B General Ed 2:47 pm, Jan 23, 2007 Report Evaluation		Dr Lund is a really great guy. He is very approachable and really eager to help you understand. For me, any kind of math is hard and I never took stats in high school so I was often completely lost. But I went to his office hours quite often and it really payed off. He is really helpful and wants you to do well. Also there are short quizzes based on the homework every thursday, they are only worth ten points but they add up! So just do all the hw problems on wednesday night and you should be fine. The first midterm was pretty easy and the second was harder, and the final was pretty hard so you need to study and at least go and see Lund at his office hours. Overall this was a really great class!

STAT 350 Junior Grade Earned: C Required (Support) 3:52 pm, Jul 3, 2006 Report Evaluation		the class sucked. basically all he taught was the defintions, theorems, and examples in the book. all of which were easy and made sense yet the hw he assigned was completely different and way harder. as for the tests, wow, they were horrible. class averages were less than 50%. he's a nice guy and all but can't teach the class. and it's probably partially the material thats he's trying to teach that he has never even heard of. take someone else is possible.

STAT 313 Freshman Grade Earned: A General Ed 9:31 pm, Mar 23, 2006 Report Evaluation		Professor Lund is an excellent instructor. His lectures are full of practical examples that enhance your understanding of the material. He assigns large homework assignments, but the positive aspect is that the homework thoroughly prepares you for the tests. After taking his class, you'll have a very good understanding of multiple-linear regression, experimental design, ANOVA, ANCOVA etc. Overall, I'd definitely recommend him.

STAT 130 Junior Grade Earned: A General Ed 3:38 pm, Feb 21, 2006 Report Evaluation		He's a great teacher to take because he is so enthusiastic about statistics. He will keep you from falling asleep in class because he talks loud! He's approachable and fair. I was terrified of statistics before I took this class due to the rumors of difficulty and dullness but Dr. Lund did a great job of teaching this class.



STAT 330 5th Year Senior Grade Earned: A Required (Major) 8:45 pm, Dec 28, 2005 Report Evaluation		Dr. Lund assigned an NHANES project near the end of the quarter with minimal guidance. I would suggest going to office hours for clarification. Even if you do get help from someone else in the class, you should make every attempt to go to office hours. The final had plots and graphs, which the SAS textbook does not cover. This means practice using the online doc. Missing a lecture would be ill-advised because you would not be able to comprehend the notes he posts online. Plus, he covers extra material. Other than that, open book, notes and computer. What more could you ask for?

STAT 221 Freshman Grade Earned: C Elective 2:05 pm, Dec 14, 2005 Report Evaluation		He is very enthusiastic about the class which makes it less difficult to make it to class everday. He seems nice, but he cares more about stats than students so he will screw you over when he comes down to it. Other than stats he seems like a nice person. I am a business major and took the class not knowing it was for ag majors which means it only counts as an elective so it was hard to stay focused. Overall, a decent teacher. Just make sure you read and do the assignments when he assigns themand you will do fine.

He's enthusiastic (which makes it difficult to get bored), he makes it difficult to fall asleep in class, he's approachable and helpful, he's an expert at statistics so he knows the material very well, and he's very fair. The class was hard and I did not want to take it, but I managed to make it through the quarter! There's regular homework assignments that are due every Tuesday, two tests, and a final. The tests covered the material covered in class, so no surprises there, and the homework was relatively easy. I highly recommend him for this class.

STAT 130 Freshman Grade Earned: N/A General Ed 4:23 pm, Jun 7, 2005 Report Evaluation		Well, this guy is so into the bell curve that he will manipulate grades to fit into it! He favors lazy athletes and dumb girls so if you're one of these then he is the teacher for you! He likes looking at the honies so dress to impress! His grader sucks and will mark right answers wrong and he does nothing about it when you complain! He does not give A's so forget getting an A and you're lucky if you get a B because like I said, he likes the bell curve, i.e. mostly C's. He grades on a curve so the idiots who flunk and get D's can get their C's but there is no benefit to those who get a C or higher because he structures the grades around that damn bell curve! He is a good teacher, but be prepared to turbo speed over 24 chapters this quarter! Overall, the class is okay, but his grading SUCKS!



