Wolfsteiner was a decent professor. He doesnt really have a big vocabulary for English so youll have to bear with him during the lectures. Get ready to hear the same introduction every day you go to class. For example, "welcome to intermediate dynamics...." Also, he likes to spend more time teaching you how to code in matlab than teaching you new dynamics material which is good or bad depending on what you are interested in. The first midterm was pretty straight forward if you study the materials you went over in class and made a bomb cheat sheet with the coding you did the first part of the class. However, the second midterm was ridiculously long and difficult compared to the first. For the lab, the codes for each week's lab were basically given to you on blackboard by Wolfsteiner himself. All you really need to do is add a few lines and youll be done with the lab in no time. This is probably the only class I received a low homework score in because he grades tough for homework. Overall, I'd say he would be a great professor if he was able to speak in his native language.

Whose bright idea was it to have a german professor who's still learning english, try and teach one of the hardest ME undergrad classes? I mean seriously. He's obvious a very very smart man, HE understands the concepts perfectly. But he honestly doesn't even have the vocabulary necessary to teach a class this complicated. He didn't know the english word for centrifugal, how can we honestly be expected to learn about complicated angular momentum reactions and non-constant inertia tensors with this guy?

Dr. Wolfsteiner is a solid lecturer who can present the material fairly clearly. He incorporates some props in his lecture that are surprisingly very helpful, especially in a tough subject like dynamics. Accent was never really a problem, and his pacing was pretty good. His primary downfall as a lecturer was his lack of organization on his examples. Shortcuts were vaguely explained and many of the minor but key details to problem solving were skipped over. He gives you a solid foundation on which to build on, and he's pretty helpful in office hours if you go in with decent questions. Some of his midterms were pretty tricky, but he curved and actually did a statistical analysis for us on the results, which was wonderful... But overall, if you get stuck with him for dynamics, it won't be too bad. Considering it was his first quarter in the US, I would think he can only get better.

Prof.Wolfsteiner is a great guy but a bad professor to have for Dynamics. His teaching material was scattered and hard to follow. It was even harder to make the link between his lectures and the hw problems. His Midterms are not bad if you understand the material (i.e. teach yourself). Good luck if you have him.
