PSC 101 Freshman Grade Earned: A Required (Major) 4:51 pm, Dec 20, 2012 Report Evaluation		Dr. Matt is the absolute best teacher I've had!! It's obvious he knows his material and cares about his students. He makes the material easy to understand and gives full credit on homework as long as it's complete. He was always available during office hours and even extended his office hours before the 2 midterms and final. Dr. Matt was a really funny guy and a very fair person. I enjoyed going to class and felt comfortable coming to him with any concerns I had about my grade or information I was unclear on. The class itself wasn't that difficult, but when I did find myself having a difficult time understanding something he took the time to clear it up for me. I wish he taught other classes I am required to take because I'd take him again in a heartbeat! TAKE DR. MATT! HE'S SERIOUSLY THE BEST!

PHYS 123 5th Year Senior Grade Earned: C Required (Support) 1:30 pm, Dec 13, 2012 Report Evaluation		Great professor! Funny and makes you want to learn the material. The quizzes are not bad and neither are the test. For the final study all the new material and the old questions from the previous midterms cause they are re-dues for the final. Don't worry about the turn in questions or lab reports cause if you do bad, i.e. 6 out of 10, and go ask what is wrong and fix it you will get a 9 out of 10. Lab is chill if you have him, he just takes the first hour to lecture and you will kinda of tune out if you have the early lab. OOOOO, for lab I seriously suggest doing the lab report then and there cause you will usually finish the lab with about and hour to spare.

PHYS 123 Senior Grade Earned: B General Ed 7:36 am, Dec 13, 2012 Report Evaluation		Take this professor!!! He's awesome! He presents the material in a way so it's easy for anyone to understand. And he's so funny! Definitely keeps you awake and involved in class. He gives you focus problems for all of the tests so there's no surprises. There are quizzes every friday, but if you email him asking what to focus on then he'll respond by emailing the whole class. Labs are pretty easy. He genuinely wants you to do well in his class, so sometimes he'll give you a low grade and write "see me" on your paper just so you have to go talk to him about it to see what you did wrong and why, and then he'll tell you what you need to fix then give you an A on the assignment. There's a set curve for all of his tests. Take Dr. Matt if you have the chance! Definitely one of the best professors I've had so far at Cal Poly.

PSC 101 Sophomore Grade Earned: B Required (Major) 1:05 am, Dec 1, 2012 Report Evaluation		Aside from the class material being very elementary in content (I learned two small concepts the whole class), I thought we was a very OK professor. The class itself doesn't prepare you for the tests, because all you're doing is answering questions about how you FEEL about the experiments. If there were practice problems that were given, and examples of what he expects from the narratives online, this class would have been much better. The material is stuff I learned in elementary school, 8th grade, high school physics, and common sense, yet when it came to the tests he would take many small points off for random things that had nothing to do with understanding the material.

PHYS 122 Sophomore Grade Earned: A Required (Support) 2:28 pm, Mar 15, 2012 Report Evaluation		Absolutely the best professor I have had at Cal Poly!! His lectures are always engaging with lots of demos and he always thoroughly explains all material. He sets clear expectations for midterms and gives you focus problems so you are fully prepared. I had an awful 121 experience, and was expecting the same in 122, but Dr. Matt made me enjoy and really learn the material. EXCELLENT PROFESSOR!! If you have the chance TAKE HIM!!



PHYS 132 Freshman Grade Earned: A Required (Major) 6:04 pm, Jan 9, 2011 Report Evaluation		Dr. Matt was the absolute greatest teacher that I could have asked for last quarter. He presented Physics in an easy-to-understand manner and was always quick to correct any discrepancies in what students believed and the truth. The course material, which I had already done in high school, wasn't terribly challenging, but I found myself much more akin to the way that Dr. Matt taught it. However, I'd say the greatest thing about this man was his quick wit and sharp sense of humor. The way that he presented himself was with great poise, yet he allowed students to feel comfortable at the same time. His aura demands attention, but any seriousness is equally and oppositely balanced with his ability to have fun and teach in an entertaining manner. Dr. Matt is the kind of man that I'd want to have for EVERY class here at Poly.