STAT 312 Graduate Student Grade Earned: A Required (Support) 1:56 am, Apr 4, 2005 Report Evaluation		Prof. Lund is an easygoing guy and pretty animated during lecture, but the class was just too long. The material could have been covered much more rapidly, but it's ok as long as you bring the crosswords to keep busy. Homework was cake and the tests were fair. He is helpful in office hours, and I think people got exactly the grades they put the effort in to get. Overall a good guy to take the class from.

STAT 312 Junior Grade Earned: C Required (Support) 11:51 am, Mar 23, 2005 Report Evaluation		No matter who you take for stats, it's going to be boring as hell. But Lund is a good teacher. He keeps your attention more than you think, and is very enthusiastic about the topic. Beware of lots of MINITAB interpretations on the tests. I would recommend him.

STAT 330 Junior Grade Earned: C Elective 8:02 pm, Mar 10, 2005 Report Evaluation		Lund is awesome! I didn't do great because this is a difficult course, but Lund was the best teacher I've had at Cal Poly. He is enthusiatic, which is hard for this course, and he's really funny. If you get the opportunity to take him, don't waste it! There's weekly HW, and he'll tell you not to put it off til the last minute-HE MEANS IT. Otherwise you'll be up til 5am like computer science students...Tests aren't too bad if you know your stuff.

STAT 313 Sophomore Grade Earned: C Required (Support) 3:14 pm, Feb 21, 2005 Report Evaluation		Prof Lund is a pretty cool guy but he gives you NO breaks when it comes to the class. The book had NO solutions and he would only give solutions to the HW around a week after it was due. I would have to wait around to photocopy around 10 pages of handwritten solutions for each week of HW. In my opinion the material would not be as hard to learn if he would give you more resources to aid in learning. Studying for tests could only consist of past HW problems (around 20 for each test) because thats all you could get solutions to, to check your work. It seemed to me that students got good grades based on curves not comprehension which is obsurd.

STAT 251 Freshman Grade Earned: B General Ed 11:27 am, Feb 14, 2005 Report Evaluation		Lund is the man. My buddies and i all took him for 251, then he didnt offer for 252 so we took daly, mortlock, and walker. non of us think the other three compare. stats is a boring ass subject but lund does his best to make things interesting. office hours help and he gives a good amount of partial credit and is a more than reasonable grader.

STAT 330 Sophomore Grade Earned: D Elective 10:45 am, Feb 7, 2005 Report Evaluation		Lund is an excellent teacher, hands down. explains the course material well, teaches it well, explains it in his office hours well... but he just doesn't take any crap, which shows a great teacher. take him if you can, but don't expect to swing by, you'll have to put in a lot of work. one of the best teachers in the stat department.



STAT 251 Freshman Grade Earned: B Required (Support) 11:36 pm, Jan 3, 2005 Report Evaluation		UL was rad. He made the class more than enjoyable. The midterms were hard, but if you study and know your shizzle you should do pretty good. I was very disappointed to learn that he wasn't teaching 252. But I feel well prepared and hopefully that will work out. In conclusion... if I had to take 251, I would take it with Lund.

STAT 251 Freshman Grade Earned: B Required (Support) 8:17 am, Dec 20, 2004 Report Evaluation		Proffesor Lund was an amazing teacher. He always presented the course material logically and made it easy to follow. He was fun and always kept it interesting, even when the material was really boring. He assigned a fair amount of homework, not too much. He didnt collect the homework though, but he assigned problems that would later help on quizzes and tests so it was in your best interest to do the homework. He had weekly quizzes, which were super easy if you did the homework. Sometimes they were the exact same problem! And he drops your lowest quiz grade too. And unlike most math teachers, his tests weren't much harder than the quizzes. There were longer, more in depth questions, but he tested us on what we had learned in class and on the homework... not some crazy hard stuff we'd never seen. He was a great teacher, I would recommend him to anyone. He is a really nice guy, he grades fairly (even easy at times!) and really helps you out when you need him to.

