I braced myself when I registered for Kirkhart's class since it was the only one that worked with my schedule and he was just a part time teacher. He's was the coolest dude ever. Chem has been my least favorite aspect of being a bio major, but he was easily my favorite teacher that quarter, and I loved goingto his class. Kirkhart did a superb job teaching. He was always very positive and helpful in office hours. If you talk to him, he'll also work with any special circumstances etc that you have. In lecture and described things as simply and directly as he could. He was very straightforward with his expectations and his tests covered what he told you to learn. Very cheerful guy who is focused on his students succeeding. TAKE HIM if you get the chance. | |

Kirkhart was a pretty cool professor. He was very down to earth, especially compared to most of the stuck up chemistry teachers at Cal Poly. He offered review sessions and knew every person in the class, which is pretty unique. Tests and quizzes were very fair. Highly recommended. | |

I highly recommend this professor. He really wants you to do well in his class. He gives you worksheets and tell you which practice problems to do in the book. All of his tests and quizzes are based on these so if you do them you will definitely do well. His lectures can be kind of boring, but it's easier to understand the worksheet problems if you go to lecture. He let us do a re-write for each test which added 10 points to our score and the total score. (So if you got a 50/60, after the re-write it would be 60/70) Overall good professor. Take his class. | |