PHYS 132 Freshman Grade Earned: B Required (Support) 11:06 am, Jun 20, 2008 Report Evaluation		Hands Down.. This is the best professor I have encountered at Cal Poly. Not only is he energetic and excited about physics but he presents it in the clearest manner possible. I did not do much studying or homework for this class simply because I learned and understood most of the material by just being in the classroom. His teaching ability is amazing! I would take him any chance I get. Great Teacher!

PHYS 132 Freshman Grade Earned: B Required (Support) 11:20 pm, Jun 19, 2008 Report Evaluation		Dr. Matt was great. He was very energetic and made the material easy to follow. He does require work to be done thought. So you need to be on top of that. There was workbooks do every week or so, but graded for completeness. But there were 4 turn in questions that followed the same format of the examples in the book. Some were easy, but if they didn't explain enough then you could get marked down. Overall, I would definitely suggest Moelter for 132, his tests are alright, just look over the examples on his website. He tests on theory and only on some of the actual math, so that works out to be easier than all math. He is good, but you need to make sure you do the work.

PHYS 132 Sophomore Grade Earned: B Required (Support) 7:10 pm, Apr 2, 2008 Report Evaluation		Dr.Matt is the best prof I've had at Poly so far. He's very good at explaining the material and does a lot of demos in class to show you what's going on. There's not a whole lot of notes and the HW is not bad either. There are 2 midterms, weekly quizzes, WB problems to turn in for every chapter, 4 turn in problems that are super easy if you just go over examples in class, and there are book problems that are not collected. It may sound like a lot, but he grades VERY fair. take this prof!

PHYS 132 Freshman Grade Earned: B Required (Support) 11:14 pm, Mar 30, 2008 Report Evaluation		moelter is a really good professor. i had him for both lab and lecture--take him for both if you can because what he covers in lab helps on quizzes. others said it already, but he's completely conceptual. don't bother doing any hw from the book cuz it doesn't help. the workbook hw he collects is the same style as his tests and quizzes. also, this class was WAY easier than i thought it would be. i had sharpe for 141 last quarter and got a better grade with moelter, while studying about 1/3 as much as i did for sharpe. also, dr matt is extremely approachable and wants to see you do well in the class. whatever the situation may be, he's willing to work with you. plus, during finals week, he had office hours from 9-5 one day, which is pretty fuckin amazing. he's a cool guy so i'd say take him for any 1st year physics class if you can.

Physics was never my forte but somehow, he made it very easy to understand. Quizzes every week, two midterms and one final. He makes us do the workbook problems and some turn-in problems. Take him if you can.

PHYS 132 Sophomore Grade Earned: C Required (Support) 8:55 am, Mar 28, 2008 Report Evaluation		Great prof, great lecturer. I'm not the brightest person in Physics but I never felt hopeless in the class. He's not out there to rip you apart. He's very conceptual, everything that he goes over in class WILL somehow creep into the tests and/or quizzes so pay attention. Plus, his grading standards are GREAT. Take him if you can.

PHYS 132 Freshman Grade Earned: A Required (Support) 4:48 pm, Mar 25, 2008 Report Evaluation		Liked him! Definitely kept us entertained for the entire time. He spent a lot of the time deriving equations instead of doing example problems. Most of his texts were exactly like old exams so definitely look over the posted exams before test days. The suggested homework wasn't really a help. Most of his test problems comes from the workbook problems. Tests were reasonably easy so don't over think them. Nice guy during office hours. I would take him again.

PHYS 133 Sophomore Grade Earned: B Required (Support) 11:56 pm, Dec 21, 2007 Report Evaluation		Moelter is a great professor. I wish I could have had him for 141 and 132. He makes the material much easier to understand, and keeps your attention in class. He only assigns 4 homework problems the entire quarter which are really easy to do. The only thing that is collected regularly are the workbook problems, but those are graded on a complete/incomplete basis. Quizzes every Friday that are super easy. You never have to study for the quizzes, just pay attention in class and its all basic conceptual questions. Definitely take him!

