Loved Belinda! She was very enthusiastic during discussion of the Psychology Class, started by asking if we had any questions from the huge lecture class that she could answer, and then goes over extra materials that are in the book. Was very helpful overall to the Psychology class. There are three "midterms" for the class, which aren't too difficult but they aren't easy. Just make sure to read the book, and study a lot before the each midterm. (The midterms aren't accumulative, which was nice.) | |

She seems nice enough at first but the class gets worse. Very unclear about expectations and grades VERY subjectively. She asks redundant questions all the time, and says she'll let you out early but never does. The required book is 900 pages of jargon which is no help. I loved this class! I took it as one of my psych minor electives and I loved it! I was worried at first because it is a class about aging and the topic of aging can be very depressing, but Professor Morrill did an amazing job at making every class light and cheery, even when we were discussing depressing topics. There were three non-cummulative midterms, 50 questions each. You are allowed to have a notecard with notes during the midterms. The midterms covered the lectures, reading in the textbook, and the videos from class. We watched a lot of videos, but each of them had a purpose and really added to the class. There are also two journals due. Prof. Morrill will give a topic weekly that you write a page and half to two pages on and then turn in halfway through the quarter and at the end of the quarter. She loves embellishments and will give extra credit for it. For a class that was at 8AM and was on a relatively depressing subject, I would say Prof. Morrill did an awesome job at making the class fun and informative at the same time. She is extremely sweet and funny and is easily one of the best psych professors I've had so far. She used to work as a gerontologist so she has a lot of stories. Take this class if you can!! | |

if you have belinda for a discussion section teacher, be prepared to have an easy time... seriously. If you hear people have a tough time in psy 102, they probably didn't have belinda as a discussion teacher. She gives like 15% extra credit on your test scores along with another 5% for doing an extra research study (easy). thats 20% assured in your grade along with her open note quizzes that account for 20% of your grade and another 5% for pretty easy hw assignments. The midterms and finals for psy 102 were, tbh easy. Study and you will be fine. If you don't believe me, I was ditched the class more times than I actually went to class and still ended up with a solid A. | |

Dr. Morrill is a really chill person. Her discussions were all aimed at prepping us for our exams. Her quizzes are easy enough. The lectures she gave for the lecture part of the class were hilarious. She dressed up and everything. And due to some special circumstances I had to miss the final and she was really cool about it and helped me out with scheduling it the next quarter. I doubt many professors would have been so nice about it. | |

The good: Quirky, intelligent, passionate psychology professor who loves learning and teaching. She really made sure you understood the content because general psychology can be quite overwhelming at times. Minimal homework which if you did it, you'd be prepared for her rare quizzes. She also gives extra credit which can be applied to your midterm grade as an extra 5 points!<br><br> The Bad: She grades homework very meticulously so be sure to do a thorough job on the minimal amount of homework she gives.<br><br> Overall: One of my favorite professors at Cal Poly. I highly recommend taking Psychology 202 recitation with her! | |

Don't know what the person below was talking about ... they are either on drugs or just never came to class. Dr. Morrill gave well organized lectures and had very clear expectations. There was nothing on the tests that was not covered during lecture or lab. In fact, she always had review sessions before the tests that let us know exactly what would be on the test and she let us use the notes from the review session on the test. Quantitative methods is not the most fun class to take, but I think that Dr. Morrill made the class as interesting as it can be. | |

She's a good prof. Organized, passionate about her subject, and cares about students. But she takes her teaching seriously and she won't tolerate people who screw around in her class, so if you like to be late to class or work on other stuff in the class, take somebody else. | |

I've had Morrill twice; for developmental and quantitative research. Developmental psych was an easy class; almost a joke of a class that felt like a waste of my time. The work was brainless and the material lacked any sort of challenge. But it was an enjoyable class environment because of the discussions and videos presented. But Quantitative was horrible. The content wasn't that bad, but Morrill was absolutely awful. She taught to the class as if we we're ten year olds who had never heard of a mean or average. The class consisted of her attempting to explain the software in the lab and applying stat questions to real life scenarios. The actual content of the course was barely addressed until she gave us exams. The tests were very hard and did not reflect the content she taught in class. As a person, she came off as very rude, close-minded, and assuming. She made me reconsider my major and I will never take a class with her again. | |

