GRC 315 Senior Grade Earned: B Required (Major) 11:56 pm, Jun 17, 2003 Report Evaluation |
Professor Horelick is the perfect instructor for this class. He has had tons of real world experience in the printing industry and worked on many press crews. His stories in class let you know how its really going to be when you have to interact with an actual real life press crew. His knowledge of the subject is vast and he presents it all clearly. This is the only class so far where I was actually looking forward to going to lecture. His tests are fair if you take decent notes and the lab is not too difficult and by the end if you went to every lab meeting, you will be able to turn on the Speedmaster, load that paper, hang those plates, and run a basic job. Entering the class I had no idea how to run the press.. in the end, I had confidence that I could do it. Look forward to this class!!

GRC 315 Sophomore Grade Earned: A Required (Major) 8:22 pm, Apr 7, 2003 Report Evaluation |
Professor Horelick is very knowledgable about printing processes and real world printing experiences. There wasn't a book to buy, which was good and bad. Good to not have to pay $ for another book, bad if you like to miss class and do best reading from a book. Attending lectures are key. Lab is actually really interesting and very hands on, especially if you've never run a printing press before. 5 unit class, so if you get an A, it can rock your GPA and it's totally possible to do it. Lab is weighted decently heavy and buffers lecture grade if you didn't do so hot on the quizzes. There were 4 quizzes and no midterm (yay!) and a final that wasn't totally cumulative.

GRC 315 Junior Grade Earned: B Required (Major) 10:49 am, Aug 15, 2002 Report Evaluation |
I had horelick for 315 and 211. He is a fair teacher. his lectures are a little dry and boring, but i had him for lab in 211 and he was very laidback and cool about it. 315 was tough, it was a lot of info to learn, so make sure to study hard for tests. He asks the most random and picky questions. If you go into office hours he will help you out a lot and explain things more clearly.