PHYS 133 Sophomore Grade Earned: C Required (Support) 8:16 pm, Dec 11, 2007 Report Evaluation		The three comments below basically sum it all up. Dr. Matt is an awesome and energetic professor. His sense of humor is great. DO HIS PRACTICE tests. They're nearly identical to his midterms. I thought the common final was a little difficult. Take Dr. Matt if you want to actually stay awake and learn in this class.

PHYS 133 Sophomore Grade Earned: N/A Required (Support) 11:14 pm, Dec 6, 2007 Report Evaluation		Moelter is a great professor. He is very interesting and entertaining in class. He dumbs down the material a lot so its very easy to understand. Plus, NO MASTERING PHYSICS! The only homework that was due was the workbook problems for each chapter we covered, which were only graded for credit no credit, and then 4 problems that we had to actually work out. Only thing is you had to work them out like in the book explaining it and all, but a great class overall. TAKE MOELTER!



PHYS 133 Sophomore Grade Earned: B Required (Major) 3:10 am, Dec 3, 2007 Report Evaluation		This comment is this long because I'm adamant about his awesomeness. If you are choosing teachers, I highly recommend you read this comment. After reading other comments about Dr. Matt, I'm shocked. I expected only good responses about him. He's my favorite science teacher I've ever had. I took 133 lecture and lab with him. His course is pretty simple- 2 midterms- Your better midterm carries more weight for your final grade. Fair and relevent tests. Also, the tests are on a set curve. Weekly quiz- Taking quizzes on Friday hungover is no fun. But at least these quizzes are incredibly easy if you just go to class and pay a half cup of attention! Homework- He "assigns" homework assignments from the text book, but never collects them. Every week and a half or so he collects physics workbook questions (easy and conceptual problems). And 4 times in the quarter he wants a detailed solution to a book problem. He's funny and incredibly smart. He's great at explaining things. He's incredibly lenient with your late assignments (there is no absolute due date for any assignment). He allows you to turn your test back in if you think you deserve more points. I came in 10 minutes late on a Friday, so I missed almost all of the quiz. Only finishing half of it, I regretfully turned it in. At the end of class, Dr. Matt handed me back my quiz and told me to finish it. Dr. Matt is a straight up g when it comes to teaching, as far as I'm concerned. Balanced workload, great teaching, fair testing. Take his class and learn Physics painlessly!

The quizzes are really easy since he lets you correct them with your teammates before handing them in. His enthusiasm keeps you awake. Would definitely take him again.

PHYS 123 Junior Grade Earned: A Required (Support) 4:34 am, Oct 2, 2006 Report Evaluation		This guy is a genius. You will rarely find a professor as interesting and exciting as him. I wish I had gone to more of his classes, but the ones I went to were excellent. If you have the chance to take him, you won't regret it.

PHYS 133 Junior Grade Earned: C Required (Support) 2:20 pm, Sep 6, 2006 Report Evaluation		Dr. Moelter is amazing. I had him during summer quarter for 8 weeks and the class was still not that bad. He is full of energy and genuinely cares about his students. He is willing to answer all questions very thoroughly and is VERY helpful during office hours. He has a great personality and is a little quirky but that is always refreshing when you're working with such dry material. We had two midterms and a final. If you do all the homework thoroughly, you should do generally well on the midterms. We also had weekly quizzes that tested on mainly conceptual ideas covered in lecture. I also had him during lab and he was still AMAZING. Overall, Dr. Moelter is a professor you do not want to pass up. Don't let my grade fool you, I was very lazy and have bad habits that I need to work on. Thank you Dr. Moelter for making my summer school tolerable!

PHYS 202 Junior Grade Earned: A Required (Major) 9:47 am, Jun 23, 2006 Report Evaluation		You do your spreadsheets and Maple sheets hand them in, he grades them, then hands them back so you can redo them. He wants you to do well. The tests are open everything and you cna redo them as well. This class is really not bad at all. Enjoy it. You don't even have to go if you don't want to.