STAT 330 Senior Grade Earned: N/A Required (Support) 3:11 pm, Dec 9, 2004 Report Evaluation		Even though I did not do too well in this class (my own fault), I would recommend Dr. Lund to anyone who wants to learn stats like it should be taught. He is funny and entertaining in class, and is very approachable when it comes to answering questions and fixing problems. Word to the wise though, just because he is easy going as a person does NOT mean you will have fun when it comes to working for a grade in his class. His tests are not for the faint of heart and require a lot of studying. He grades very tough on his assignments, which come about every class day, and expects perfection on his tests. That said, do NOT take this class if you expect to get an easy grade; take this class if you want to learn something besides the regular bullshit you get from everyone else

STAT 251 Freshman Grade Earned: N/A General Ed 11:21 pm, Dec 6, 2004 Report Evaluation		Professor Lund is very enthusiastic and tries to make the lecture as interesting as he can. He doesn't grade the homework and doesn't even look at it which makes you really want to slack off. The real big issue about him is that he makes the information so much more complicated then it has to be. He goes into detail about things that aren't important instead of just looking at the general picture.

Gotta make sure you keep that shit up to date otherwise you'll fail the midterms. Hes a cool guy and he presents the material well. Im pissed hes not teachin 252 tho, he wouldnt do it no matter how much convincing we did. "ok folks...."

STAT 321 Freshman Grade Earned: B Required (Support) 11:57 pm, Jun 21, 2004 Report Evaluation		Lund was a real cool guy...he always tries to make lectures interesting which is awesome, especially when u have a morning class w/ him...homework isn't horrible...he doenst assign much and its all pretty easy, except for the fact that he has his grader grade every single problem...i never got full credit on the hw, and its 20% of ur grade...tests weren't too bad either...i would recommend Lund to anyone and i wish he was teaching 322 so i could take him again



STAT 130 Freshman Grade Earned: B General Ed 11:44 am, Mar 24, 2004 Report Evaluation		Mr. Lund is a nice guy, but that doesn't always mean he's the best teacher. You can tell he's really smart, and is enthusiastic about statistics. I didn't care for the way the class was run, however. We would get 3 homework assignments for the week, and they were all due on Monday. He actually graded the homework. Then we also had 2 mini projects which were graded on grammar (?) and were supposed to write two pages about some abstract seeming topics. We had two tests and a culmulative final. The tests were pretty hard, but not impossible. I still can't believe I pulled off a B! If I can pass this class, anyone can. I had no clue about anything by the end of the class, yet somehow I managed to get a B. The downside is that I didn't learn anything about statistics! But at least I got through this class.

STAT 130 Junior Grade Earned: B Elective 10:03 am, Mar 24, 2004 Report Evaluation		Lund is a pretty cool guy. He gives weekly homework assignments that are pretty easy. There are two mid-terms, a final, and two projects which can be done in a matter of hours. The class seems to be geared towards the students that can't really keep up, so if you like a fast pace class, don't take this one. Overall a good class.

STAT 513 Graduate Student Grade Earned: B Required (Major) 9:44 am, Mar 24, 2004 Report Evaluation		In the beginning I really didn't think Dr. Lund did a good job as a professor. He wasn't really interested in the students learning and just wanted to get through the required material, which was a lot. But after the first test Dr. Lund became and excellent professor. He slowed down a bit and even went over the second test. He started taking questions, and in my opinion actually started teaching instead of just lecturing. The two hours was long, but Dr. Lund did a good job of keeping everyone awake. The homework was a huge mess in the beginning. The grader was doing an inappropriate job, but Dr. Lund worked it out made the grader improve. I found that going to office hours really helped me. Dr. Lund did a good job of explaining the material so that I would understand it, so if you are having problems don't be afraid to go to office hours! I would recommend this professor -- even though he didn't do a very good job to begin with he really improved and I would take a statistics class from him again.