Psych 202 was a joke, although I never managed to get A's on the midterms. Some of the professors would read straight off the outlines (which were not detailed). Because of that, I stopped going to lecture, even though they were sometimes interesting. I got B's by going through all the course objectives online for a couples hours before the test. My grades seemed consistent regardless of my attendance. I did go to Morril's class section on friday, and she is an interesting person to say the least. She's nice and the class is really easy, but I swear I felt like she was talking to 5th graders sometimes. Her eye kind of freaks me out and she is very opinionated. The only thing that actually bothered me about her was on the first in class assignment. I had to stay a couple minutes late to finish it and she said "oh don't worry about it I just want to see that you did most of it". When I got the paper back though, I saw that she had graded it meticulously. Point being, she seems really relaxed about everything, but you have to complete everything, and it has to be right if you want full credit. (seems obvious but you'll see what I mean when you take her). | |

I think this professor is pretty good at conveying the information. It\'s basic stats, so there\'s not much you can do to dress it up. She tries to make it fun and not too dry. She presents the basic lecture, then follows it up with hands-on lab work. Definitely doable. If you do what she asks, you\'ll get a pretty good grade and understand the material pretty well. | |

Yes, the class is easy. Yes you get to use notes on every test, yes she is weird. She is stuck in the stone age. There is not need to lecture us on how to turn on a computer and open a file. We can do that on our phones. Also, if you expect a teacher to understand there may be extraneous circumstances at times, and be aware that most competent professors use the internet, don\'t take her. She won\'t post your grades, she wont except anything over email, and she is unnecessarily loud. I taught myself more about SPSS on my own that she did in class. A manual could teach you more, and would probably be more in touch with reality. | |

Morrill is amazing! I took her, and this was the only class all Spring that I actually looked forward going to. Basically we had 3 tests, all non-cumulative and was able to use an 8&1/2\" X 11\" cheat sheet for tests. Also, we had 2 journals due throughout the quarter which basically came out to 20% for each journal/test. She presents basically what will be on the test through lecture and the book is mainly for reinforcement. If you\'re familiar with development then you can easily get away with reading summaries. But if you have trouble making it to class don\'t take her. She doesn\'t use blackboard and having someone take notes for you definitely doesn\'t have the same effect as actually being there in the case of this class. | |

If you are afraid of math take this professor for Quantitative Research Methods! There are also of tests and some homework that aren\'t each worth a ton of your grade. If you mess up on one you\'ll be fine. Also, she lets you use notes on the tests! It\'s a lot of (easy) work because of the number of tests! | |

If you are uptight or full of yourself, as the last writer seemed to be, you might have a hard time in Dr. Morrill\'s class. She\'s fun and likes to take the stress off, realizing that the ten week term can be a pressure cooker for most of us. Dr. Morrill uses a lot of different teaching tools to help students do their best ... like concept checks, in class exercises, a single note page for exams. The lectures, labs, exams, and homework are reasonable and definitely doable. | |

This class is phenominal. Totally painless, and so exciting to go to. Took it during the Summer (5 week course) and I actually never minded going......in fact I was excited to go from 8am-12pm. Morrill is well informed about the subject, good at making the curriculum relevant, and a generally good person. I enjoyed her enthusiasm, and there was never a dull moment, but there were some things that I found particularly annoying about her teaching style. I'll try as hard as I can to not be biased because of conflicts between her personality and my own, but she did several things that I would imagine all students in the class found irritating. She treats the students in the class as though they were kindergartners. When the class is being a little noisy, she will incessantly flip the lights on and off, kind of like we were treated in 4th grade. No one is allowed to speak without raising their hand under ANY circumstance. Need a pencil? Don't ask your neighbor unless you'd like to be exiled to another corner of the room for being "chatty." In addition, she has a tendency to address the class in a somewhat patronizing and childish tone. That being said, however, I found that she was very helpful in a one-on-one situation, and I would have no hesitations taking her for another course. | |

Dr. Morill is great, definately a bit off-kilter, but that's exactly what makes this class exciting. She's what makes the class workable, the subject is very memorization-heavy and not really all that exciting. Do the reading and study a bit for a passing grade, take great notes, read, and study a lot and get an A. Trust me, it's hard to get excited about psychology. Morril can be a bit crazy, in fact, one of the first things she told us in class was about how crazy she tends to be. The only homework she assigns is journals, which can be annoying, but by no means hard. She teaches what I find to be a dry subject, but does so as energetically and fun as possible. She has 3 midterms and a final, which you don't have to take. I would strongly advise taking her if you have the chance. | |