PHYS 133 Sophomore Grade Earned: B Required (Support) 8:49 am, Jun 7, 2006 Report Evaluation		This guy is one of the nicest and most reasonable teachers you will ever meet. The tests and the quizzes are fair. I don't like that so much emphasis was on the turn-in problems (15%) because there were only four of them and I screwed up the first two so it seriously screwed my grade. I'm always interested in the lectures, but the way he presents them and therefore my ability to take notes is severely limited. I pretty much can't study from the notes at all because it seems like there is nothing there. Luckily, I learn from the book pretty well and did fine.



PHYS 133 Sophomore Grade Earned: D Required (Support) 2:14 am, Apr 4, 2006 Report Evaluation		He was a funny and active guy in class, I always thought his demeanor reminded me of a carnie. But he sorta rushed through things and just brushed the surface of the material. Not too many in depth, test style examples in class so you had to do the hardcore work basically on your own. He kept me interested throughout the quarter though. Good teacher, especially if you learn from the book as it is. If you expect to learn everything from the prof (like I did) I would maybe try someone else.

He really knows how to explain EM concepts and also make the class really entertaining. His tests are straightforward, (the quizes are a bitch), and the homework problems we had to turn in were really easy. We also had to do workbook problems but they were easy as well. If you are afraid of taking EM because you heard of how hard it is, take Dr. Matt and you will have a good experience.

PHYS 133 Junior Grade Earned: C General Ed 1:24 am, Mar 21, 2006 Report Evaluation		Dr. Matt is the best physics teacher you will ever have at poly. Lectures are fun and interesting, homework is not due, no mastering physics. He really knows his stuff and does a fantastic job teaching it to you. Only reason I ended up with a C is because i screwed around before the 2nd midterm and was not at all prepared for it. He is an awesome teacher. Seriously if he's teaching this quarter, take him.

PHYS 133 Sophomore Grade Earned: C Required (Support) 8:22 pm, Jan 9, 2006 Report Evaluation		Moelter is a great teacher, he presents the material very clearly and his tests are very straight forward, he tests on individual concepts and doesn't throw in any trick questions. All test questions are pulled directly from the reccomended homework and workbook problems which makes studing very simple. This guy has a crazy amount of energy(From his morning Cherios as you'll learn), even durring the 8AM labs he was jumping all over the place. He understands most students are in the class as a support class and just wants you to walk away with a grasp of the concepts. I highly reccomend Moelter.

PHYS 131 Freshman Grade Earned: B Required (Support) 4:34 pm, Apr 18, 2005 Report Evaluation		I really did NOT like this teacher. Despite what everyone else has said, I had a really hard time in his class, and so did everyone else I knew. I had a great high school physics teacher, and I have already learned most of this stuff, but this guy just made me more confused. I always got great scores on mastering physics, but his test questions were ridiculous. One of them didn't even make sense after I heard the answer. Well, to sum up, physics is my favorite class- I'm an aero major- but this guy made it grueling and boring. Don't take him, find someone else

PHYS 133 Sophomore Grade Earned: C Required (Support) 3:29 pm, Mar 3, 2005 Report Evaluation		The BEST teacher I have had at Cal Poly so far. Not only were his lectures really entertaining (which keeps you awake at 9 in the morning), but his tests were sooo easy. The final was EXACTLY the same as the practice final. Most of the problems even had the same numbers. Moelter also realized that as engineers, none of us REALLY care about physics, we just have to take the class. I would definitely recommend Moelter to everyone, 133 is a hard class and I credit my passing grade to him, he is one of the few truly excellent teachers at Cal Poly.



PHYS 133 Sophomore Grade Earned: A Required (Support) 10:45 am, Dec 14, 2004 Report Evaluation		This guy is pretty AWESOME. TAKE HIM IF YOU CAN! He keeps you entertained during class, gives old exams as practice exams that are very similiar to the actual exam, he does use mastering physics, the online hw, which does not teach you anything and is very time consuming. Quizzes every friday, hw due once a week online, two tests and a final. for the tests he allows you to have a piece of paper to write down equations which helps A Lot, especially if you do the practice exam because you know what to put down. Moelter is Very very good. Get this guy!

