To be brutally honest, professor Jansen does not know her stuff. I expect to get an A in the class so this is not a vengeful teacher-bashing review. Often, she would get lost when trying to follow her notes and would have to re-do entire examples. If students ever asked her any questions about the material that extended beyond the most basic concepts, she could not provide answers. During one class period, about a dozen students literally walked out of class when she could not find the centroid of a composite rectangle. She gets completely confused when trying to define axes and units, and I would hate to see her try and derive any of the formulas. I showed up to every class but always found myself regretting the decision. Sadly, she just isnt proficient. Because she was hired by cal poly, I am sure she is a great engineer, but her teaching abilities are not adequate. | |