Dr. Morrill is definitely one of the most interesting people I have ever met. TAKE HER CLASS. She is wacky and always energetic. She really knows a lot about her subject. I really enjoyed this class and it was definitely my favorite of the quarter. The material would have been really boring if anyone else had presented it. I would highly recommend Psy 202 to anyone who needs a general ed or elective course. The concepts are not difficult, and the auditorium-style lecture seems to inspire the many different lecturers to be a little more entertaining in their presentation of information. The discussion section is easy, and it is helpful because your discussion leader (Dr Morrill was great) will give you hints about the test. There are 3 midterms and the questions are all directly out of the lectures (40%) and learning objectives from the syllabus (60%). If you show up to the lectures and make sure you know the learning objectives, you will ace all 3 midterms without a problem. You have to write a short paper and maybe do a few assignments for your discussion section and that is it. | |

There is a fair amount of work for the class, but I have taken her for Psy 201 as well and I never felt overwhelmed or stressed from the class exectations. It's not hard to get an A in the class. This in general I found to be a great class! She's very enthusiastic about the material and definitely sparks interest in the material. She works off overheads and lets you copy them down while she talks. The problem with that is her overheads are more of personal notes for herself than they are proper notes for a student to take. Hopefully she'll mend them in the future. Also, when she starts talking about statistics... if you've taken statistics in the past, then would be a good time to stop listening. She attaches strange qualitative terms onto various positions on a normal distribution, and if you understand the numbers themselves rather than declare nice whole numbers as breakoff points between normal and low or high then you'll be much better off. She's not the best at answering questions and definitely has an agenda to teach you certain things. The class was supposed to be taught by Ryujin but she showed up instead! I've heard nothing but good things about him, and sort of wish I would have gotten what power told me I'd get! After saying all I've said, if you do have a chance to take Morrill, I would definitely recommend taking her. 3 midterms - the final is the last midterm (it took me 25 min to finish!) - read the chapters and DEFINITELY do the online quizzes for the book (you'll find questions almost directly off there) - 1 big paper at the end about your personality.... It's supposed to be 8-10 pages but mine was 12 and I could've written a lot more so don't let the length scare you. Enjoy the class! The material is really valuable and directly applicable to your own lives. I'm a better person for taking the class I'm sure. | |

Talk about a woman with a lot of personality teaching personality! I have heard from other psy. majors that this class can be boring if taken with the wrong prof. This was not the case with Dr. Morrill. She is lively and entertaining. She was always amiable in her office hours and even helped me with psy. stuff that wasn't related to her class. Her tests can be hard, so make sure to study. She shows some interesting videos and attempts to relate her own life to many of the theories in personality. Watch out for the final paper though, I thought she would grade easy and so I didn't do my best and ended up getting a C on that paper. Make sure you are clear on its directions and that you do it well. I still got an A in the class so obviously it didn't hurt me too much. I definatly recommend her. | |

She's a pretty loud lady, but I think she got the information across. Obviously she's not for everyone, but if you get her just know that what she says is what she wants out of the class. Attend her recitations even though she doesn't take role, because she'll review key points in the chapters. Also, DO HER RECITATION ASSIGNMENTS. They brought me up from a low C to a low B. | |

Dr. Morrill was an excellent teacher. She many different teaching styles that kept us awake even if it was 7am in the morning. I always looked forward to this psych of aging class. Her tests are pretty straight forward just look over the bold face words in the text and memorize your notes and you will do fine. In addition you get a 3 by 5 card to write anything down you want to use for the test which is pretty cool. There is one big paper for this class that isn't too bad and a journal due at each test. The journals are not hard and she talks about it in class. You can do up to 10 points extra credit including being a tutor and I would recommend doing that. Anyways a great teacher and I would definetly take her again for another psych class!!! | |

I had Morrill for PSY202 recitation, and she was awesome! She has a nice personality and seems to really enjoy what she does. The assignments she gives are very easy and do not take over 30 minutes to do. She offers extra credit for tutoring, which I recommend taking advantage of...it would have given me an even A instead of the A-. Highly recommended. | |