PSC 101 Sophomore Grade Earned: B Required (Support) 12:51 pm, Aug 5, 2004 Report Evaluation		matt moelter is one cool cat. we all know that PSC 101 is a friggin' joke, but he presented it in an entertaining way, and made the class (somewhat) enjoyable. i'd be stoked to take his physics classes. he gives two homework problems a week and goes over them, and gives the students the opportunity to ask questions, say what they think, etc. he gives two midterms and two practicals, all of which are straightforward, and pretty bearable. he grades fairly, and if you answer the question, he'll give you at least some points for it -- he goes by quality of answers rather than qunatity, 'cause i know all of my answers were like, two sentences long but i still got full credit as long as i answered it. anyways. he's a good teacher.

PHYS 133 Freshman Grade Earned: N/A Required (Support) 12:02 am, Mar 3, 2004 Report Evaluation		GET THIS TEACHER!!! 2 homework problems and 1 quiz every week. I went to every lecture and hardly studied outside of class. His intensity level is perfect, and has the best sense of humor. While laughing throughout the entire class, you also seem to learn the entire lesson perfectly. just write as much information you could on your free equation sheet he lets you bring to classes for tests. the test are fairly hard, but as long as you have the information and example questions he did in class on the sheet you will be fine. One of the best teahcers at poly.

PHYS 101 Sophomore Grade Earned: B General Ed 10:59 am, Feb 12, 2004 Report Evaluation		He is a great teacher who focuses a lot on how you learn best and learning by doing. He is very open and easy to talk to and answers any questions. There is quite a bit of homework and you're expected to keep a journal of how the class is going, but it is easy to complete everything quickly and it helps. He also grades everything somewhat difficultly, and his tests are not easy, but I still think he is a great teacher and I plan to take him again!

PHYS 211 Junior Grade Earned: B Required (Major) 2:07 pm, Feb 5, 2004 Report Evaluation		Probably the best teacher I've ever had. I believe he could teach quantum physics to a kindergardener. However if you miss class !DO NOT! go into his office hours and ask him what he covered. I learned that lesson the hard way.

PSC 101 Freshman Grade Earned: A Required (Support) 4:55 pm, Jan 6, 2004 Report Evaluation		Dr. Matt is an awesome guy. Work load is light, one worksheet due every time you meet, if that. The material is pretty simple, mostly stuff learned in high school physics, no text book. He doesn't really lecture much, you just spend the majority of the class time working out of the lab manual in groups. Mid-term and final are both open notes and the majority of the problems are straight from the homework. One practical at the end of the quarter, but you had to have not showed up to a single class to not do well. One group poster project, but not very time consuming- he gives plenty of time in class to do the majority of it. Take this class if you need to fulfill your Physical Science and LaB requirement! It is filled with cute ands friendly liberal studies chicks- if you are a guy it is very possible that you will be the only guy in the whole class- good odds!



PSC 101 Freshman Grade Earned: A Required (Major) 1:26 pm, Jan 6, 2004 Report Evaluation		Moelter "Dr. Matt" is a really cool guy and I was psyched about the class, but the further into it that we got, the more bored I became. All the PSC 101 classes have the exact same material, which is very basic. For every class, we thought about things on our own, as a group, and as a class...over and over and over again. It became really repetative. The "labs" were a joke, since there were no calculations at all. If you want a really easy A, this class is for you becuase it was all open note and the exam questions were almost all ones we had seen before. If you are like me and don't want to feel like you are still in high school and take uninteresting classes that make you less intelligent by going, then don't take this class. I got an A...almost too easily because I didn't study AT ALL for the final.

PHYS 133 Sophomore Grade Earned: C Required (Support) 6:14 pm, Aug 8, 2003 Report Evaluation		Moelter was an OK teacher. He wasn't the best, but he wasn't terrible. His lectures were definitely entertaining and I always enjoyed going to class. He could usually explain concepts in more detail when asked to. I think Phys 133 is very tough because of how much theory was in it. I worked extremely hard, but I just couldn't do well enough on his tests, which were quite difficult. He does curve if it's needed, and the final wasn't too bad.

