Yang's classes aren't terribly interesting. They are easy, but boring. He underestimates student's abilities, treats them like 4th graders, and always repeats himself. However, you can get an A in the class without ever going.

He is definately not the hardest teacher. No homework, easy notes, everything given to you like a kid. Midterm and Final. Thats it. I loved this class. He does, however, care if you show up. I think that's 10%. NP unless it's at 8 am. Highly recomend. Easy A and you learn some interesting info that you don't need to hold on to. It also gets your GE and USCP out of the way.

Yang doesn't seem like he knows what he's talking about. He keeps on repeating himself, and he says some things that don't make any sense. Also, what the heck is "diaspora?" He doesn't give you any motivation to study for his class. He is really boring, mainly because you don't know what the heck he's talking about.

What a moron!!! He likes to keep on repeating himself. "You don't have to take detail notes," as he always reminds his students from time to time. Man, I got so sick of hearing that. He treats students like 1st graders. If you want an easy A and get your GE's out of the way with no sweating, definitely take him. Otherwise, don't waste your time! By the way, if you don't show up for the presentation, it's 5% of your grade. Wow!!! Oh no!!!

Talk about a cakewalk. Like the others have commented, Yang's class is almost amazingly easy. Anything he'll test you on, he repeats at least two or three times. That makes the tests pretty easy. He's got a paper, but you can crank it out in two to three hours with little effort. Pretty much it's an easy A, and your USCP out of the way.

It is true that Doctor Yang does talk very slow and repeat himself. He is easy and but its not really easy to get an A, but if you pay attention in class it should be no problem. Its funny when he says trail of tears. So if you take the class listen for that. Overall its fun to listen to the way he speaks and if you listen during his lectures the class should be a breeze.

I am a current student and have read the other evaluations. Dr. Yang is a stong instuctor of information. His lectures a filled with interesting and informitive information . . . if you are willing to make the effort to learn. If you just want a grade, it's easy enough. I found him to be interested in the subject matter and interested in the students.

This is the easiest class at Poly. Who cares if this guy's boring or difficult to understand. Take it, show up for a few classes, and get an easy A. His test questions come directly from the notes.