She was a great person to have for recitation. She gave out enough extra credit to raise my probably solid C to a B+. It's embarassing to not get an A in this class, but considering I stopped going to the lectures and read sketchy outlines of the book right before the midterm, I'm not upset. I got a C+ or B- on each midterm and did the homeworks, but that extra credit was great! Take her, she's nice and interesting too. | |

I loved Morrill. She tells you what is important that you need to study for on the test, and I did exactly that and pulled A's on all three midterms, and I am a horrible MC test taker. She gives 6 homework assignments that count for 15% of the grade, and makes the paper worh 10% Each midterm is worth 25%. Oh by the way, she gave out so much extra credit I didn't know what to do with it all. It was insane. You will dominate this class if you take Morrill. | |

Belinda is a crazy woman. She's a little off the edge, but very enthusiastic and ultimately your best bet for a recitation instructor. she's amazingly kind and will give you excellent preparation for the exams. She'll help you get the little things that are skipped in the lectures and barely mentioned in the book. She'll get assignments back quickly, give you numerous opporunities for extra points (which are a huge help) and smooth over the material efficiently so you understand it better. overall a great instructor and most definately worth taking. | |

Morrill is a really nice lady. I had her for recitation and she really put in an effort to help students get an edge. She goes through the tests you take in the main lecture hall and decides which questions she thinks were unfair or that she didn't like and throws them out giving you bonus points (she goes to all the lectures, so she knows what the tests are going to be comprised of). The first day of class she said we never had to go to recitation just make sure you talk to someone to see if an assigment was given. she gives out 6 assignments over the course of the 10 classes, and they are all cake. they take at most 25 minutes (most take 5-10) and if you do them all you can easily get a 42/40 on all of them (she gives extra credit if you do a "good" job) and that's as much as another test so if you score average on the three tests you take in the lecture hall you can boost your grade significantly with her assignment points. Great teacher, very friendly in office hours (which i used offen becuase i hardly made it to class), and covers what she KNOWS is important to study for the tests. | |

She is a great professor! This class is a cake walk. You are on your own for the lecture test, but thet are really simple. Don't even bother reading the book the lecture notes online are easy to follow and give you everthing you need to know. As for rec. just go to class. She has you do journals which are pretty simple a half page or so and she lets you earn a point back that you might have missed on the exam by writting a paragraph on the topic of the missed question. Just put in a half ass effort and you should pass the class. Oh and she loves it when you share personal things in your journals she will give you extra points. | |

Dr. Morrill was a very nice teacher who really cared about her students. I found the lectures hard to stay awake for at times, but the class was at 8:00 am. For this class you take three tests, do an easy journal, and write a big paper on your personality that is pretty easy to do as well. The most interesting part was taking all these personality inventories and learning about yourself. I would definitely recommend Dr. Morrill, she is very nice and does her best to make it interesting. | |

Dr. Morrill is a great teacher. She likes to use overheads, so make sure your eyes are capable of seeing the screen. She also uses a variety of other teaching methods. There are lots of notes. She is really easy going, and her goal is to teach, not to make it hard to do well in the class. If you want to learn and get a good grade, take Dr. Morrill. I thought Dr. Morrill was an excellent professor. She's really interested in the subject and presents the material really well. She tells you everything that you need to know for the tests and lets you bring a little cheat sheet thing. Even though she simplifies the book, the reading really helps with the tests and clarifying some of the material. I really liked her and I'm really glad that I took this course. | |

Dr. Morrill was incredible. I just took Personality from her and was so impressed with her enthusiasm and desire to teach. She made Personality the most interesting class I have ever taken...I never missed a class. She related a great deal of the information to her own life and experiences, which by the way was fascinating, she is an amazing woman. The material covered in the class covered all the different perspectives of Personality, and Belinda taught each of the perspectives in a very intersting light and related them to our lives right now. Her tests are not hard AT ALL, but only because she gives the best study guides in the world. If you go to class and follow the study guide there is no reason why you shouldn't get an A in the class. She doesn't try to trick you or throw questions on the tests that weren't specifically stated on the study guide. The only other assignments for the class were a Journal that she had us use to record our own personal feelings on some of the issues presented and there was no right or wrong answer, just easy points. There was one paper to write for the class, but it was pretty much an extended journal entry, just writting about ourselves and analyzing our own personality, again, easy points. Dr. Morrill is one of my all time favorite teachers. She is fun, sincere, and incredibly intelligent. She does everything to make sure that all of her students succeed. If you take this class with her, you will be in for a treat!! | |