PHYS 133 Sophomore Grade Earned: C Required (Support) 7:25 pm, Jun 30, 2003 Report Evaluation		This was the first 'C' I recieved at Cal Poly, and it wasn't because of my Physics knowledge, but rather because of the other classes I was taking this quarter. After the third week of class, I realized that I simply didn't have time to study or do the homework, so I ended up getting a C+. When I talked to him at the end about retaking the class, I was surprised at how supportive he was. Moelter's lectures were very interesting, and he seems like a really great guy, I'm just sad that I wasn't able to make the most of this class, hopefully you will be able to take advantage of it. Overall, I think Moelter is a really good teacher.

Not everyone loves physics. He seemed to pick the hardest problems for the tests and the quizes were difficult. Avoid him.

PHYS 211 Sophomore Grade Earned: B Required (Support) 10:23 pm, May 6, 2003 Report Evaluation		Moelter is great, I had him for 132, 133, and 211. I wish I'd had him for 131. You can ignore any reviews that say he's boring or too hard, or doesn't help you out. He's easy to understand, laid back, and very helpful in office hours. You can easily tell he enjoys what he does - a big plus in a professor. Do whatever you can to take his class, it's well worth it. It's especially good for engineers who don't really care about the specifics of physics - just the concepts - because he simplifies a lot of the hard math and explains the important stuff (i.e. what is actually going on) really well.

PHYS 133 Senior Grade Earned: A Required (Support) 5:56 pm, Apr 3, 2003 Report Evaluation		Helter Skelter Moelter. That's his suggestion on how to pronounce his name. That also lets you know you are in for a unique quarter. If he wasn't teaching Physics at Cal Poly, he'd likely be touring the stand-up comedy circuit. This guy makes physics fun, as corny as that sounds. His explanations of topics are straightforward and memorable. There was not a day in that class that I did not laugh. He obviously has a passion for Physics and for teaching, and his students benefit greatly from it. His weekly quizzes are short and fair (and often easy, if you pay attention in class). NOTE: He does not often collect homework, and when he does, it's only 2 problems. But do the rest of it anyway! If you do ALL the homework and understand it, you'll ace the exams. I'm only sorry I discovered this guy during my last Physics class; I wish I had taken him for PHYS-131 and -132. Don't miss the chance to take Moelter!



PHYS 121 Senior Grade Earned: B Required (Support) 10:46 pm, Jan 14, 2003 Report Evaluation		Looking for someone that WANTS you to do well in Physics? Dr. Moelter is your man. Physics is not a course in memorization and it requires a lot of work..(I put more time into this lower division course then any of my upper division courses). I hate physics with a passion and this man made it completely tolerable. He was always "on"........never missed his energy pills. He loves his work and it shows. If you want to do well, let him know this by paying attention, talking to him during office hours and SINCERELY making an effort. He recognizes this in the end.....even if you fail miserably. If you genuinely try and he knows it, he'll help you out.

PHYS 121 Sophomore Grade Earned: A Required (Support) 7:54 pm, Sep 24, 2002 Report Evaluation		Dr. Moelter was one of the best professors that I have had. He is really easy to listen to and he is really good at explaining things. He kept the class interesting and was always willing to help you. His tests were very fair and he prepares you well. He is also a very laidback, funny guy. I highly recommend him.

PHYS 202 Junior Grade Earned: A Required (Major) 1:01 pm, Aug 2, 2002 Report Evaluation		Moelter is FANTASTIC. I had him for 133 and 206. Consider his overall rating by students (3.33/4.00 when I added this). He is very interesting, enthusiastic and funny. And he accepts late work!!

PHYS 133 Freshman Grade Earned: A Required (Support) 3:34 pm, Jun 24, 2002 Report Evaluation		Homework and quizes once a week. Two midterms and the final. Very good teacher, explains things very well. Pay attention to examples he does in class; they're almost always on the test. Studying for the tests was really easy, he made it pretty clear what was going to be covered so you knew what to study. Also get the old tests from the library. They were very close to the actual tests and a good way to fill up your equation sheet.



PHYS 132 Junior Grade Earned: A Required (Support) 1:55 pm, Apr 5, 2002 Report Evaluation		An excellent teacher. He really likes the material and that enthusiasm helps students who have a hard time in Physics.