STAT 313 Senior Grade Earned: N/A Required (Major) 1:58 pm, Mar 23, 2004 Report Evaluation		These lectures should be forbidden to last 2 whole hours. Its a dry subject to begin with, all in all, Dr. Lund manages to keep it as entertaining as possible. His tests are graded REALLY fairly in terms of partial credit, but the grader for his homework in Winter 2004 screwed everybody. Honestly, I don't know that you could do any better than Lund for a 2hour lecture. He really does work at keeping the class entertained, and he's really helpful in office hours if you make the effort to go.

STAT 130 Senior Grade Earned: B Required (Support) 9:15 pm, Mar 19, 2004 Report Evaluation		all these people who gave professor lund a poor rating are just a bunch of babies. they can't handle a little work. Grow up your in college now not elementry school. as long as you do your homework and study a little for the tests you will do fine. he is very enthusiastic and up beat. He seems to enjoy teaching stats, which made it easier for me to attend a boring class. his lectures are very hepful for the homework and tests. The final is a little tough and took about an hour and thirty minutes to two hours. don't be scared to take him he is not a bad teacher, i have definatly had worse.

STAT 312 Senior Grade Earned: C Required (Support) 5:36 pm, Jan 24, 2004 Report Evaluation		Professor Lund teaches this powerful yet boring subject very poorly. Weekly quizes and 2 midterms seems reasonable yet keeps you much busier than you'd expect. Expecting an easy A or B is foolish. Though those grades are attainable, expect to work very very hard for them. As for staying awake....i suggest the Mustang Daily crossword puzzle, also counting the times he says "folks" proves to be quite entertaining. On top of that you will be there the full 2 hours without a break every class meeting minus the first class...where he gives the only break of the quarter. As for his teaching style, he reads off of overheads filing in blanks as he goes. the problem is that they seldom relate to the book. He also never makes it clear whether or not to know the book material (which he never discusses in class though we are given homework on) or the lecture material for the quizes...he kinda pics and chooses when to do one or the other. Enjoy!



STAT 312 Senior Grade Earned: C Required (Support) 10:33 pm, Dec 18, 2003 Report Evaluation		straight up teacher. knows his stats. go to class do or at least look over hw problems (not assigned but helps on weekly quizes). midterms weren't that hard but the final was definately tough. good teacher kept two hours of lecture as entertaining as it could be.

STAT 330 Sophomore Grade Earned: B Elective 1:20 pm, Nov 21, 2003 Report Evaluation		Dr. Lund is a great teacher. He is really entertaining, so the class goes by quickly and is fun to attend. The class itself is basically a computer programming class with no math (or statistics, for that matter) until the 9th week, when you actually start using some statistics. It gets steadily tougher throughout the quarter, but never overwhelming, and Dr. Lund is very approachable. He usually assigns anywhere between 2 and 4 homeworks per week, all collected the next monday. This can be a lot if you leave it all until Sunday afternoon like I do, but still do-able. I would definitely take another class from Dr. Lund if at all possible.

STAT 430 Senior Grade Earned: A Required (Major) 3:40 pm, Jul 18, 2003 Report Evaluation		I gotta give this guy an A. This guy is not only smart but also an excellent teacher. Lectures are clear, no BullShXt. He knows a lot about statistic. He got a sense of humor too. Easy on grading is the bonus.

STAT 430 Sophomore Grade Earned: A Required (Major) 11:05 pm, Jun 18, 2003 Report Evaluation		Lund is a very excellent professor to learn from. His lectures are organized well and he provides notes for downloading to save you a lot of writing. He is very knowledgeable about the subject and in utilizing statistical software packages so that we could do our homework. Not to mention, he does have his own sense of humor to keep lectures interesting. His exams are very tough and you got to be a hard core statistician to get an A. Nevertheless, if you want to really learn stats, he is the man. He will teach you just about everything you wanted to know about stats, but he is a tough as nails enforcer when it comes to exams.

