Dr. Amedee was a tough professor, probably the hardest one I've had my whole time here. His abilty to recognize his students' difficulties in his class leaves something to be desired. If you ask a question, he gives you a stone cold stare that makes you feel like you asked an idiotic question. And his tests! I wrote down every word he said in lecture, but when Midterm #1 came around, I was confused at the amount of material there was on the test I had never seen before! The stuff you THINK you should know and THINK he would test you on, he doesn't. Instead of testing about the soil profiles, he's more concerned with the "Electromagnetic charge on a vermiculite clay particle in the swampy marshes of Florida." Beasts of tests and homework he doesn't give you the equations to do until a day before they are due made his class almost impossible to pass. Don't take him, take Dr. Moody or someone else. You are asking for the worst class of your life if you take him. | |

Dr. Amedee presented the material for SS 121 in a very clear and concise manner. The class was very difficult due to the large extent of material that had to be absorbed, but Dr. Amedee was always available for help during office hours for additional help. Constant class attendance, and always asking questions in order to understand the material, is a must for passing the course. | |

THIS GUY CAN'T EVEN SPEAK ENGLISH. HIS ACCENT IS AWFUL, AND WHEN YOU ASK HIM TO CLARIFY WHAT HE SAYS, HE GETS UP IN YOUR FACE AND MAKES YOU FEEL LIKE AN IDOT WHILE HE IS SCREAMING AT YOU WHAT HE SAID. I WOULDN'T EVEN RECOMMEND THIS GUY TO MY WORST ENEMY. MY TUTOR COULDN'T EVEN DO THE MATH HE ASSIGNED(AND HE WAS A SOILS SENIOR) YOU ARE ASKING FOR A DEATH WISH WHEN YOU SIGN UP FOR HIS CLASS. | |

Dr. Amedee is TOUGH, TOUGH, TOUGH! Don't take him if you're looking for an easy grade. His tests are hard and lectures are sometimes hard to follow. But Dr. Amedee is a very smart professor and is more than willing to help students who are struggling in his classes. I would take Dr. Amedee again without reservations but I would make sure I didn't have to much else going on at the same time because his classes are very challenging. Good luck! | |

OK OK OK... This guy is not a great teacher to start off. I had him for lab and he grades so freakin' hard. He wil make you feel stupid if you don't know what he knows/ the book. You'll be quizzed every lab and I NEVER saw anything above a B on the quizzes. The HW is no fun either YOU MST SHOW ALL WORK. You ask him to give you a point for the mistake his TA made and he won't.. what a jerk. Don't even try to work with/around him he'll beat you and get you every time. One last note: Don't make eye contact with him, just lok at his mouth or his dried hands. If he sees you look away otherwise he'll GET YAH... no joke i always wore ahat to avoid his eyes... | |

My dislike for this teacher hs nothing to do with the difficulty of the class- I got an A- it has to do with the fact that I was the only woman in this lab section and apparantly he dislikes women. Even though I was getting one of the highest grades in the class, every day he would insult me, tell me I was stupid or incompetent. I always just smiled sweetly and laughed to myself when I got an A, despite his view concernign my intelligence. Don't take him if you are a woman!!!!!!! | |