PHYS 133 Sophomore Grade Earned: A Required (Support) 2:19 pm, Feb 14, 2002 Report Evaluation		dude, this guy is so kick back, he is so easy going with the homework, if you ever cant turn it when it is due, he doesnt care and then when you do turn it in even if it is like five weeks late he doesnt mark off for it being late. also, i hate physics, but i enjoyed this class cause this guy is just plain cool, take him if you can and you should be able to pass even if you dont try very hard in the class.

PHYS 133 Sophomore Grade Earned: B Required (Major) 3:57 pm, Feb 6, 2002 Report Evaluation		Dr. Moelter is by far the best professor I have ever had at Poly. He is so enthusiastic about the material he presents that I think we (the students) become more interested. He made us laugh at least one a lecture. Go to office hour, he is very helpful and patient. Ask him to do the glowing pickle experiment too.

PHYS 133 Sophomore Grade Earned: N/A Required (Support) 7:00 pm, Nov 4, 2001 Report Evaluation		Matthew Moelter rules!!! its pronounced melter. Take this guy if you can. He keeps the class interesting and applies what we learn to everyday situations. He does cool things in class like making a pickle light up or rotating a 2x4 with electrostatic forces. "I dont give alot of hw cuz thats what youre math classes are for" a quote from him. He doesnt give alot of hw but he collects it. His quizzes and tests are somewhat challenging but its a tough class anyway so its not going to get any easier by taking another prof. He takes some crazy material and puts it in a language that we can all understand and his office hours are really helpful. He will go out of his way to help you out if you need it. I definately recommend him.

PHYS 131 Freshman Grade Earned: N/A Required (Major) 8:42 pm, Aug 1, 2001 Report Evaluation		Good teacher, but he talks too much. I took his studio class. Goes really slowly. Says the same thing over and over and over. He gets boring sometimes. If your in studio you can talk to your neighbor quietly and usually he doesn't notice. Grades strictly on how you do it. Make sure your diagrams have everything labled. OK teacher, I'd rather take another though. He doesn't have interesting ways of teaching.

PHYS 131 Freshman Grade Earned: B Required (Major) 8:42 pm, Aug 1, 2001 Report Evaluation		What a loser. ****. Then requires us to find the friction coefficient and the velocity to your **. (making sure you label your coordinate axis) I recommend not taking his course if you plan on learning the material. If not don't take him anyways because he is disgusting. SAVE YOURSELF FROM OUR MISERY!!!



PHYS 133 Freshman Grade Earned: B Required (Major) 8:42 pm, Aug 1, 2001 Report Evaluation		Moelter is a good teacher because you can tell he knows and enjoys what he is talking about. He does demos in class such as making a pickle glow and other interesting things. I would suggest doing the homework and at least looking at all the sample problems in the text. He takes some of the problems for his tests straight out of the book. Overall, I enjoyed his class and I think he's a pretty good teacher.

PHYS 132 Junior Grade Earned: B Required (Support) 7:44 pm, Mar 28, 2001 Report Evaluation		Moelter is a great, motivated teacher. I took his studio class and although I disagree with the class's structure, he teaches the material very well. He's very excited about it all and brings in demos almost every day to class. If you know the material it gets a bit boring, but he really tries to get everyone's attention. Homework is collected every Friday. Quizes are given at the beginning of lab (no big deal if you read the material ahead of time) and the lab will unfortunately fill up almost the whole period every time.

PHYS 132 Freshman Grade Earned: B Required (Support) 12:04 pm, Mar 28, 2001 Report Evaluation		He's pretty funny for about the first week, but shortly after that you'll find yourself turning around looking at the clock getting pissed when you realize that the clock just ain't moving. He'll still keep talking minutes after class is over.

PHYS 131 Sophomore Grade Earned: B Required (Support) 12:44 pm, Feb 22, 2000 Report Evaluation		Moelter talks A LOT in class and his notes are usually pretty poor. Do the homework and read the text because most of the test questions come from the book. He's not too helpful on questions you may have for him but a pretty easy grader.
