mr. lewis is a good professor. i saw no bias in his grading style, though i think he has his days like every other human being. the quizzes were pulled from a test bank and they covered the material in the book, but really didn't feel 50% of it related very much to the class. but i never read anything and still pulled off a B+ in the class. he drops the lowest quiz score. he's actually a pretty dynamic teacher and makes public speaking as comfortable as possible. the class is small and you get to know the people in your class pretty well before you start speaking in front of them. just do the speeches and assignments and you'l do fine. he's a good professor.

Mr.Lewis is a good teacher if he likes you. He chooses students early on to favor. He is not consistant and not fair with his grading. If you are not a very outgoing person I would recomend him to you beause he gives the shy uncertain people breaks, which is good if your like that, if not get another teacher and do not waist your time. He will not be fair. Oh, and he is the only speech teacher I've heard of that makes you read out of a book and take quizes from the book (which are insane even if you read all 100 pgs. each time)

Mark Lewis is an extremely enthusiastic professor. I have had some pretty crappy professors this quarter, and his unique method of teaching is very entertaining. I had his class from 8:30 to 10:00 p.m. (yes, at night), and his energy is pretty much all that kept me awake. The quizzes were kind of hard, but if you read all the material you will do okay. I was worried about how I would do in a public speaking class, but he put everyone at ease and made it natural to talk in a group setting. He is sometimes late for office hours since he teaches at Allan Hancock and Cuesta at the same time, but he will help you out if you're having problems. I definitely recommend him for anyone who is anxious about taking a public speaking class.