STAT 130 Sophomore Grade Earned: C General Ed 11:16 pm, Apr 10, 2003 Report Evaluation		I don't know what these other people were thinking! Prof. Lund is an asshole, hands down. It was one of the worst classes I've taken at Poly. He's rude, arrogant and comes across like he's too good to be here at Cal Poly because we're all a "bunch of cheaters." The tests are pretty tough and the final took the full 3 hours. If you can avoid him, do it.

STAT 251 Junior Grade Earned: B Required (Major) 7:08 am, Apr 2, 2003 Report Evaluation		Dr. Lund presents his lecture in a clear, easy to follow format. He's funny too! Review your notes for the weekly quizzes to freshen up on formulas. Be specific (detailed), so you don't lose easy points. Exams progressively get harder, so study! Don't underestimate them and definitely study for the first one (even though it's the easiest) to boost your grade. Do the homework; the quiz/exam ?'s are almost exact. Overall, he's the best math teacher I've ever had.



STAT 251 Junior Grade Earned: C Required (Support) 3:46 pm, Mar 28, 2003 Report Evaluation		Ulric Lund was an amazing Prof. He is able to present the material very clearly and he really makes an effort to see if you know the material. The first mid term is easy, the second a little harder and the final is pretty long and hard. There are quizes each week that really help your grade. Do the homework even though he doesn't collect it. It will really help you out. Highly recommend him.

He prepares his notes ahead of time and it's obvious he has a routine going for him except for the ocaasional joke here and there to wake up the class from time to time. I recommend that if you take this class, stay on top of things and at least try the homework. He prepares you enough in class, and the book is a good reference if you need more help. However, Lund needs to liven the place up and relate the material to his students. It was not a very pleasuable experience and I had trouble keeping up. Regardless, he is a good teacher with a difficult task.

STAT 252 Freshman Grade Earned: B Required (Major) 11:37 pm, Mar 5, 2003 Report Evaluation		LUND is the GREATEST teacher EVER!!! He is SOOO funny and nice and such a good teacher. I started off the quarter with another teacher (Groves...HORRIBLE!) and quickly crashed into Lunds class. THANK GOD! When I compared how the two taught, it was like light and day. Groves went over the material, didn't really teach you anything, and was very unfriendly and boring. Lund is the complete oposite! He actually teaches you the material, is always open to questions, is sooo funny, sooo nice, and he's hot too :)

STAT 312 Sophomore Grade Earned: C Required (Support) 9:57 pm, Feb 24, 2003 Report Evaluation		Class took place in the statistics studio, using the computers to display notes from a lightboard and using statistics software to reinforce concepts. The material starts easy but greatly increases. Doing the homework is optional but I recommend looking at the problems. Sometimes he put you asleep, sometimes you were fixed on the monitors. Few students asked questions during lecture. Open-book quizzes came every Friday and were easy if you understood what he said in lecture, replete with partial credit. I wouldn't mind taking Dr. Lund again. Oh wait, I don't have to take any more stats. Yippee!

STAT 312 Junior Grade Earned: D Required (Support) 9:21 pm, Feb 17, 2003 Report Evaluation		The quizes aren't too bad. Since homework wasn't turned in however, nobody in class ever did it. I did the homework while studying for the exam and felt I knew the material well. Then I would take the exam and it was much more difficult than the homework assigned. The homework and lecture notes were straightforward. The midterms were not; they were abstract.

There are two midterms and a final. there are quizzes every friday which are easy if you do the homework. He does not collect homework and he posts his class notes on the web. It can't get any easier than that folks! He's also pretty cute :)

STAT 313 Junior Grade Earned: B Required (Support) 9:29 pm, Nov 2, 2002 Report Evaluation		Dr. Lund is the man, hands down. This guy is young and brilliant. The course goes pretty rapidly, but his lectures are clear-cut. I also must add that he's definitely helpful in office hours. So do your part, and you should do fine in the class. Who knew statistics could be fun?
